  • Environmental factors for automotive consist of temperature, humidity, vibration(sine & random), gas, an electrical load and so on. These environmental factors are impressed in a automotive. Dependability is essential requirement in many electronic parts. Among components of automotive, the connector connecting electrical signals is one of the most important parts. Automotive -connector is inspected according to each manufacturer's test standard in which dependability should be considered. This paper aims to verify that current test standard is suitable for dependability, and present an inductive life test for automotive connector based on the field data in use-condition.

트랙터의 전동라인 부품에 대한 고장 특성 분석 및 교체 수요 예측 (Analysis of Failure Characteristics and Estimated Replacement Demands of Tractor Driveline Parts)

  • The objectives of this study were to investigate the failure characteristics of a total of 90 parts of tractor driveline, and to predict their average annual demands required to perform the after-sales service. The failure characteristics such as failure mode, mean time between failures, characteristic life and reliability were analyzed using the data collected through the experienced mechanics at the part centers of the tractor manufacturers. The analysis was based on the assumption that the failure distribution follows the Weibull distribution. The average annual demands were also predicted for the replacement parts using the mean time between failures and the renewal theory based on the Weibull distribution. The results of the study revealed that the driveline parts failure was mostly from wearout and their average characteristic life is about 1.760 hours. The estimated mean time between failures was in a range of 670∼3,740 hours and reliability in a range of 40∼60%. The annual replacement demands were in a range of 4∼45 for a service of 100 tractors.

야전운용제원을 이용한 5.56 mm 소총 신뢰도 분석 (Reliability Analysis Using Field-Data of 5.56 mm Rifle)

  • 무기체계에 있어서 신뢰도는 중요한 요소이다. 신뢰도가 낮으면 무기체계가 제대로 기능하지 못할 가능성이 높으며, 이는 우리군의 전투력 약화로 직결된다. 본 논문에서는 현재 우리 군이 개인화기로 사용하는 5.56 mm 소총의 구조를 총열, 윗총몸, 노리쇠집, 가스활대, 복좌용수철 및 밀대, 아랫총몸, 개머리 총 7개의 조립체로 분류하고, 소총이 정상작동하기 위한 8대 기능에 대하여 설명하였다. 또한 소총의 신뢰도의 개념을 고장 간 평균사격발수(MRBF: Mean Round Between Failure, 이하 MRBF)로 정의하고, 수리가능 시스템에 대한 신뢰도 분석 이론으로서 포아송 과정 모형과 이 모형에 대한 추세를 검정하기 위한 방법으로 TTT(Total Time on Test, 이하 TTT) 도시방법에 대하여 설명하였다. 다음으로 소총의 고장을 주기성 교환품목을 제외한 부품의 교환으로 정의하여 획득한 야전운용제원을 정제하였으며, 정제된 야전운용제원을 MINITAB 프로그램에 입력하여 신뢰도를 분석하였다. 그 결과 소총의 신뢰도는 251.73발로 분석되었으며, 소총의 조립체별 신뢰도 분석을 통해 개선이 필요한 조립체로 총열, 아랫총몸, 개머리 조립체를 식별하였고, 개선이 필요한 세부 부품 10가지를 식별하였다. 마지막으로 현재 획득 가능한 야전운용제원을 이용한 신뢰도 분석의 한계점에 대하여 고찰하였다.

상용 전기전자 부품의 품질등급 적용 방안에 관한 연구 (A Study on Method for Classifying Quality Levels of Commercial Electric & Electronic Parts)

  • The quality of a part has directly effect on part reliability. In the basis of MIL-HDBK-217F model, it is the determined rule that part's quality level should follow its nominal one written in its specification. If quality information is unknown, quality level of the part should be determined as 'Lower'. However, the prediction model is said to be short in reflecting parts applying 'state-of-the-art' technology and result in over-estimated failure rate by some reliability-related authorities or research institutes. In this study, the reliability prediction results by the model of MIL-HDBK-217F and Telcordia SR-332 are compared and analyzed to verify whether the statement is reasonable or not.

미스트기 부품의 고장실태조사에 의한 신뢰성의 예측 (Presumption on the Failures, the Causes and the Reliability of the Mist and Dust Blower)

  • This study was originated to investigate the imparired parts of the mist and dust blowers and intended to analyze the causes of their failures by the use of the Weibull probability paper. By the use of the paper, the parts which were needed to change the design, the force of the urgency, the mean time between failures of the parts and the basic causes of the troubles could be predicted. The survey showed that the following parts got out of order: (A) flexible rubber hose, (B) blowing fan, (C) lead valve, (D) piston ring. (E) crank main bearing, (F) coil in magneto and (G) needle valve in carburettor. The analysis of the survey indicated that the parts G, C, E and D were belonged to "wear-out failure", and that the mean time between failures became shorter in order as indicated above. To insure longer lives of those parts, it would be necessary to change the design and the material and to upgrade operators mechanical technique of the mist and dust blower. The failure of the parts A, B and F was classified as "randomfailure", and they did not seem to be the "wear-out" at that time. The parts B and F was evaluated as "initial failure". Quality controls and operating tests by the producer. and the operational training for users should be strengthened so as to eliminate these failures. Were the failures only in the parts A, C, D, E, F and G, it could be said that the "reliability" of the mist and dust blower would fall to 10 percent in the second year, and 50 percent of the mist and dust blowers would fail in all parts A, C, D, E, F and G before the blower would have control insect and disease in 58.2 hectares. The use of the Weibull probability paper for analyzing failures of the mist and dust blowers was effective in that it analyzed failure in the relationship between strength of the parts and users actual circumstanoes.

  • 신뢰성 분석과 고장형태 및 영향분석(FMEA)으로 구성된 신뢰성 설계 절차를 정립하고, 극소형 위성 발사를 위한 공중발사 로켓, 미리내 II의 신뢰도 분석을 수행하였다. 신뢰성 분석 결과를 이용하여 미리내 II가 주어진 운영환경 내에서 임무시간동안 목표 궤도 진입이 가능한지를 분석하였다. 신뢰성 분석 과정에서는 작업분류체계(WBS)를 이용하여 시스템을 목록화 하였으며, 시스템의 작동개념도를 바탕으로 신뢰도 블록 선도(RBD)를 정립하여 신뢰성 구조를 파악하였다. FMEA를 통하여 구성품 및 부품들의 위험 우선순위를 판단하였고 위험도가 높은 구성품 및 부품들을 설계 변경한 결과, 목표 신뢰도를 만족하였으며 위성이 목표 궤도에 안전하게 진입될 수 있는 신뢰성 설계를 수행하였다.

고속 Line Center의 ATC 신뢰성 평가 (Reliability Evaluation of ATC for High-Speed Line Center)

  • Recently, the reliability evaluation and analysis are applied far many industrial products which are required to guarantee in quality and efficiency. The purpose of this paper is to present some of reliability evaluation methodologies that are applicable to machine tools. Especially ATC (Automatic Tool Changer), which is a core component of line center, was chosen as the target of the reliability evaluation and analysis. The scope of research is reliability prediction, reliability test and evaluates their results. The results of reliability evaluation have shown the failure rates, MTBF (Mean Time Between Failure), reliability for those components of ATC and real tests reliability through the constructed reliability test-bed. It is expected that proposed methodologies would increase reliability for a high-speed line center.

Reliability analysis of laterally loaded piles for an offshore wind turbine support structure using response surface methodology

  • With an increasing demand of a renewable energy, new offshore wind turbine farms are being planned in some parts of the world. Foundation installation asks a significant cost of the total budget of offshore wind turbine (OWT) projects. Hence, a cost reduction from foundation parts is a key element when a cost-efficient designing of OWT budget. Mono-piles have been largely used, accounting about 78% of existing OWT foundations, because they are considered as a most economical alternative with a relatively shallow-water, less than 30 m of seawater depth. OWT design standards such as IEC, GL, DNV, API, and Eurocode are being developed in a form of reliability based limit state design method. In this paper, reliability analysis using the response surface method (RSM) and numerical simulation technique for an OWT mono-pile foundation were performed to investigate the sensitivities of mono-pile design parameters, and to find practical implications of RSM reliability analysis.

슬라이딩 커버의 신뢰성 시험 및 구조개선 연구 (A study on the Reliability Experiment and the Structural Improvement of Sliding Cover)

  • Recently, the high-speed and intelligence technology of machine tools are developed for the high efficiency of productivity Under the operating condition from the high-speed of machine tools, the various failure modes can occur in core units of manufacturing system. Therefore it is for the reliability concept of machine tool to be required in a design level. And the above-stated technology must be accommodated in the feeding and spindle subsystem, etc those are the core units of machine tools. In this study, we are developed the test-bed of sliding cover (C-plate) in order to evaluating reliability and estimating failure modes of feeding subsystem under operating conditions. The reliability experiment using the developed test-bed and the additional structural analysis executed on single and double structure. We found out the weak parts of sliding cover and were able to predict a life cycle from the experiment results. In this study, we propose the new C-plate model with double link structure to apply the high-speed machine tool in the fundamental guideline.

스플라인 커플링의 프레팅 마멸 예측에 관한 연구 (A Study on Estimating of Fretting Wear of a Spline Coupling)

  • Fretting is a kind of wear which effects on reliability and durability. When machine parts are joined joint in parts such as a bolt or a rivet or a pin, fretting phenomenon is occurred by micro relative movement. When fretting occurs in joint parts, there is wear which is the cause of fatigue crack. Recently, although the ways of assessment of fatigue and damage tolerance are established, there is no way to evaluate fatigue crack initiation life by fretting phenomenon. Consequently, the prediction of life and prevention plan caused by fretting are needed to improve reliability. The objective of this paper is to predict fretting wear by using a experimental method and contact analysis considering wear process. For prediction of fretting wear volume, systematic and controlled experiments with a disc-plate contact under gross slip fretting conditions were carried out. A modified Archard equation is used to calculate wear depths from the contact pressure and stroke using wear coefficients obtained from the disc-plate fretting tests.
