A Study on Development of Interactive CAM System for CNC Lathe (CNC 선반용 대화형 CAM 시스템 개발에 관한 연구)

  • Recently, for enhanced productivity the induction of CAD/CAM is vigorous. Most of high-level CAD/CAM systems produce powerful faculties. But it is very expensive to purchase the system in small and difficult to be operated by non-experienced workers effectively. Then the resonable CAM system for these is needed. In this study we developed a proto-type of the CAM system for CNC lathe connecting with personal computer. This system is configured with interactive menu windows for easy control of CNC lathe. And the system supports tool path generation for cutting conditions of workpiece. The performance of this system is satisfactory.

  • One of the basic technology for implementing the autonomy of UGV(Unmanned Ground Vehicle) is a path planning algorithm using obstacle and raw terrain information which are gathered from perception sensors such as stereo camera and laser scanner. In this paper, we propose a generation method of DVGM(Directional Velocity Grid Map) which have traverse speed of UGV for the five heading directions except the rear one. The fuzzy system is designed to generate a resonable traveling speed for DVGM from current patch to the next one by using terrain slope, roughness and obstacle information extracted from raw world model data. A simulation is conducted with world model data sampled from real terrain so as to verify the performance of proposed fuzzy inference system.

  • The sheet parts are formed with dies conventionally. But this conventional forming process is not suited to small volume and varied production for the reason of high cost. For the solution of this problem, a new forming process, which is called CNC incremental sheet forming, is being introduced. This process can form sheet parts without die, and is very well suited to small volume and varied production in space flight and automobile. In this paper, dieless CNC forming system based on a machining center is developed. A special device to grasp and pull the blank sheet built in the machining center and tool path generation S/W from STL file of 3-D model are developed. Several sheet parts are incrementally formed to verify the effectiveness of the developed system.

  • Recently, the Z-Map model has been used widely to represent the three dimensional geometric shape and to achieve the cross-section and point evaluation of the shape. In this paper, the CNC cutting planning and simulation modules for product with three dimensional geometric shape are realized based on the Z-Map model. The realized system has the various capabilities related to the automatic generation of tool path for the rough and finish cutting processes, the automatic elimination of overcut, the automatic generation of CNC program for a machining center and the cutting simulation. Especially, the overcut-free tool path is obtained by using the CL Z-Map models which are composed of the offset surfaces of the geometric shape of product.

  • For developing 5-axis laser cutting systems, many problems such as rotating of laser head or table, 5-axis tool path generation and collision avoidance between laser head and product should be solved. In this paper, a five-axis laser cutting machine with table swivel and rotary type configuration is developed. The five axes (X,Y,Z,A,B) are controlled and interfaced to PC via MMC board. Two kinds of CAM S/W such as commercial 5-axis CAM S/W(Euclid) and UG-API are engaged to generate NC code for the developed 5-axis laser cutting machine.

  • In this study, PC controlled CNC automatic cutting system is developed. Technological introduction of the control process and the computer programming has made possible not only the automatic control for cutting processing unit but also the easy-to-use graphic software that enables the cutting process. This program involves shape part drawing and amendment, pattern reading and saving, reading Autocad file, nesting process, kerf compensation, automatic cutting path generation, NC file conversion and motor control. Software is devided into 3 modules for easy work. First step enables drawing, amendment and pattern making, followed by automatic nesting and cutting path generation with kerf compensation. In the final step, drawing data is transmitted for the resulting automatic cutting processes. This software would be applicated in gas cutting and textile cutting so that it improves the productivity of cutting process.

  • This paper aims to provide a better understanding about how Information and Communication technology (ICT) has diffused. The investigation is conducted with the consideration of ICT evolution in terms of technological change and usage pattern. The definition used is presented as 'the ICT is a process of convergence of technologies between information-processing and information-transforming technologies, mainly due to the advent of microelectronlcs'. After examining technological changes of ICT, the diffusion path of ICT is traced through the usage ratio in total input and/or investment based on Input-Output tables (I-O). It shows that the evolution of ICT from the change of usage pattern is an up-and-down usage pattern rather than a uni-modal usage time path. With this recognition, the diffusion index is prepared.   • A spatio-temporal searcher structure for 3rd generation W-CDMA systems is proposed to enhance the detection capability of the multi-path searcher for the desired signal. This searcher employs the spatio-temporal signal structure to search for newly emerging multipath signals. The proposed multi-path searcher provides better detection capability andthus reduces the mean acquisition time. The detection and false alarm probabilities of new and conventional schemes are calculated and numerical examples of mean acquisition time are given thereafter.

  • 1. CAD system과 PROPS를 접속하여 CADsystem에서 Design된 surface를 사용할 수 있으며 Robot Kinematics를 graphic library화하여 surface배치 수상 및 path generation 및 animation을 통하여 가공작업을 위한 로보트 운동을 simulation할 수 있게 되었다. 2. Denavit-hartenberg transformation form에 의해 여러 Robot Kinematic을 일반적인 형식으로 library화 하였다. 3. 금형 가공의 공정들을 Menu로 만들어서 Expert system을 도입, 손쉽게 Interactive한 작업을 할 수 있게 하였다. 4. 차후의 연구 목표는 로보트 Calibration S/W의 개발 및 실현 그리고 Expert System을 이용한 Robot Program Generator의 완성을 통한 전체 Off-line programming System을 정립하는데 있다. 이를 위해서 더 실제적인 Tool Path Generation과 Expert System을 이용한 가공 조건의 결정 및 User Interface를 위한 Window가 개발되어야 한다. 5. 1차년도에 개발된 Robotonomic Tool System의 유연성을 확장시킨다. 실험결과를 바탕으로 공정 자동화 시스템을 확장시킨다. 6. 연마공정자동화에 필수적인 공구 및 공구 Tip의 표준화 및 자동교환장치를 개발한다. 7. 금형연마 Cell의 구성요소들간의 Interface 및 System Controller에서의 집적화를 시킨다.
