심실중격결손 교정술 전후의 심실 수축기 시간 간격 (Ventricular Systolic Time Interval)의 변화 (Effect of Surgical Closure of Ventricular Septal Defect on Ventricular Systolic Time Intervals)

  • 배경: 단순 심실중격결손증의 수술적 교정이 심실 수행능력의 지표로 사용되는 심실 수축기 시간 간격에 미치는 영향을 알아보기 위하여 심초음파를 이용하여 심실 수축기 시간 간격을 측정하였다. 대상 및 방법: 대상 환아는 비제한성 심실중격결손을 가진 30명으로 수술 당시 환자들의 평균 나이는 6.5$\pm$3.2개월이었다. 심초음파를 이용한 추적 평가 항목은 좌심방/대동맥 내경비, 좌심실 구축율, 좌심실 수축기 시간간격 및 우심실 수축기 시간 간격을 조사하였다. 심초음파는 술 전과 술 후(술 후 첫 번째: 수술 후 2주이내, 술 후 두 번째: 수술 후 4~6개월, 술 후 세 번째: 수술 후 1~2년)에 실시하였다. 결과: 좌심방/대동맥 비는 수술 직후 감소하였으나(1.74$\pm$0.37 to 1.36$\pm$0.24*, 1.32$\pm$0.22*, and 1.27$\pm$0.19*, p<0.01:술 전과 비교), 좌심실 구축률은 추적 기간 동안 유의한 변화는 관찰되지 않았다(65.1$\pm$7.0 to 62.3$\pm$$\pm$9.5, 62.8$\pm$5.7, and 64.1$\pm$6.9 단위 %). 좌심실 수축기 시간 간격(LVPEP/LVET)은 술 후 두 번째부터 감소하기 시작하여, 지속적으로 유의한 감소 추세를 보였다(0.46$\pm$0.13 to 0.46$\pm$0.11, 0.37$\pm$0.08*, and 0.34$\pm$0.07*, p<0.01:술 전과 비교). 우심실 수축기 시간 간격(RVPEP/RVET)은 술 후 1년이 경과 한 후부터 유의한 감소를 보였다(0.33$\pm$0.08 to 0.32$\pm$0.08, 0.31$\pm$0.07, and 0.27$\pm$0.05*, p<0.01:술 전과 비교). 결론: 심실중격결손증 수술 후 심실의 수축기 시간 간격은 술 후 1년 후까지도 지속적으로 감소하는 경향을 보였다. 따라서 이 기간동안에는 추적관찰이 필요한 것으로 생각된다.

다양한 신질환을 가진 소아에서 Cystatin C 검사의 임상적 유용성 (The Clinical Usefulness of Cystatin C in Evaluating Renal Function in Children with Various Renal Diseases)

  • 목 적 :사구체 여과율은 신손상 정도와 진행을 예측하는데 중요한 척도이다. 현재까지는 혈청 creatinine을 광범위하게 사용하고 있으나 creatinine의 많은 단점으로 인해 새로운 내부표지자의 필요성이 대두되었고 cystatin C가 새로운 신기능 지표로 주목을 받고 있다. 이에 본 연구는 cystatin C의 유용성을 확인하고자 creatinine과 비교하여 연구를 진행하였다. 방 법 : 2004년 8월부터 2006년 12월까지 연세대학교 세브란스 병원 소아과를 내원한 환자들로서 다양한 신질환을 가지고 있는 43명(총 검사 횟수는 60회)을 대상으로 하였으며 creatinine, cystain C, creatinine 청소율을 측정하였고 creatinine 청소율이 감소된 환자를 그 정도에 따라 3군(Group 1 CrCl < 40mL/min/$1.73m^2$, Group 2 :CrCl 40-60 mL/min/$1.73m^2$, Group 3 : CrCl >60 mL/min/$1.73m^2$)으로 나누어 비교하였다. 결과 : Creatinine 청소율과 1/cystatin C 및 1/creatinine의 상관성을 분석하였고 각각의 상관계수는 0.685(P<0.01)와 0.640(P<0.01)이였다. Creatinine 청소율이 80 mL/min/$1.73m^2$ 이하로 감소함을 검출할 진단적 정확도는 ROC curve로 분석한 결과 AUC가 cystatin C와 creatinine에서 각각 0.829, 0.826로 큰 차이를 보이지 않았다(P=0.848). Creatinine clearance가 40 mL/min/$1.73m^2$ 이상에서는 cystatin C가 creatinine보다 높은 민감도를 보이고 있었다(Group 1 : 100% vs. 100%, Group 2 : 70% vs. 35%, Group 3 : 46% vs. 15%). 결론 : Cystatin C는 사구체 여과율을 측정하기 위한 유용한 내부 표지자이며 신기능 손상을 creatinine 보다 일찍 발견할 수 있다는 점에서 향후 신손상 검출을 위한 선별 검사로서 유용성이 높을 것으로 생각된다.

긍정적 감성경험에 의한 심박변이도의 변화에 대한 연구 - 2002 한일 월드컵 행사가 한국의 국민 정서와 건강에 미친 영향을 중심으로 - (A Study on the Positive Emotional Effects on Heart Rate Variability - Focused on Effects of '2002 FIFA World Cup' Sports Event on Emotion and General Health of Korean People -)

  • 본 논문은 긍정적인 정신적 흥분이 자율신경계에 어떤 영향을 주는 지에 대하여 연구하였다. 2002년 한일 월드컵 기간 중 국민이 경험한 정신적, 신체적 상태의 변화를 자율신경 평가 도구인 심박변이도(HRV)를 통하여 평가하였다. 실험 대상은 월드컵군과 정상 대조군으로 나누어 심박변이도 분석을 실시하였다. 대조군은 수도권 2개 대학병원 건강검진센터에 내원한 건강한 $20{\sim}}30$대 남녀 675명을 대상으로 선정하였고, 월드컵군은 수도권 소재 월드컵 경기장 3개소에서 경기를 관전하기 위하여 대기중인 20-30대 남녀 468명을 대상으로 하였다. 데이터분석은 남녀의 생리학적인 차이를 고려하여 남성군과 여성군으로 나누어 분석하였다. 그 결과, 지금까지 알려져 있던 스트레스 반응과는 다른 경향을 관찰 할 수 있었다. 일반적으로 스트레스 상태에서는 평균 심박수가 증가하는 것 이외에 다른 지표들은 감소하는 경향을 나타낸다. 그러나 긍정 스트레스(eustress) 상태에서 심박수와 SDNN 모두 유의하게 높은 것을 관찰 할 수 있었다(p<0.05). 특히 여성 그룹의 경우, 부정 스트레스(distress) 상태와는 반대로, 모든 주파수분석 파라메타가 유의하게 높게 나타났다(p<0.05, p<0.001). 심박변이도의 감소가 건강 상실의 지표가 된다는 점을 고려해 볼 때, SDNN의 증가와 모든 주파수 파라메타의 증가는 자율신경의 항상성조절 기전이 긍정적으로 작동하고 있음을 의미한다. 따라서 전 세계적인 스포츠 이벤트로 인한 긍정 스트레스상태의 유발이 국민 건강에도 긍정적인 영향을 준다고 할 수 있다.

  • 페롭스카이트 $La_{0.6}Sr_{0.4}Co_{1-x}Fe_xO_3$(x=0.00, 0.01, 0.10, 0.20, 0.35, 및 0.50)를 산소전극물질로 사용하여 알칼리형 연료전지에서의 산소환원반응을 연구하였다. Fe치환에 따른 촉매특성의 변화를 X-선회절분석법(XRD), 열중량분석법(TG) 및 승온환원법(TPR)을 통하여 조사하였다. XRD 구조분석을 통하여 페롭스카이트 단위격자의 격자상수값을 측정할 수 있었다. TG 실험결과 Fe는 페롭스카이트 구조내에서 크게 안정화되어 $900^{\circ}C$까지 거의 환원되지 않았고, Fe치환량 증가에 따라 Co-O간의 결합에너지가 증가하여 고온에서 제거되는 산소종의 양이 증가하였다. TPR 실험결과, ${\alpha}$-(저온피크)와 ${\beta}$-(고온피크)산소종이 존재하였다. ${\beta}$-산소종은 Co와 강하게 결합되어 있는 산소종으로서 Fe치환량 증가에 따라 결합세기가 증가하였다. ${\alpha}$-산소종은 가역적으로 격자내외를 출입하는 산소환원반응의 활성종이었으며, Fe치환량 증가에 따른 격자상수의 증가는 금속과 ${\alpha}$-산소종간의 결합에너지로 볼 수 있는 ${\alpha}$산소종의 환원피크를 저온으로 이동시킴으로써 산소환원반응의 활성을 증가시켰다. 반면에, Fe치환량 증가에 따른 ${\alpha}$-산소종의 감소는 산소환원반응의 활성을 감소시켰으며, Fe치환에 따른 표면적의 증가는 반응활성에 크게 영향을 미치지 못하였다.

치유 절제술을 받은 위암 환자에서의 3년 무병생존이 5년 전체생존을 대치할 수 있는가? (Can 3-year Disease-free Survival be Substituted for 5-year Overall Survival in Curatively Resected Gastric Cancer?)

  • 배경: 대부분의 악성종양에 있어 그 치료성적을 평가하는 가장 유용한 방법으로 가장 많이 사용되는 매개변수는 전체 5년 생존율이다. 그러나 근치적 절제술이 시행된 위암환자에 있어 재발의 대부분은 수술 후 3년 이내에 일어나므로 3년 무병 생존이 5년 전체 생존의 의미를 대치할 수 있는가를 알아보고자 한다. 대상 및 방법: 근치적 위절제술을 받고 추적이 가능한 656예에서 생존 함수로 산출한 각각의 생존확률을 이용한 단순 회귀분석에서 3년 무병 생존이 5년 전체 생존을 대치할 수 있는지를 파악하였다. 결과: 추적 기간동안 175예에서 재발이 확인되었고, 재발시기별 누적빈도는 수술 후 1년이 81예(46%), 3년이 156예(89%), 5년이 170예(97%)였다. 3년 무병 생존확률과 5년 전체 생존확률 사이의 회귀 분석결과 상관성은 r=0.87, 설명력은 $R^2=0.76$, 회귀 방정식은 5년 전체 생존확률=0.18+($0.80{\times}3$년 무병 생존확률)을 나타냈다. 복막파종, 혈행성 전이, 국소 재발의 경우 상관성과 설명력은 각각 $r=0.89\;(R^2=0.80),\;r=0.88\;(R^2=0.78),\;r=0.86\;(R^2=0.73)$으로 모두 높은 상관관계가 있음을 나타냈다. 결론: 위암환자의 근치적 위절제술 후 3년 무병 생존 확률은 5년 전체 생존확률에 대한 높은 상관성 및 설명력을 보였다. 위암의 치료성적을 평가하는 방법으로 5년 전체 생존 대신에 3년 무병 생존을 이용한다면 기간을 단축(2년)하여 평가하고 결론을 얻고 또한 보고할 수 있는 이득이 있겠다.

사과 점무늬낙엽병(斑點落葉病)예찰을 위한 한 경험적 모델 (An Empirical Model for Forecasting Alternaria Leaf Spot in Apple)

  • 사과 점무늬낙엽병(斑點落葉病)의 초발(初發)과 초발후의 병진전을 예찰하기 위하여 기상요인중에서 적산온도(積算)와 강우빈도를 사용하여 예찰할 수 있는 경험적 모델이 3년간의 포장시험으로 작성되었다. 사과의 생육기간중 4월 20일부터 7월말까지 기상요인을 측정, 분석하었고 이들 기상요인들이 모델작성의 변량(變量)으로써 사용되었다. 하루의 평균온도에서 $10^{\circ}C$를 뺀 온도가 적산되어(CDP) 대기온도와 점무늬낙엽병초발과의 관계를 알기위한 한 모수(母數)로서 사용되었다. 병의 초발에 필요한 CDP는 약 160으로서 이 수치는 초발에 필요한 CDP의 하한(下限)온도로 사용되었다. 160 CDP가 도달된 후에는 강우 빈도가 초발을 결정하는 요인이었으며 적어도 4번의 강우가 초발에 필요하였다. 초발후의 병진전은 대체로 강우 빈도가 누적되는 모양과 유사하였다. 병진전의 일반 미분(微分)방정식모델 dx/dt=xr(1-x)에서 산출된 3개년의 병진전 직선의 명백한 감염속도(r)는 강우빈도의 누적율(Rc)과 1차(직선)기능으로서 직선방정식 r=1.06Rc-0.11($R^2=0.993$)에서 직접 추정이 가능하였다. 일정시간(t)후의 발병정도(x)는 미분방정식 모델에서 유도된 지수(指數)방정식 $[x/(1-x)]=[x_0/(1-x)]e^{(b_0+b_1R_c)t}$에서 예측될 수 있는데 이때의 $x_0$는 초발시발병정도 $b_0$$b_1$은 강우빈도 누적률 Rc의 모수(母數)이다. Alternaria mali 분생포자의 공기증밀도의 매일의 누적치와 병진전과는 통계상 유의적인 1차관계(linear relationship)가 있었는데 공기중 분생포자 밀도의 누적치를 독립변량으로 사용하여 병진전을 예측하였을때 예측의 정확도는 $R^2=0.3328$로서 비교적 낮았다.

깊이 센서 기반 모션 분석 시스템을 사용한 어깨 운동학 조사 (Investigation for Shoulder Kinematics Using Depth Sensor-Based Motion Analysis System)

  • 목적: 견관절의 운동 기능에 대한 평가는 견관절 질환의 진단 및 경과를 파악하는 데 있어 중요하다. 본 연구는 정상군 및 견관절질환을 가진 환자군에 대해 깊이 센서 기반 동작 분석 시스템을 통한 관절 운동을 동적으로 분석하여 문헌 고찰과 함께 보고하는 바이다. 대상 및 방법: 70명의 피험자가 연구에 참여하였으며 정상군 30명과 견관절 질환을 가진 환자 40명으로 분류하였다. 견관절 질환을 가진 환자 40명은 4가지 질환(회전근개 파열, 유착성 활액막염, 충돌 증후군, 회전근개 관절병증)으로 세분화하였다. 총 3회 반복된 외전 및 내전 운동 시 시간에 따른 각도를 깊이 센서 기반 동작 분석 시스템으로 측정하였으며, 최대 외전 각도, 최대 외전 각 속도, 최대 내전 각속도, 외전/내전 시간 비를 계산하였다. 상기 매개 변수들에 대해 정상군 30명과 환자군 40명을 비교하는 한편, 정상군 30명과 4가지 질환군별 10명, 총 5개 군을 비교하였다. 결과: 견관절 질환을 가진 환자군에서는 정상군에 비해 감소된 최대 외전 각도(θmax), 최대 외전 각속도(ωmax), 최대 내전 각속도(ωmin)를 보였으며, 증가된 외전/내전 시간 비(tabd/tadd)를 보였다. 세분화된 질환군별 비교에서는 최대 외전 각도(θmax)와 최대 외전각속도(ωmax)가 정상군에 비해 유착성 활액막염 환자군 및 회전근개 관절병증 환자군에서 감소되었고, 외전/내전 시간 비(tabd/tadd)가 정상군에 비해 유착성 활액막염 환자군, 회전근개 파열 환자군 및 회전근개 관절병증 환자군에서 증가되었다. 결론: 깊이 센서 기반 동작 분석 시스템을 사용한 견관절의 운동 분석을 통해 관절 운동 범위뿐 아니라 각속도 등의 동적 운동 변수를 측정할 수 있었으며, 이를 통해 견관절의 더 정확한 기능 평가 및 심도 있는 질환의 이해가 가능할 것이다.

  • The wall shear stress in the vicinity of end-to end anastomoses under steady flow conditions was measured using a flush-mounted hot-film anemometer(FMHFA) probe. The experimental measurements were in good agreement with numerical results except in flow with low Reynolds numbers. The wall shear stress increased proximal to the anastomosis in flow from the Penrose tubing (simulating an artery) to the PTFE: graft. In flow from the PTFE graft to the Penrose tubing, low wall shear stress was observed distal to the anastomosis. Abnormal distributions of wall shear stress in the vicinity of the anastomosis, resulting from the compliance mismatch between the graft and the host artery, might be an important factor of ANFH formation and the graft failure. The present study suggests a correlation between regions of the low wall shear stress and the development of anastomotic neointimal fibrous hyperplasia(ANPH) in end-to-end anastomoses. 30523 T00401030523 ^x Air pressure decay(APD) rate and ultrafiltration rate(UFR) tests were performed on new and saline rinsed dialyzers as well as those roused in patients several times. C-DAK 4000 (Cordis Dow) and CF IS-11 (Baxter Travenol) reused dialyzers obtained from the dialysis clinic were used in the present study. The new dialyzers exhibited a relatively flat APD, whereas saline rinsed and reused dialyzers showed considerable amount of decay. C-DAH dialyzers had a larger APD(11.70$\pm$1.32mmHg/min)compared to CF dialyzers(4.32$\pm$0.55mmHg/min)(p<0.05). However, there was no observable difference in the UFR between the two dialyzers. Neither APD nor UFR showed any significant increase with an increasing number of reuses for up to more than 20reuses. A substantial number of failures observed in APD(larger than 20mmHe/min)on the reused dialyzers(2 out of 40 CP and S out 26 C-DAK) were attributed to the Possible damage on the fibers. The CF 15-11 HFDs which failed APD test did not show changes in the UFR compared to normal dialyzers indicating that APD is a more sensitive test than UFR test to evaluate the integrity of the fibers. 30527 T00401030527 ^x For quantitative measurement of reflected light from a clinical diagnostic strip, a prototype old reflectance photometer was designed. The strip loader and cassette were made to obtain more accurate reflectance parameters. The strip was illuminated at 45˚c through optical fiber and the intensity of reflected light was determined at rectanguLat angle using a photodiode. The kubelka-munk coefficient and reflection optical density were determined ar four different wavelengths(500, 550, 570 and 610nm) for blood glucose strip. For higher concentration than 300mg/41 about glucose, a saturation state of abforbance was observed at 500, 550 and 570nm. The mice were divided into two groups. One group was injected with Photofrin II, intravenously (2.5mg/kg body weight). The other group received no Photofrin II. Mice from both groups were irradialed for approximately 15 minutes at 100, 300, or 500 mW/cm2 with the argon (488nm/514.5 nm), dye(628nm) and gold vapor (pulsed 628 nm) laser light. A photosensitizer behaved as an added absorber. Under our experimental conditions, the presence of Photolfrin II increased surface temperature by at least 40% and the temperature rise due to 300 mW/cm2 irradiation exceeded values for hyperthermia. Light and temperature distributions with depth were estimated by a computer model. The model demonstrated the influence of wavelength on the thermal process and proved to be a valuable tool to investigate internal temperature rise. 30536 T00401030536 ^x We investigated the structural geometry of thirty-eight Korean femurs. The purpose of this study is to identify major geometrical differences between Korean femurs 3nd others that we believe belong to Caucasians so that we would be able to get insights into the femoral component design that fits Asians including Koreans. We utilized computerized tomography (CT) images of femurs extracted from cadavers. The CT images were transformed into bitmap data by using a film scanner, and then analyzed by using a commercially available software called Image v.1.0 and a Macintosh IIci computer.The resulting data were compared with already published data. The major results show that the geometry of the Korean femurs is significantly different from that of Caucasians: (1) the anteversion angle and the canal flare index are greater by the amount of approximately 8˚ and 0.5, respectively, (2) the shape of the isthmus cross section is more round, and (3) the distance between the teaser trochanter and the proximal border of the isthmus is shelter by about 15 mm. The results suggested that the femoral component suitable for Asians should be different from the currently-used components designed and manufactured mostly by European or American companies. 30537 T00401030537 ^x It is well known that nonlinear propagation characteristics of the wave in the tissue may give very useful information for the medical diagnoisis. In this paper, a new method to detect nonlinear propagation characteristics of the internal vibration in the tissue for the low frequency mechanical vibration by using bispectral analysis is proposed. In the method, low frequency vibration of f0( = 100Hz) is applied on the surface of the object, and the waveform of the internal vibration x (t) is measured from Doppler frequency modulation of silmultaneously transmitted probing ultrasonic waves. Then, the bispectra of the signal x (t) at the frequencies (f0, f0) and (f0, 2f0) are calculated to estimate the nonlinear propagation characteristics as their magnitude ratio, w here since bispectrum is free from the gaussian additive noise we can get the value with high S/N. Basic experimental system is constructed by using 3.0 MHz probing ultrasonic waves and the several experiments are carried out for some phantoms. The system based on PC-486DX was designed to acquire medical images produced by medical imaging instruments and related audio information, that is, doctors' reporting results. Input information was processed and analyzed, then the results were presented in the form of graph and animation.   • The wall shear stress in the vicinity of end-to end anastomoses under steady flow conditions was measured using a flush-mounted hot-film anemometer(FMHFA) probe. The experimental measurements were in good agreement with numerical results except in flow with low Reynolds numbers. The wall shear stress increased proximal to the anastomosis in flow from the Penrose tubing (simulating an artery) to the PTFE: graft. In flow from the PTFE graft to the Penrose tubing, low wall shear stress was observed distal to the anastomosis. Abnormal distributions of wall shear stress in the vicinity of the anastomosis, resulting from the compliance mismatch between the graft and the host artery, might be an important factor of ANFH formation and the graft failure. The present study suggests a correlation between regions of the low wall shear stress and the development of anastomotic neointimal fibrous hyperplasia(ANPH) in end-to-end anastomoses. 30523 T00401030523 ^x Air pressure decay(APD) rate and ultrafiltration rate(UFR) tests were performed on new and saline rinsed dialyzers as well as those roused in patients several times. C-DAK 4000 (Cordis Dow) and CF IS-11 (Baxter Travenol) reused dialyzers obtained from the dialysis clinic were used in the present study. The new dialyzers exhibited a relatively flat APD, whereas saline rinsed and reused dialyzers showed considerable amount of decay. C-DAH dialyzers had a larger APD(11.70${\pm}$1.32mmHg/min)compared to CF dialyzers(4.32${\pm}$0.55mmHg/min)(p<0.05). However, there was no observable difference in the UFR between the two dialyzers. Neither APD nor UFR showed any significant increase with an increasing number of reuses for up to more than 20reuses. A substantial number of failures observed in APD(larger than 20mmHe/min)on the reused dialyzers(2 out of 40 CP and S out 26 C-DAK) were attributed to the Possible damage on the fibers. We utilized computerized tomography (CT) images of femurs extracted from cadavers. The CT images were transformed into bitmap data by using a film scanner, and then analyzed by using a commercially available software called Image v.1.0 and a Macintosh IIci computer.The resulting data were compared with already published data. The major results show that the geometry of the Korean femurs is significantly different from that of Caucasians: (1) the anteversion angle and the canal flare index are greater by the amount of approximately 8˚ and 0.5, respectively, (2) the shape of the isthmus cross section is more round, and (3) the distance between the teaser trochanter and the proximal border of the isthmus is shelter by about 15 mm. The important parameters of this process are the conduction loss to laser power absorption (defined as the conduction-to-laser power parameter, Nk), the convection heat transfer at the surface to conduction loss (defined as Bi), dimensionless extinction coefficient (defined as Br.), and dimensionless irradiation time (defined as Fo). Dependence of Fo on Nk and Bi has been observed by experiment, and the results have been compared with the numerical results obtained by solving a 2-dimensional conduction equation. Fo and explosion depth (from the surface to the point of maximun temperature) are increased when Nk and Bi are increased.To find out the minimum laser power for explosive evaporative removal process, steady state analysis has been also made. Optimal stimulus parameters, which can minimize muscle fatigue and can achieve effective muscle contraction were determined in slow and fast muscles in Sprague-Dawley rats. Stimulus patterns of our stimulator were designed to simulate electromyographic activity monitored during locomotion of normal subjects. Muscle types of the lower extremity were classified according to their mechanical property of contraction, which are slow muscle (msoleus m.) and fast muscle (medial gastrocneminus m., rectus femoris m., vastus lateralis m.). Optimal parameters of electrical stimulation for slow muscles were 20 Hz, 0.2 ms square pulse. For fast muscle, 40 Hz, 0.3 ms square pulse was optimal to produce repeated contraction. 쥬라기 화강암류에서 발달된 1번 면, 2번 면 및 3번 면의 역학적 특성 (Mechanical Characteristics of the Rift, Grain and Hardway Planes in Jurassic Granites, Korea)

  • 화강암 석산에서 1번 면, 2번 면 및 3번 면으로 알려진 세 직교하는 분할면의 강도 특성을 검토하였다. R, G 및 H 공시체는 거창 및 합천 지역에서 분포하는 쥬라기 화강암류의 블럭 샘플로부터 획득하였다. 이들 세 공시체의 장축의 방향은 세 면 각각에 수직이다. 세 면에 대한 판별에 유용한 주요 사항은 다음과 같다. 첫째, R, G 및 H 공시체의 일축압축강도와 관련된 세 그래프의 스케일링 특성을 보여 주는 도면을 작성하였다. 강도의 증가에 따라 세 공시체의 그래프는 H < G < R의 순으로 배열한다. 공시체 내부의 조직균일도를 지시하는 세 공시체에 대한 그래프의 경사각을 비교하였다. H 공시체(θH, 24.0°~37.3°)에 대한 상기한 각이 세 공시체 중에서 가장 낮다. 둘째, 두 공시체의 평균압축강도의 조합을 나타내는 RG, GH 및 RH 공시체의 세 그래프와 관련된 스케일링 특성을 도출하였다. 다양한 형태를 취하는 이들 세 그래프는 GH < RH < RG의 순으로 배열한다. 섯째, 강도차(Δσt)와 경사각(θ) 사이의 상관도를 작성하였다. 위의 두 파라미터는 -0.003의 지수(λ)를 갖는 지수함수의 상관성을 보여 준다. 두 화강암에서, RH-그래프의 경사각(θRH)이 가장 낮다. 넷째, 세 공시체에 대한 세 종류의 압축강도 그리고 각 공시체에 가해진 압축하중에 평행 배열하는 두 조의 미세균열에 대한 다섯 파라미터 사이의 상관 관계를 보여 주는 여섯 유형의 도면을 작성하였다. 거창 및 합천화강암에 대한 이들 도면으로부터, 빈도수(N, 0.872) 및 밀도(ρ, 0.874)와 함께 총 길이(Lt)에 대한 상관계수(R2)의 평균값(0.877)이 가장 높다. 또한, 세 공시체의 최소(0.768) 및 최대(0.804)의 압축강도에 비하여 평균압축강도와 관련된 상관계수의 값(0.829)이 보다 높다. 다섯째, 거창화강암의 세 공시체에서 발달된 상기의 두 조의 미세균열과 평행한 방향으로 측정한 압열인장강도의 분포 특성을 도출하였다. 관련 도면으로부터, R, G 및 H 공시체에 해당하는 이들 인장강도에 대한 세 그래프는 H(R1+G1) < G(R2+H1) < R(R1+G1)의 순을 보여 준다. 인장강도에 대한 세 그래프의 배열순과 압축강도에 대한 세 그래프의 배열순과 상호 부합한다. 따라서, 세 공시체의 압축강도는 상기한 세 유형의 인장강도와 상호 비례한다. 여섯째, 상기한 세 그래프에서 도출한 각 누적수(N=1~10)에 해당하는 세 인장강도 그리고 각 그래프에 해당하는 다섯 파라미터의 값 사이의 상관 계수를 도출하였다. 10개의 상관도에서 도출한 각 파라미터에 대한 상관 계수의 평균값은 밀도(0.763) < 총 길이(0.817) < 빈도수(0.839) < 평균 길이(Lm, 0.901) ≤ 중앙 길이(Lmed, 0.903)의 순으로 증가한다. 일곱째, 세 공시체에 대한 일축압축강도 그리고 압열인장강도 사이의 상관도를 작성하였다. 상기한 상관도는 세 종류의 압축강도 그리고 다섯 그룹(A~E)의 인장강도를 근거로 아홉 유형으로 분류하였다. 관련 도면으로부터, 최소압축강도를 제외한 평균 및 최대압축강도와 함께 인장강도가 증가할수록, 상관계수의 값은 급격하게 증가한다.
