This paper analyzed the recommendation stories in the online journalism on the user's news choice by college students in two ways. One way is recommendation stories, and the other one is their arrangement and the index of use. From the results of the analysis, 7 out of 11 types of recommendation stories had positive effects on selecting news stories, while the 4 other types had little effect. Most of the recommendation stories that had little effect on the user's news selection were 'comments' or 'things' related to tweets' on SNS. The arrangements of new stories and the searched keywords had some effects on the user's news choice but had no effect on the index of use. In addition, the hours of using news stories and the types of recommendation stories were mostly correlated with each other. Consequently, formal factors, such as the arrangement of news stories and the recommendation stories of online journalism, had positive effects on the user's news selection, as well as headlines and keywords of news stories.
This paper proposes a semantic recommendation technique for a personalized e-commerce portal. Semantic recommendation is achieved by utilizing the attributes of products. The semantic similarity of the products is merged with the rating information of the products to provide an accurate recommendation. The recommendation technique also analyzes various attitudes of the customer to evaluate the implicit rating of products. Attitudes are classifies into three types such as "purchasing product", "adding product to shopping cart", and "viewing the product information." We implicitly track customer attitude to estimate the rating of products for recommending products. Also we implement a session validation process to identify the valid sessions that are highly important for giving an accurate recommendation. Our recommendation technique shows a high degree of accuracy as we use age groupings of customers with similar preferences. The experimental section shows that our proposed recommendation method outperforms well known collaborative filtering methods not only for the existing customer, but also for the new user with no previous purchase record.

In this paper, we propose a music recommendation method considering users' tags by collaborative tagging in a social music site. Since collaborative tagging allows a user to add keywords chosen by himself to web resources, it provides users' preference about the web resources concretely. In particular, emotional tags which represent human's emotion contain users' musical preference more directly than factual tags which represent facts such as musical genre and artists. Therefore, to classify the tags into the emotional tags and the factual tags and to assign weighted values to the emotional tags, a tag ontology called UniTag is developed. After preprocessing the tags, the weighted tags are used to create user profiles, and the music recommendation algorithm is executed based on the profiles. To evaluate the proposed method, a conventional playcount-based recommendation, an unweighted tag-based recommendation, and an weighted tag-based recommendation are executed. Our experimental results show that the weighted tag-based recommendation outperforms other two approaches in terms of precision.

In this paper, we propose an Recommendation System for supporting self-directed learning on e-learning marketplace. The key idea of this system is recommendation system using revised collaborative filtering to support marketplace. Exisiting collaborative filtering method consists of 3 stages as preparing low data, building familiar customer group by selecting nearest neighbor, creating recommendation list. This study designs recommendation system to support self-directed learning by using collaborative filtering added nearest neighbor learning course that considered industry and learning level. This service helps to select right learning course to learner in industry. Recommendation System can be built by many method and to recommend the service content including explicit properties using revised collaborative filtering method can solve limitations in existing content recommendation.
The advancement of information technology and the popularization of Internet has explosively increased the amount of multimedia contents. Therefore, the requirement of multimedia recommendation to satisfy a user's needs increases fastly. Up to now, CF is used to recommend general items and multimedia contents. However, general CF doesn't reflect visual characteristics of image contents so that it can't be adaptable to image recommendation. Besides, it has limitations in new item recommendation, the sparsity problem, and dynamic change of user preference. In this paper, we present new image recommendation method FBCF (Feature Based Collaborative Filtering) to resolve such problems. FBCF builds new user profile by clustering visual features in terms of user preference, and reflects user's current preference to recommendation by using preference feedback. Experimental result using real mobile images demonstrate that FBCF outperforms conventional CF by 400% in terms of recommendation ratio.

In this paper, we propose a hybrid music recommendation system combining users' listening habits and tag information in a social music site. Most of commercial music recommendation systems recommend music items based on the number of plays and explicit ratings of a song. However, the approach has some difficulties in recommending new items with only a few ratings or recommending items to new users with little information. To resolve the problem, we use tag information which is generated by collaborative tagging. According to the meaning of tags, a weighted value is assigned as the score of a tag of an music item. By combining the score of tags and the number of plays, user profiles are created and collaborative filtering algorithm is executed. For performance evaluation, precision, recall, and F-measure are calculated using the listening habit-based recommendation, the tag score-based recommendation, and the hybrid recommendation, respectively. Our experiments show that the hybrid recommendation system outperforms the other two approaches.
Point-of-Interest(POI) recommendation systems suggest the most interesting POIs to users considering the current location and time. With the rapid development of smartphones, internet-of-things, and location-based social networks, it has become feasible to accumulate huge amounts of user POI visits. Therefore, instant recommendation of interesting POIs at a given time is being widely recognized as important. To increase the performance of POI recommendation systems, several studies extracting users' POI sequential preference from POI check-in data, which is intended for implicit feedback, have been suggested. However, when constructing a model utilizing sequential preference, the model encounters possibility of data distortion because of a low number of observed check-ins which is attributed to intensified data sparsity. This paper suggests refinement of temporal intervals based on data confidence. When building a POI recommendation system using temporal intervals to model the POI sequential preference of users, our methodology reduces potential data distortion in the dataset and thus increases the performance of the recommendation system. We verify our model's effectiveness through the evaluation with the Foursquare and Gowalla dataset.

The effectiveness of recommendation systems depends on the performance of the algorithms with which these systems are designed. The quality of the algorithms themselves depends on the quality of the strategies with which they were designed. These strategies differ from author to author. Thus, designing a good recommendation system means implementing the good strategies. It's in this context that several research works have been proposed on various strategies applied to algorithms to meet the needs of recommendations. Researchers are trying indefinitely to address this objective of seeking the qualities of recommendation algorithms. In this paper, we propose a new algorithm for recommending learning items. Learner performance predictions and collaborative recommendation methods are used as strategies for this algorithm. The proposed performance prediction model is based on convolutional neural networks (CNN). The results of the performance predictions are used by the proposed recommendation algorithm. The results of the predictions obtained show the efficiency of Deep Learning compared to the k-nearest neighbor (k-NN) algorithm. The proposed recommendation algorithm improves the recommendations of the learners' learning items. This algorithm also has the particularity of dissuading learning items in the learner's profile that are deemed inadequate for his or her training.

In this paper, we develop an AI-based recommendation system that matches the specifications of smartphones from company 'S'. The system aims to simplify the complex decision-making process of consumers and guide them to choose the smartphone that best suits their daily needs. The recommendation system analyzes five specifications of smartphones (price, battery capacity, weight, camera quality, capacity) to help users make informed decisions without searching for extensive information. This approach not only saves time but also improves user satisfaction by ensuring that the selected smartphone closely matches the user's lifestyle and needs. The system utilizes unsupervised learning, i.e. clustering (K-MEANS, DBSCAN, Hierarchical Clustering), and provides personalized recommendations by evaluating them with silhouette scores, ensuring accurate and reliable grouping of similar smartphone models. By leveraging advanced data analysis techniques, the system can identify subtle patterns and preferences that might not be immediately apparent to consumers, enhancing the overall user experience. The ultimate goal of this AI recommendation system is to simplify the smartphone selection process, making it more accessible and user-friendly for all consumers. This paper discusses the data collection, preprocessing, development, implementation, and potential impact of the system using Pandas, crawling, scikit-learn, etc., and highlights the benefits of helping consumers explore the various options available and confidently choose the smartphone that best suits their daily lives.
