An Exploratory Study on Consumer Knowledge and Adoption Intention of Nanotechnology (나노기술에 대한 소비자 지식 및 수용의도 탐색 연구)

  • The purpose of this research is to understand the general consumer knowledge and adoption intention of nanotechnology products, one of the advanced scientific fields. We examined consumers' knowledge of innovation products based on nanotechnology, by gender and age group, which are divided into benefits, cost, and trust perception. As a result, the benefits were highly perceived in the order of perceived usefulness, perceived gains, and perceived ease of use. In general, it was found that men and older age group perceived the benefits of nanotechnology to be relatively higher than women and younger age groups did. In terms of cost, perceived risk was relatively higher than other variables and a high innovation resistance appeared in the younger 30s group. Finally, we found that trust for nano-related institution is relatively lower than trust for nano-related people and trust for nanotechnology itself.

A Study on the Impact of Perceived Benefits of Subscription Services on Attitudes toward Subscription Services and Continued Intention of Subscription Services: Focusing on the Moderating Effect of Innovativeness (구독 서비스의 지각된 혜택이 구독 서비스 태도와 지속이용의도에 미치는 영향 연구: 혁신성향의 조절효과를 중심으로)

  • This study sought to determine the influence of perceived benefits of subscription services on attitudes toward subscription services and continued use intention of them. For this purpose, the perceived benefits of the subscription service were composed of perceived enjoyment and perceived usefulness, and the personal variable, innovativeness, was set as a control variable to examine its influence. As a result of the study, perceived benefits, such as perceived enjoyment and perceived usefulness, both showed a positive influence on attitude toward subscription services and continued use intention of them. The moderating effect of innovativeness on perceived usefulness was also confirmed. The influence of perceived usefulness on attitudes toward subscription services was found to be greater in groups with low innovation propensity than in groups with high innovativeness. These results provide implications about the value of personal characteristics for the continued use of subscription services.

An Exploratory Study of Perceived Benefits and Risks for QR Code based Virtual Fashion Stores (QR코드 기반 가상패션점포의 지각된 혜택과 위험요소에 대한 탐색적 연구)

  • This study explores critical and success factor of benefits and risks for predicting the acceptance of QR code virtual fashion stores. As an exploratory approach, this study conducted focus group interviews(FGI) with 21 panels who had experience with selected QR virtual stores (e.g., Home plus, 11th Street, Pin & Fit). Content analysis was used to generate 184 excerpts and classify into benefits and risks related to QR code virtual stores. With respect to benefits, content analysis identified four factors: Affective appeal, perceived usefulness, ubiquity, and brand promotion. Also, contents regarding perceived risks were classified into four factors: Complexity, lack of information, lack of technology infrastructure, and perceived cost. A managerial implication was discussed for predicting consumer technology acceptance of a QR code virtual store in the fashion retailing market.

The Effect of Perceived Benefits and Obstacles on the Continuous Internet Adoption Intention in Fashion Companies

  • The purpose of this study is to analyze how the perceived benefits and obstacles of fashion companies, which utilizes the internet as a marketing or commercial transaction tool, have effect on the continuous internet adoption intention, and to analyze the differences between the companies that have introduced the internet commercial transaction and those that have not. A survey was conducted from January $15^{th}$ to February $20^{th}$ in 2009, among the employees of fashion companies carrying out internet business. A total of 314 respondents used in the data analysis, the statistical analysis methods were frequency analysis, factor analysis, reliability analysis, t-test and multiple regression analysis. The results show that the elevation of the business results, improvement in customer relationship and raise in market reactivity of the perceived benefits has effect on the continuous internet adoption intention of fashion companies. There are differences in the elevation of the business results, improvement in consumer relationship, miscellaneous expenses and the continuous internet adoption intention between companies that introduced a internet commercial transaction system and those that have not.

The Impact of Privacy Control on Users' Intention to Use Smart Home Internet of Things (IoT) Services

  • Despite the diverse benefits of smart home Internet of Things (IoT) services, the biggest obstacle to the actual usage of those services is concern about privacy. However, little research has investigated the impact of privacy control on users' intention to use smart home services. Based on communication privacy management theory and privacy calculus theory, this study investigates how privacy control options affect users' perceived benefits and costs and how those perceptions affect individuals' intentions to use smart home services by conducting an experiment. Our results showed that smart home privacy control options decreased perceived benefits and increased perceived costs. The perceived benefits and costs significantly affected the intention to use smart home security services. More intriguingly, the effect of perceived benefit was found to be stronger than that of the expected cost. This research contributes to the field of IoT and smart home research and provides practitioners with notable guidelines.

  • The present study investigated the impact of users' perceived benefits on their happiness and loyalty towards the university's online class system. Furthermore, the notion of loyalty was delineated into cognitive, emotional, intentional, and behavioral loyalty, and a systematic analysis was conducted to assess their respective impacts. The analysis was conducted using survey data obtained from a sample of 298 college students who possessed prior experience with the university's online class system. The analysis of the survey revealed that the satisfaction with the online class system was positively influenced by perceived practical benefits and symbolic benefits. However, it was found that emotional benefits did not have a statistically significant impact on satisfaction. Furthermore, it has been demonstrated that cognitive loyalty exerts a substantial beneficial impact on emotional loyalty, as well as a sequential and considerable positive influence on active and behavioral commitment inside the online class system established through perceived benefits. This study holds significance as it conducted an empirical analysis on the impact of users' perceived benefits of the university's online class system on their satisfaction levels, as well as its influence on the four-stage development process of loyalty.

The Impact of Relational Benefit Perception of Outdoor Wear Brands on Brand Trust and Satisfaction (아웃도어 의류브랜드에 대한 관계혜택지각이 브랜드 신뢰와 만족에 미치는 영향)

  • This study aims to identify the factorial constructs of the relational benefits perceived by consumers of outdoor wear brands and their impacts on the consumers' trust in and satisfaction with outdoor wear brands. An online survey was conducted with females and males between the ages of 20 and 50 who have experienced buying outdoor wear brands. A total of 420 responses were analyzed by factor analysis, a reliability test, and multiple regression analysis. The results of this study were as follows: first, the results of factor analysis and the reliability test on the relational benefits perceived by outdoor wear brand purchasers clearly showed conceptual constructs that included informational benefits, social benefits, and psychological benefits. The sub-dimension of perceived relational benefits had significant effects on brand trust and satisfaction. Specifically, respondents revealed that they had higher brand trust if they felt psychologically comfortable, were offered useful information by outdoor wear brands, and had a favorable relationship with salespeople when they bought outdoor wear merchandise. Secondly, influences of perceived relational benefits on brand trust and satisfaction were not shown to differ depending on the congruity between outdoor wear brands and the purchaser's self-image. On the other hand, factors of perceived relational benefits revealed to differently have effects on brand trust and satisfaction depending on respondents' gender and age. Practical implications to understand outdoor wear target customers' relational benefits, self-image congruity and demographic characteristics and to enhance trust and satisfaction with outdoor wear brands are proposed.

Impact of CRM Activities on Behavioral Intention Through the Relational Benefits : A Focus on the Cosmetic Industry (고객 접점에서의 CRM 활동이 관계혜택을 매개로 행동의도에 미치는 영향 : 화장품산업을 중심으로)

  • After ten years from the introduction of CRM systems, many companies reevaluate CRM from the perspective of customers. This paper classifies CRM activities at the contact points with customers and investigates the effect of CRM activities on perceived benefits and the effect of perceived benefits on behavioral intention in the Korean cosmetic industry. The result showed that contact management and complaint handling affected social benefits and that customers perceived confidence benefits from contact management, complaint handling, and churn management. Special treatment benefits were affected by all CRM activities including compensation management. Finally, all kinds of benefits had effects on behavioral intention such as recommendation intention and repurchase intention.

Reuse Intentions for Carsharing Services: A Hierarchical Model of Perceived Benefits, Risks, and Individual Differences

  • This study employs a hierarchical component model to examine reuse intentions among experienced carsharing service users in South Korea, focusing on how various perceptions of benefits and risks impact their decisions. It also explores the influences of self-efficacy, gender, and service usage experience on these perceptions and reuse intentions. Findings highlight that male users are primarily driven by functional benefits such as accessibility and convenience, whereas female users are more responsive to hedonic benefits. Users with high self-efficacy prioritize economic benefits, whereas those with more usage experience prioritize functional benefits. Additionally, social risks significantly deter reuse intentions predominantly among male and less experienced users. By utilizing a hierarchical model, this study offers a deeper understanding of how each dimension of benefits and risks affect overall perceptions, facilitating tailored strategies for carsharing services. The insights contribute valuable theoretical and practical perspectives on the dynamics of carsharing service usage.

Factors related to the Management of MultiDrug-Resistant Organisms among Intensive Care Unit Nurses: An Application of the Health Belief Model (건강신념모델에 근거한 중환자실 간호사의 다제내성균주 감염관리 수행에 영향을 미치는 요인)

  • Purpose: The purpose of this study was to identify factors which influence the management of MultiDrug -Resistant Organisms (MDROs) by nurses in Intensive Care Units (ICUs). Methods: Data were collected from December 8 to 20, 2013 and participants were 163 ICU nurses working in one general hospital. The Health Belief Model tool and knowledge and management of MDROs infection tools were used in the study. Descriptive statistics, t-test, analysis of variances, Pearson correlation coefficients and multiple regression were used to analyze the data. Results: Knowledge, perceived susceptibility, and perceived benefits had a significant influence on MRSA (Methicillin Resistant Staphylococcus Aureus,) and MDRAB (Multidrug Resistant Acinetobacter Baumannii) infection management when all the other variables were considered. Significant variable which had influence on VRE (Vancomycin Resistant Eenterococci) infection management were perceived susceptibility and perceived benefits. Conclusion: Perceived susceptibility and perceived benefits had significant influence on MDROs infection management. Emphasis needs to be on the perceived susceptibility and perceived benefits of MDROs infection management when providing an educational program for ICU nurses.
