한국형 고속틸팅열차의 중간부 충돌에너지 흡수구조에 대한 연구 (A study on crash energy absorption design of passenger-car extreme structure of tilting train prototype)

  • Crahworthy design of trains is now indispensable procedure in modern railway vehicle design for ensuring the safety of passengers and crew. It is now widely recognized that a more strategic approach is needed in order to absorb higher level energy in a controlled manner and minimize passenger injuries effectively. The first design step in this strategic approach is the design of the front end structure(so called HE extremities) to absorb a large part of total impact energy and then the structure of passengers non-accommodation zones(so called HE extremities) is designed to absorb the rest of impact energy. In this paper, the passengers entrance door area is selected as the LE(low energy) extremities and the design of the LEE was carried out. The main part of LEE design procedures is the design of energy absorbing tubes. For this purpose, the several tube candidates are introduced and compared to each others with numerical crash simulation.

복수공항 이용객의 서비스 만족에 영향을 미치는 품질요인의 비교 연구 (Study on comparison of quality factors, which effect on service satisfaction by passengers who use multi-airport)

  • The role of airports in the metropolitan area in Korea is very important which is located on the center of Northeast Asia considered as the highest potential growth continent in the world air transport market. This study includes comparison on service quality between Gimpo Airport and Incheon Airport which are indicated as multi-airport system in the metropolitan area appraised by passengers from Korea, Japan and China, and analysis on primary factors of airport service which affect the customer satisfaction and loyalty. The service quality appraised in the order of Chinese, Korean, and Japanese and the analysis result indicated that the service quality factors which influence on customer satisfaction and loyalty were all different among passengers from three countries. Information service was the priority factor for customer satisfaction to Chinese and Korean, but Japanese considered that personal service was the most important factor. This research paper tried to provide many current issues and guides to operational strategy including plan for the specialized routes of multi-airport system in domestic metropolitan area.

  • 본 연구는 항공기를 이용한 승객들이 지각하는 항공사 서비스 품질이 항공사 이미지 형성에 어떠한 영향을 주고 궁극적으로 승객의 향후 행동의도에 미치는 영향이 무엇인지를 알아보는데 목적이 있다. 이를 위하여 대한항공, 아시아나 항공, 외국 항공사를 이용한 경험이 있는 한국 국제선 승객으로부터 수집한 데이터를 개발된 구조방정식 모형에 적용하여 분석하였다. 분석 결과 기내서비스와 고객 및 운항관련 서비스가 항공사 이미지 형성에 긍정적인 영향을 미치는 것으로 나타났다. 또한 항공사 이미지는 한국 국제선 승객의 향후 행동의도에 직접적인 영향을 미치는 것으로 분석되었다.

차량 이동궤적 기반 버스정차대 기하구조 연구 (Geometric Design of Bus Bay Based on Vehicle Trajectory Analysis)

  • PURPOSES : It is desirable for buses to be parallel to the face of the bus shelter at a bus stop. In this way, passengers can safely use the buses without moving into the vehicle area. The study was a review of the current bus bay geometric guidelines, to determine whether they lead buses to stop parallel to the face of the bus shelter by analyzing vehicle trajectory. METHODS : A commercial software program for vehicle trajectory analysis was used under our assumptions about bus dimensions and geometric values. The final position of the bus was analyzed for multiple trajectory simulations, reflecting various geometric alternatives. RESULTS : Within the scope of the study, we concluded that the current design guidelines need to be revised by the design values suggested by the study. CONCLUSIONS : The results of the study suggested alternative design values for bus bay geometry, based on the assumption that buses should be parallel to the face of the bus shelter in order to prevent passengers from moving into the vehicle area.

  • The total number of passengers for Line $1{\sim}4$ operated by Seoul Metro among subways that act as foot of Seoul residents was 1.43116 billion passengers in 2006 and average of 3.921 million passengers per day. The results of analysis on safety accidents that occurred recently in subways show that various complaints on subways were reduced through the expansion of safety related facilities and training but accidents caused by negligent handling by employees including engineers are increasing on the contrary. At present time where various man-made accidents break out such as wrong handling and habits of engineers in charge of driving trains and momentary mistakes, there needs effort for active management and improvement to prevent and minimize accidents. Therefore, this study has drawn out problems through surveys on aptitude test system to engineers and compared with case studies in overseas. Thus, it attempted to minimize safety accidents in subways, and derived methods for improving safety management by focusing on improving the current aptitude test system for nurturing engineers suitable to handle railway driving in the future.

  • With advantages of open spaces and existing HVAC facilities, subway station, if unexpected disastrous situation happens on the ground, can be used as a temporary safe place for evacuees. The main objective of this study is to establish a guideline on estimating evacuation capacity of the subway station and evaluating levels of service of evacuation for officials to control the situation. This guideline includes available spaces of the station, capacity of sanitary fixtures, and total number of passengers, etc. In this paper, we first analyzed the number of passengers of SMRT (Line 5~Line 8) during AM peak hour and then evaluated the number of passengers using toilets at that time. In addition, we calculated the seating capacity of subway stations on SMRT using the difference between the actual number of toilets and the estimated number of ones from the occupancy time of each toilet.

  • Heat/smoke detectors are installed in most subway platforms in Korea to detect fire. Subway platform is divided by smoke-control zones for efficient smoke-control. Once the detectors detect heat or smoke, the smoke-control ventilation system in the platform and concourse is activated according to the smoke-control ventilation mode. Smoke-control mode during fires in Korean subway platforms is that the smoke zones operate by exhausting smoke while other zones in the platform and in the concourse which is the upper floor of the platform operate by supplying air or stopping any ventilation. This study is conducted to evaluate performance of passengers' evacuation for various smoke control modes in the subway station. Distribution of smoke and heat due to fire on the platform is analyzed by using Fire Dynamics Simulator(FDS V 4.06) of NIST. Various smoke-control ventilation modes and locations of fire are considered. Evacuation and movement of passengers within the platform is simulated by buildingEXODUS V 4.0.

공항 여객터미널 여객동선체계에 관한 연구 (A Study on the Passenger Circulation system of the Airport Passenger Terminal)

  • At a passenger terminal which is a core facility of a large-scale airport, users are not easy to recognize its space and to approach each facility by composition of large-scale space not recognized at a glance and arrangement of complicated functional space. Such a passenger terminal should be designed by putting a focus on functionality, safety and convenience since diverse passengers use it. At a passenger terminal, a lot of passengers' circulation followed by diverse purpose appear. Therefore, it needs a lot of functional space and space to satisfy passengers' demands. When circulation is planed, it should be designed by a systematic standard. The study was carried out on the basis of international airports, considering features and functions of airport circulation system. In kind of circulation in passenger terminal of an airport, there are user's circulation (passenger's circulation, employee's circulation and service circulation) and baggage circulation. The study examined passenger's circulation which was a major circulation of passenger terminal out of user's circulation. The study examined elements which had an effect on circulation system at a large-scale airport passenger terminal and basic data for an efficient circulation system standard of passenger terminal through case analysis of passenger terminal circulation systems at international airports.

뉴스초점 - 지하철 9호선의 급행화 및 5호선과의 직결대안 (Subway Line 9 Express Transit Service & Direct Link Proposal with Line 5)

  • A new subway, line 9 linking Western and Eastern Seoul began its services for citizens between Gimpo airport and Gangnam area within 30 minutes by express transit service. Seoul Metro Line 9 Corporation plans to operate both local transit service which will stop at every station, and express transit service that will stop at several key stations including junctions. The passengers on line 9 will be able to transfer to lines 2, 3, 5, 8, Bundang and Incheon International Airport. The Line 9 is expected to disperse the demand for line 2, having the most number of subway users, and will provide passengers with less crowded travel. The new line will also help residents in southern Seoul outskirts and Gyeonggi provincial cities including Bundang vicinity, and Gangdong area commuters get better access to Gimpo and incheon Airports. The Corporation expects to transfer 560,000 passengers daily by the subway line 9. Seoul Development Institute conducted network reshuffle study for Seoul Metro system to sort out congestion problem due to its irrational line alignments and inconvenient transfer. Among several candidate plans of network reshuffling, the direct connection of line 9 with line 5 was chosen as a pilot study. The study found that direct connection of the 2 lines is essential for enhancing transit utility and reducing automobile commuters.

카노 모형에 기반한 항공서비스품질 분류와 잠재적 고객만족 개선지수에 관한 연구 - 중국 승객을 중심으로 (A Study on Airline Service Quality Assessment using Potential Customer Satisfaction Improvement Index Based on Kano Model- Centered around Chinese Passengers)

  • Purpose: The purpose of this study is to assess the service quality attributes of Korean airlines service for Chinese passengers and suggest revised model to count potential improvement. Methods: Using the Kano and Timko models based on survey questionnaire to classify the quality attributes and to calculate the customer satisfaction index for each service attributes. And the revised potential customers satisfaction index(R-PCSI) are used to access the improvement possibilities by Kano model's attributes. Results: The attributes by Kano model, the relative importance, and the priorities for improvement for 30 airline service quality characteristics are identified. The most important item for improvement is 'Loses and delays compensations service'. Conclusion: According to the PCSI calculation results, this paper can help for Korean Airlines to improve customer satisfaction for Chinese passengers. And R-PCSI model suggested by this paper can be used for other service quality analysis.
