Assessment of mulberry leaf as a potential feed supplement for animal feeding in P.R. China

  • Objective: Mulberry (Morus alba L.) is a cultivated shrub grown widely in the sub-tropical and tropical areas. It has been shown that mulberry leaf contains high levels of protein while having polyphenols as phytonutrients. Therefore, it is important to conduct an experiment to assess potential toxic level from mulberry on behavior, blood hematological and coagulation parameter using Sprague-Dawley (SD) rats. Methods: Both male and female SD rats were given an intragastric administration of respective treatments of mulberry leaf intakes (control, low and high levels). Parameters of feed intake, hematological and coagulation of blood parameters, as well as liveweight changes were taken during the 7 d of adaptation, 28 d of treatment exposure, and 14 d of recovery periods, respectively. All treatment data were statistically analyzed using analysis of variance of SPSS17.0 for Windows Statistical Software following the Randomized complete block design with sex as a block. Results: Most of the parameters of the physical symptoms of the SD rats, were not significantly different (p>0.05) when compared with that of the control group. Those which remain unchanged in each dose group were, body weight (BW) gain, feed intake, the hematology and coagulation indexes. Although, there were a few individual indicators that were abnormal, but the overall physiological appearance of the rats were normal. Conclusion: Results under this experiment revealed that most hematological and coagulation parameters of the SD rats in both male and female were normal, although the weight gain of female rats in high-dose group was significantly reduced than those of the male rats. Under this study, the use of mulberry leaf up to 2 g/kg BW did not result in abnormal phenomenon in the SD rats. These findings would offer useful information for further in vivo feeding trials in animals to extensively use of mulberry leaf to improve animal production, particularly in P.R. China.

시골로 내려온 서울, 서울로 오르지 못한 시골 (Captial to coming to country and country not coming up to capital)

  • 이 글은 조선중기 자연소재시조에 나타난 형상적 국면을 서울과 시골의 관점에서 살펴보고자 하는 목적을 가진다. 시골은 서울을 어떻게 의식하느냐에 따라 자신의 모습을 달리 드러낸다. 이 글에서는 '시골로 내려온 서울'과 '서울로 오르지 못한 시골'의 두 국면을 통해 17$\sim$18세기 자연소재시가의 특징을 살펴보고자 한다. '시골로 내려온 서울'의 특징을 가진 작품으로는 김광욱의 <율리유곡>, 조존성의 <호아곡>, 진청 만횡청류의 강신 관련 작품을 들 수 있다. '서울로 오르지 못한 시골'의 특징을 가진 작품으로는 이휘일의 <전가팔곡>, 진청 무명씨 수분에 실린 작품, 위백규의 <농가구장>을 들 수 있다. 전원과 전가 형상의 작품이 '시골로 내려온 서울'의 모습을 담은 자연소재시조라면, 자영농 형상의 작품은 '서울로 오르지 못한 시골'의 모습을 담은 자연소재시조다. 전자가 서울에서 시골이란 외출의 방향성을 가진다면, 후자는 시골에서 서울이란 상경의 방향성을 가진다. 그러나 전자는 역방향 이동의 허용이란 유연성을 지니지만, 후자는 정방향 이동마저 완수할 수 없는 한계를 노정함으로써 드디어는 이동의 역동성마저 소멸되는 상황을 맞이한다.

Changes in plant community structure in relation to climate change and restoration plot areas in Mongolia

  • Mongolia has one of the strongest climate warming signals on Earth, and over 40% of the human population depends directly or indirectly on pastoral livestock production for their livelihoods. Thus, climate-driven changes in rangeland production will likely have a major effect on pastoral livelihoods . The loss of species dependent mostly on rainfall has resulted in adverse changes in the botanical composition of the steppes . Summer season in 2015 was completely dry until middle of July and, had not enough vegetation cover as last 15 years. The purpose of this study is to check plant community dynamics in Mongolia in relation to climate change in 2014 and 2015. The study sites were selected in mountain-steppe habitat in central Mongolia. In the 2014, there have been registered 81 plant species of 56 genera of 25 families on the investigated sites and, occurred 57 plant species of 44 genera of 21 families in the 2015. It is concluded that the abundance and richness of plants are directly connected to heavily affect by the climatic factor, i.e. amount of precipitation during growing season. As a same like result of climate change, in Mongolian land is going become desertification, and each spring, soil particles from Mongolia are swept up by a cold air mass into the atmosphere and blasts into south east China, Korea and Japan. The Koreans call this phenomenon the "Fifth season" or "Yellow sand", and the Chinese call it "Yellow dragon".

현대 성당건축의 성단구성과 성물에 대한 실천신학적 연구 - 제2차 바티칸공의회 문헌에 대한 건축적 해석 - (A Theological Study on the furnishings of the Sanctuary of Modern Catholic Church - Focused on the Architectural Interpretation of the Vatican Council 2 -)

  • This Study is concerned with the architectural problems particular to the design of the sanctuary in Catholic churches. The paper is meant to address two distinct groups - clerics and architects. Architects do not tend to think the church buildings theologically or liturgically, and priests, though they are often trained in the arts, do not tend to look at buildings the same way architects do. Hence, my goal is to adequately address the concerns of each in a language the other will understand, thereby building a bridge of communication between the two groups. The two main concerns of the study are to provide guidelines and reflection lot liturgically correct buildings, and to re-establish the traditions of church buildings. I discuss the idea of the sanctuary in the Catholic church,(in chapter 2) and examine each of the main furnishings of the sanctuary with regard to history, liturgical use, symbolism and related pastoral concerns.(in chapter 3,4).

의류 소재의 이미지 평가 차원 개발에 관한 연구 (Development of Evaluation Dimensions regarding the Image of Clothing Materials)

  • In this study, we classified adjectives to represent the image of clothing materials as the fundamental process for evaluation of the images on various fabrics and reviewed hierarchy and evaluation dimensions regarding the image of clothing materials. The adjectives to express the image of clothing materials were extracted from Fashion Magazine and Fashion Trend Book The similarity among adjectives was measured by pair-wise comparison without showing fabrics. From the result of the cluster analysis, 87 adjectives were finally extracted through the integrated processing of the adjectives with similar meaning and a close distance. Through the cluster analysis, the hierarchy of the clothing material images was examined. The clothing material images were classified into 12 primary sub-clusters such as ‘feminine', ‘warm', ‘neat', ‘classical', ‘pastoral.' ‘casual', ‘modern'. ‘ambiguous', ‘primitive', masculine', ‘abundant', and ‘arranged'. The dimensions evaluating the clothing material images were also developed using the multi-dimensional scaling method. A 4-dimensions and 8-axes system was established, which is composed of ‘masculine-feminine', ‘new-old', ‘casual-classical', and ‘ambiguous-arranged' images.

국민주택규모의 공동주택 리모델링 평면개발을 위한 거주자 성향 분석 (A Study on the Residents' Natural Tendencies of the Development of Floor Plans in the National Housing Scale$(85m^2)$ Condominium Remodeling)

  • This research analyze the demand of the residents against the public housing remodeling of national housing scale $(85m^2)$, focusing on residents and their tendencies within their dwelling spaces. The analysis determines the most appropriate patterns and spatial connections within the floor plan. The result includes that there are two types of the classification into an urban oriented propensity (45%), 'The center of city, the apartment and the convenience' etc, and a rural oriented propensity (55%), 'The pastoral, the house and the circumstance' etc, based on their lifestyle values. Also there are three interior propensity classifications, those tending to warm and sensitive variable space (42%), western and gorgeous dynamic space (34%) and oriental and popular static space (24%). The research illustrated the residents' desired space planning options, based on the analysis of the residents' preference patterns which is various.

  • Geographical position and associated climatic influences can be a negative environmental condition that affects sustainable use of land resources, especially pastoral livestock production. Vegetation condition of the country is sensitively changes upon climate changes and human impacts. Within last 60 years data the annual air temperature has increased in 1.66 degrees in average and the total precipitation amount had almost no change. The main goal of this work is to relate climate change within last 20 years with pasture condition, estimated by NOAA/NDVI data set.

Comparison of Nitrogen Metabolism in Yak (Bos grunniens) and Indigenous Cattle (Bos taurus) on the Qinghai-Tibetan Plateau

  • The objective of the present study was to examine whether yaks possess any adaptive mechanisms of nitrogen (N) metabolism to survive in the harsh foraging environment of the Qinghai-Tibetan Plateau. A grazing experiment on native alpine meadows was conducted to determine availability of herbage biomass and body weight (BW) change of yaks over the year, followed by two indoor feeding trials to investigate adaptation mechanisms of N metabolism in yaks fed at similar intake level to grazing conditions. Three castrated males of each of three genotypes; yak (Bos grunniens), indigenous cattle (Bos taurus) and their crossbred - cattleyak (Bos taurus male${\times}$Bos grunniens female), were used in the housed trials. Results showed that: i) Monthly herbage biomass production and daily grazing intakes by yaks over the year ranged from 220 to 4,664 kg DM per ha, and 1.90 to 8.50 kg DM, respectively. For about seven months each year, yaks suffer from malnutrition as a result of inadequate pasture conditions; ii) Urinary N excretion and N retention by yaks were significantly affected by feeding level, and yaks had a lower (p<0.05) average daily urinary N excretion (0.39 g/kg $BW^{0.75}$) and a greater (p<0.05) N retention (-0.09 g/kg $BW^{0.75}$) than indigenous cattle (0.47 and -0.16 g/kg $BW^{0.75}$, respectively). Fasting daily urinary N excretion was greater (p<0.05) for indigenous cattle than yaks (353 vs. 248 mg/kg $BW^{0.75}$). Purine derivative N excretion and purine derivative N index (PNI) increased with increasing feeding level, while the value of PNI was greater (p<0.05) for yaks and cattleyak (0.11 and 0.12, respectively) than for indigenous cattle (0.09) during the feeding trials. These results suggest that yaks could rely, in part, on the recycling of N to adapt to the harsh forage environment on the Qinghai-Tibetan Plateau.), were used in the housed trials. 여의도 한강공원 조성계획 (Landscape Design Proposal for Seoul Yeouido Riverside Park)

  • 한강은 대한민국 수도 서울을 가로지르는 거대한 스케일의 매력적인 강이다. 그러나 근대화 과정에서 일괄적 인 호안공사로 직강화 되어 본연의 자연스러움과 하천의 건강성을 점차 상실하였다. 이를 극복하고 한강 중심의 개혁을 통해 수변도시 서울의 이미지를 확고히 하여 고급 브랜드화 하겠다는 한강르네상스 계획이 진행 중이다. 본 연구는 한강르네상스 사업의 일환으로 진행된 여의도 한강공원 국제 설계경기 공모 당선작의 설계전략과 내용을 서술하고자 한다. 계획의 주안점은 기본적으로 여의도 한강공원이라는 새로운 워터프런트의 정체성을 대변하는 3가지 이슈를 가지고 접근하였다. 첫째, 여의도는 비록 개발에 의해 인공적인 섬으로 변했지만 한강에서 과거의 기억을 가지는 유일한 공간이다. 모래섬의 서정성과 물가의 감성적인 기억을 가지는 장소로 계획하고자 하였다. 둘째, 한강르네상스 프로젝트의 6가지 지구 중 서로 마주 보고 있는 용산과 여의도는 중심지 역으로서 국제적인 금융, 업무지 역으로 조성된다. 용산의 철저히 도시적인 모습에 반해, 목가적 풍경과 고층건물이 절묘하게 어우러지는 색다른 풍경의 여의도 워터프런트를 제안하여 용산과의 적극적인 상호관계를 형성하고자 하였다. 마지막으로, 본 계획안에서는 현상공모 범위 밖인 여 의도공원과 본 현상공모 대상인 여의도 한강공원 관계를 재설정해 보고자 하는 것이었다.

인공지능에 대한 신학생들의 인식 연구와 기독교교육학적 의의 (A Study on Theological Students' Perception of Artificial Intelligence and the Christian Educational Implications)

  • 현대 과학 기술의 급속한 발전은 그리스도인과 목회 현장에 지대한 영향을 미치고 있다. 최근 대두된 제 4차 산업 혁명은 교회와 신학 분야에서 다양한 토론을 이끌어 내고 있으며, 특히 인공 지능(AI)은 각계각층에서 중요한 이슈가 되고 있다. 그럼에도 불구하고, AI가 어떻게 교회와 목회 현장에 영향을 미치는지에 대한 양적 연구는 부족한 실정이다. 이에 본 연구진은 신학생들의 AI에 대한 인식도를 조사하고 분석한 후, 그에 대한 기독교교육적 의의를 고찰했다. 한국의 주요 신학교에 재학 중인 220 명의 남녀 신학생들을 대상으로 7 개 하위 영역에 대한 인식도를 조사했으며, 7 개의 하위 영역에는 AI에 대한 관심도, 사회적 영향력, AI의 대안적 영향 및 AI의 교회에 대한 영향력 등이 포함되었다. 본 연구 결과로 신학생들은 AI의 학문적 관련성 또는 AI 교육의 필요성에는 일반적으로 동의하고 있으나, 교회에 대한 AI의 영향력에 대해서는 상대적으로 낮은 인식도를 보였다. 이같이 낮은 인식도는 신학생들이 AI가 일반 사회나 교육에는 필수적이고 중요한 부분이라고 인식하지만, 반면 AI가 교회를 크게 위협하거나 지대한 영향을 주지는 않을 것이라는 그들의 신념을 나타낸다. 이에 대해서 우리는 AI에 대한 신학생들의 인식도를 높이기 위한 기독교교육적대응이 있어야 한다고 생각하며, 기독교세계관의 관점에서 과학 기술과 관련된 교육프로그램을 신학교의 교과 과정에 여러 수준으로 마련할 것을 제안한다.
