Projected Local Binary Pattern based Two-Wheelers Detection using Adaboost Algorithm

  • We propose a bicycle detection system riding on people based on modified projected local binary pattern(PLBP) for vision based intelligent vehicles. Projection method has robustness for rotation invariant and reducing dimensionality for original image. The features of Local binary pattern(LBP) are fast to compute and simple to implement for object recognition and texture classification area. Moreover, We use uniform pattern to remove the noise. This paper suggests that modified LBP method and projection vector having different weighting values according to the local shape and area in the image. Also our system maintains the simplicity of evaluation of traditional formulation while being more discriminative. Our experimental results show that a bicycle and motorcycle riding on people detection system based on proposed PLBP features achieve higher detection accuracy rate than traditional features.

Parametric Body Model Generation for Garment Drape Simulation

  • A parametric body model generation system has been developed. Using various mathematic and geometric algorithms of this system, a three-dimensionally scanned human body can be converted into a resizable body model. Once a parametric body model is formed, its size and shape can be modified instantaneously by providing appropriate anthropometric data. To facilitate the subsequent pattern arrangement process for garment drape simulation, a bounding box generation algorithm has been developed in this study. Also the model can be converted into a set of parametric surfaces that it can also be used for three-dimensional garment pattern design system.

Dominant Color Transform and Circular Pattern Vector: Applications to Traffic Sign Detection and Symbol Recognition

  • In this paper, a new traffic sign detection algorithm.. and a symbol recognition algorithm are proposed. For traffic sign detection, a dominant color transform is introduced, which serves as a tool of highlighting a dominant primary color, while discarding the other two primary colors. For symbol recognition, the curvilinear shape distribution on a circle centered on the centroid of symbol, called a circular pattern vector, is used as a spatial feature of symbol. The circular pattern vector is invariant to scaling, translation, and rotation. As simulation results, the effectiveness of traffic sign detection and recognition algorithms are confirmed, and it is shown that group of circular patter vectors based on concentric circles is more effective than circular pattern vector of a single circle for a given equivalent number of elements of vectors.

초등학교 과학과 교수·학습 과정에 따른 발문 유형 분석 (Analysis of Questioning used in Elementary Science Classes based on Teaching and Learning Processes)

  • The purpose of this study is to investigate the pattern and characteristics of elementary school teaching and learning processes in science based classes. The study participants' class was recorded in video and instructional conversation transcription. The pattern of the observed class was analyzed using the classification frame suggested by Mogan &Saxton(2006). In result, the questioning for elicit information was most frequent and questioning for shape understanding and the questioning for press for reflection in its priority. In result, the presence of elicited questioning for the attainment of knowledge and understanding is more prominent in science-based classrooms. It was revealed that the participating teachers used the questioning sentence pattern more frequently and the self-sustained inquiry that accelerates creative thinking of the student was lacking. It was discovered that teaching elicited questioning, which accelerates creative thinking, as well as fact confirmation pattern is a necessary element of training for teachers.

  • Microstereolithography(MSL) has evolved from the stereolithography technique, and is also based on a light-induced layer-stacking fabrication. Although integral MSL allows the manufacture of a complete layer by one irradiation only, there is a problem related with shape precision due to the light-intensity distribution of focused image. In this study, we developed the integral MSL apparatus using Digital Micromirror Device ($DMD^{TM})$, Texas Instruments) as dynamic pattern generator. It is composed of Xenon-Mecury lamp, optical devices, pattern generator, precision stage, controllers and the control program. Also, we have studied curing depth and width of photocurable resin according to the change of exposure energy.

  • As the demand for mechatronic systems and high performance increases in the machinery industry, the importance of improving friction characteristics is emphasized. During relative movement of objects, friction and wear occur on two surfaces in contact, and various methods are being designed to increase the lifespan and energy efficiency of machines. The energy increase effect using lubricants is a well-known method. In this study, a micro-sized rectangular grid pattern was produced by applying a precise micro-pattern photo lithography process. Rectangular grid patterns of the same shape and friction behavior according to the size of the pattern were produced in convex and concave shapes, and the tribological characteristics of each were analyzed.

가슴형상 측정을 위한 PMP Moire 방법 활용 (A Study on the Measurement of the Breast Shape on Living Body by Using a PMP Moire Method)

  • Recently, as custom-made demand about female underwear is increased, securing of a various dimension system is urgent, and satisfaction of each customer cannot be heightened with established dimensions. If we could measure shape of a living body with a fast and simple method, the custom-made demand of customers could be satisfied in the underwear as well as a clothing industry by using the method. One of the alternatives is shape measurement of the living body by a Moire fringe method. If we put a grating in front of an object to be measured and illuminate light, a Moire fringe with contour line shape is generated in the object, so we can conveniently measure object shape without touching directly by using the pattern. The Moire fringe and three-dimensional shape of the breast of the living body was acquired by a PMP method using a polygon mirror, and height and bottom width of the breast of the living body were measured by using obtained data in this study. Data of breast shape measurement through a mannequin was collected in a previous step as basic material for measuring the breast shape measurement of the living body. Three women in the twenties were selected as one of methods for measuring breast shape of a woman. As a result of the breast shape measurement of a living body A, it was measured that height of the breast was about 67.24mm and the bottom width was $13781.60mm^2$. This study is expected to contribute for collecting basic data of a female underwear industry and establishing a specification of a dimension system.

청소년 후기 여학생의 체형 유형화 분석 (Analysis of female student's body shape of the late adolescent)

  • This study analyzed the body shape of the body of 17~19 years old female students using the SPSS 20.0 statistical program according to the 7th Korea Human Body Survey. Factor analysis was based on six factors including body size, body height, shoulder length, and width, upper body length, hip length, and shoulder inclination related factors. Through this cluster analysis, the body shape of late adolescent female student was classified into four types. Body type 1 was the highest body height factor, and the upper body length and the hip length factor were lower. It was analyzed as 'Long leg in the body'. Body type 2 is the 'narrow shoulder skinny type' with high hip and shoulder slope factors and low body size, body height, shoulder length, and width factor. Body type 3 showed body size, shoulder length, height and hip length factor, and body height factor was rather low 'low hip obese body shape'. Body type 4 was analyzed as 'lower shoulder long upper body type' with higher upper body length factor and lower body size and shoulder slope factor. It is thought that when the pattern is made, it is possible to produce excellent patterns by fitting the dimensions of the body, as well as the dimensions of the shoulder width, the slope, and the hip length.

A Study on the Basic Pattern of Bodice block for Adult Women in China - Focusing on Women in 20s Residing in Beijing and Shanghai -

  • The purpose at this study is to develop the appropriate bodice model for Chinese women in order to contribute to the improvement of fitness at clothing products that are exported to China. The sample group was the subject of 149 persons with the standard body shape at 19-24 years old women who reside in Beijing and Shanghai, China. The data analysis is processed for statistics using SPSSWIN 10.0 PROGRAM, and the used analysis methods are technical statistics analysis, factor analysis, group analysis, and one-way ANOVA. The outcome of this study is summarized as follows. 1. Prior to develop the tight-fitting shape of bodice model, the body classification approach by the posture and type of bending and stretching is selected to use 6 index items, and the body types are classified into bent body, right body, and pull-back body. 2. The average body size of standard body shape had 3 times of wearing experiment based on the tight-fitting shape of ESMOD bodice block drawing, and the system was corrected and supplemented to present the final bodice block drawing. 3. Comparisons have been made based on the center front line, center back line and chest circumference for each of existing bodice block for Chinese women, existing bodice block for Korean women and the combination of the bodice block under this study.

핀틀 형상이 노즐 성능에 미치는 영향에 관한 연구 (Investigation of Pintle Shape Effect on the Nozzle Performance)

  • 고체 추진기관은 고정된 추진제 그레인 형상과 노즐목 때문에 정해진 단순 추력을 가지게 된다. 핀틀 노즐은 기존의 고체 추진기관의 장점을 가지면서도 추력 조절이 불가능한 단점을 보완하기 위해 제안된 방법이다. 본 연구에서는 핀틀 형상이 노즐 성능에 미치는 영향을 실험과 수치해석 방법으로 평가하였다. 핀틀 형상은 단순성의 원리에 근거하여 변경하였으며 각각의 형상에 대한 내부 유동장은 난류모델을 적용하여 Fluent로 해석하였다. 본 연구로부터 핀틀 형상이 노즐내의 충격파 구조 및 유동박리 영향을 주어 노즐 추력 및 핀틀 하중에 영향을 미침과 최적의 노즐 성능을 발휘할 수 있는 핀틀 형상이 존재함을 확인하였다.
