Although population of the elderly is increasing rapidly, the older adults are the least users of the Internet in Korea. Prior research suggests that older adults are physically and psychologically disadvantaged when using the Internet. With the existence of the digital divide over different age groups, the objectives of this study were to identify the current status of Internet usage of Korean adults and to suggest some alternatives for solving digital divide on Internet usage. A total of 654 Korean adults, including the elderly, participated in both on-line and off-line (on-site interview) surveys using structured questionnaires. The results of statistical analyses indicated that the gap between the percentages of Internet users in younger and older groups was significantly wide, though many older adults had strong interests of Internet. To reduce this gap on digital divide, with an appropriate help from family and government, several characteristics of the elderly should be considered in designing some age-related web sites. Some effective alternatives suggested in this study may be used as basic data for universal design of Internet-oriented software.

The World Wide Web is a dynamic collection of pages that includes a huge number of hyperlinks and huge volumes of usage informations. The resulting growth in online information combined with the almost unstructured web data necessitates the development of powerful web data mining tools. Recently, a number of approaches have been developed for dealing with specific aspects of web usage mining for the purpose of automatically discovering user profiles. We analyze sequence data, such as web-logs, protein sequences, and retail transactions. In our approach, we propose the clustering algorithm for sequence data using rough set theory. We present a simple example and experimental results using a splice dataset and synthetic datasets.

Mobile easy payment is a term for using mobile devices to facilitate financial transactions. Mobile easy payment is a quickly emerging practice, supported by the dramatic increase of mobile phone or device users around the world. The purpose of this study is to classify user's group of the mobile easy payment service by their lifestyle based on I-VALS type and to investigate differences in usage behavior among the user groups. For empirical study, a questionnaire survey was carried out with users of mobile easy payment services using the Internet from June 7 to 10 in 2016. We conducted factor analysis for I-VALS, usage factors, satisfaction factors. We also performed cluster analysis for group classification, and analysis of variance, cross analysis to compare the different usage behavior among the user groups. In analysis results, first three cluster appeared including "ICT task-oriented group", ICT positive and socialities oriented group", "ICT leader-oriented group". Second, it was found significant differences among the clusters about factor of "easy of use", "securities", "universality", "satisfaction". Third, we showed that there were significant differences in time first used the service. Based on these findings, we provide practical implications. Results of our study can be expected to provide the basis of differentiated marketing strategy of mobile easy payment services.

In many countries, the electric power industry is undergoing significant changes known as deregulation and restructuring. These alterations introduce competition in generation and retail and require open access to the transmission network. The competition of the electric power industry causes many issues to surface. Among them, unbundling of the transmission service is probably the most complicated as it is a single and integrated sector and the transmission revenue requirement must be allocated to market participants in a fair way. In these situations, it is valuable to research the methodologies to allocate transmission usage. The power tracing method offers useful information such as which generators supply a particular load or how much each generator (load) uses a particular transmission line. With this information, we can allocate required transmission revenue to market participants. Recently, several algorithms were proposed for tracing power flow but there is no dominant power tracing method. This paper proposes a power tracing method based on graph theory and complex-current distribution. For practicability, the proposed method for transmission usage allocation is applied to IEEE 30 buses and compared with the method proposed by Felix F.Wu.

In this research, a sample was selected from a public library in Paju city, which operates a regional collaborative library system. They collected data on materials, usage, and acquisition. An analysis of book collection data and usage data was also conducted in order to evaluate the correlation between the usage and acquisition by comparing overlap of purchased materials. As a result, circulations and the interlibrary loan (ILL) borrowing requests were differentiated by topics according to targeted materials, and that these characteristics affect the overlap of purchased materials. The study suggested that public libraries in the region collaborative library system need to consider the paradigm of collection and access when purchasing books.

The current settlement and distribution used in theme, background and signal music market other than conventional music is being carried out with either the comprehensive settlement method or the measured meter-rate settlement method in the payment process of collected user fees and compensation depending on the use-permission types. In this settlement and distribution process, however, the reliability issues are often being raised because of the difficulty of tracking rights due to changes in music source rights management information, etc, and the opaque settlement and distribution method itself. This paper proposes a new settlement and distribution platform using a blockchain for the reliable collection and distribution of copyright fees among music user group, monitoring organization group, trust organization group and copyright holders, based on the monitoring information of the theme, background and signal music usage. This platform also provides the transparency in settlement and distribution process among stakeholders through smart contract system.

This study was investigated the Influential Factors on Chinese Consumer's Usage Intention of Mobile Internet Service. The results of this study are as follows. First, Usefulness, Easy of Use, Subjective Norm, playfulness are positively related to Perceived value. Second, perceived risk is negatively related to Perceived value. Third, Perceived value is positively related to Intention of Mobile Internet Usage. Based on these results, managerial implications for Mobile internet service are discussed. Lastly, the limitation of this research and further research issues are suggested.

This study aimed at elementary, middle, and high school dietitians who purchase ingredients for school meals. Therefore, for the study, the awareness and usage of nutritional information by 108 teachers and dieticians on 5 hazard-free meals using multivariate analysis of variance were investigated during May 18~21, 2021. Among the five questions that asked the general perceptions of school meal dietitians of 5 hazard-free meals, the perception that the "5 hazard-free foods can be easily distinguished" was the lowest. Problems were associated with using the 5 hazard-free meals such as "expensive price," "no variety in items," "disruption in the supply and demand," "inconsistent quality," and "lack of taste," in that order. Therefore, to improve 5 hazard-free school meal service, it is necessary to not only lower the price burden by providing subsidies to schools but also improve the development and distribution structure of various 5 hazard-free foods.

Academic analytics guides university decision-makers to assign limited resources more effectively. Especially, diverse academic courses clustered by the usage patterns and levels on Learning Management System(LMS) help understanding instructors' pedagogical approach and the integration level of technologies. Further, the clustering results can contribute deciding proper range and levels of financial and technical supports. However, in spite of diverse analytic methodologies, clustering analysis methods often provide different results. The purpose of this study is to present implications by using three different clustering analysis including Gaussian Mixture Model, K-Means clustering, and Hierarchical clustering. As a case, we have clustered academic courses based on the usage levels and patterns of LMS in higher education using those three clustering techniques. In this study, 2,639 courses opened during 2013 fall semester in a large private university located in South Korea were analyzed with 13 observation variables that represent the characteristics of academic courses. The results of analysis show that the strengths and weakness of each clustering analysis and suggest that academic leaders and university staff should look into the usage levels and patterns of LMS with more elaborated view and take an integrated approach with different analytic methods for their strategic decision on development of LMS.

Second-hand trading platforms have emerged as a major transaction method among people, and are particularly quite popular with the MZ Generation (Millennial + Generation Z). These generations are more open to transactions through such platforms. Understanding and analyzing these platforms from the perspective of their primary users can help businesses establish effective marketing strategies and attract new customers. This study examines the effect of second-hand trading platforms on usage intention by dividing the benefits into functional, economic, environmental, social, and hedonic categories for MZ generation consumers who have traded fashion products on such platforms. In addition, it explores how differences in fashion leadership affect the relationship between platform benefits, trust, and attitude. A total of 400 participants were analyzed using IBM SPSS Statistics 26.0 and IBM AMOS 24.0. The results indicate that the benefits of second-hand trading platforms have a significant impact on trust in and attitude toward these platforms. Furthermore, the effect of platform benefits on consumer responses varied based on the extent of fashion leadership. This study provides practical insights for developing marketing strategies for second-hand transaction platforms and underscores the academic significance of studying consumer behavior in a second-hand fashion markets.
