전기철도 팬터그래프 집전판의 나노 기술 적용에 관한 연구 (A Study on Nano Technology Application of Pantograph Contact Strip for Electric Railway)

  • In electric railways, high speed trains are normally supplied by AC 25kV power by contact between a pantograph contact strip and a contact wire. Advanced railway operating countries are actively researching various areas for the development of contact strips due to the reason that the properties of contact strips are one of the key factors of electric railways. This paper applied nano technology which is rapidly growing in many areas to the contact strip of a pantograph for current collection performance improvement considering speed up of electric railways. In detail, this paper proposes a method to dope nano particles of metal to a Korea Train eXpress(KTX) carbon pantograph and its measurement results. It is expected that the contents of this paper be used for preliminary study of high-speed railway current collection technologies.

  • This study aims to create a numerical analysis model which can investigate the dynamic interaction between pantograph and overhead contact wire used for a high-speed railway vehicle, and validate the simulation results according to EN 50318 standard. Finite element analysis models of pantograph and overhead contact line are created using SAMCEF, a commercial FE analysis program. The mean, standard deviation, maximum and minimum values of contact forces are obtained. The simulation results are validated according to EN 50318, and the possibility of simulating the collecting characteristic of an actual pantograph system by using the developed model is discussed.

  • In this study, the dynamic response of a catenary system that supplies electrical power to high-speed trains is investigated. One of the important problems which is accompanied by increasing the speed of a high-speed rail, is the performance of stable current collection. Another problem which has been encountered, is maintaining continuous contact force between the catenary and the pantograph without loss of panhead. The dynamic analyses of the catenary based on the Finite Element Method (FEM) are performed to develop a pantograph suitable for high speed operation. The static deflection of the catenary, the stiffness variation in contact lines, the dynamic response of the catenary undergoing the force of a constantly moving load and the contact force were calculated. It was confirmed that a catenary model is necessary to study the dynamic characteristics of the pantograph system.

  • 본 연구에서는 그린(green)의 함수를 사용한 가선-판토그래프 계 운동 해석 방법을 개발하였다. 이 방법은 집중질량 방법이나 모우드 해석법에 비하여 더욱 해 석적이며, 모우드 해석법과는 달리 고유 진동수나 진동형의 계산이 필요하지 않다.

  • Nowadays, high speed train has settled down as a fast and convenient environment-friendly transportation and it's need is gradually increasing. However increased train speed leads to increased aerodynamic noise, which causes critically affects comfortability of passengers. Especially, the pantograph of high speed train is protruded out of train body, which is the main factor for increased aerodynamic noise. In this research, to reduce aerodynamic noise pantograph, panhead's shape changed to aerodynamical shape. aerodynamic noise of pantograph is predicted by CFD (Computational Fluid Dynamic) and FW-H (Ffowcs Williams-Hawkings) equation. Also, the sound pressure level of aerodynamic noise of base and modified models are predicted. And the reduction effects of the sound pressure level is analyzed.

  • This thesis aims to report the result of an evaluation of the aerodynamic characteristic on the purchase conditional pantograph model that has developed for applying to the KTX-I. Development pantograph was derived the result of aerodynamic characteristic through a wind tunnel test. And design modification was proceeded to solve the difference of aerodynamic characteristic by pantograph's operating direction. The verification test and adjustment test about the modified pantograph's aerodynamic characteristic were progressed on the KTX-I. To be corresponded with requirements, the airfoil and spoiler were used.

  • The dynamic characteristics of the current collection system are investigated by conducting a test run in which signals from accelerometers and load cells attached to the various parts of the pantograph are analyzed in both the time and frequency domains. The dynamic characteristics of the current collection system are found to be strongly influenced by the train speed; the fluctuation in the pantograph motion increases in direct proportion to the train speed. There exist two major fequency components in the pantograph motion related to the current collection, a speed-dependent component arising from the train traversing a span of the catenary, and a speed-independent component related to the pantograph resonant frequency. The train acceleration is also found to exert strong influence on the current collection system characteristics. The effect of the train motion is found to be stronger on the speed-dependent frequency component than on the speed-independent one.

  • Pantographes should follow periodical motions with hanger and span passing frequencies during operation in order to have good dynamic follow-up characteristics. According to the dynamic simulations of a pantograph together with catenary systems, the best current collection performance of a pantograph is obtained when receptance peak frequencies are matched with hanger and span passing frequencies. Based on this principle, design variables of G7 pantograph are selected. However, because a high-speed train may run in the wide range of speeds and induce aero-acoustic noises, the design variables are adjusted to escape from these problems with a little sacrifice of current collection performance.

  • In this study, a measuring system for performance of pantograph was developed. The measuring system was installed on the prototype high speed train and measurement has been conducted during running on the test track. The measuring system is composed of video monitoring system and telemetry & data processing system. It can monitor the hazard behavior of pantograph and measure acceleration and vertical force of the pan head. Owing to the measuring system, performance of pantograph and safety of interface system of pantograph and catenary is evaluated.

  • For the analysis of dynamic contact between a catenary and a pantograph of high-speed electrical train, the numerical solution of the equations of motion of the vehicle pantograph and the catenary system subjected to the contact condition is obtained. The whole equations of motion of the catenary and the pantograph are simultaneously time integrated with the strict application of the contact condition. For the stability of the numerical solution, with the cubic spline interpolation of the catenary displacement, the velocity and acceleration constraints as well as the displacement constraint are imposed on the contact point. Especially it is shown that the Coriolis and centripetal accelerations are critical for the accuracy and stability of the computation.
