An Analysis of the Landuse Classification Accuracy Using PCA Merged Images from IRS-1C PAN Data and Landsat TM Data (IRS-1C PAN 데이터와 Landsat TM 데이터의 PCA 중합화상을 이용한 토지이용 분류 정확도 분석)

  • The min object of this study was to prove the effectiveness of PCA(principal component analysis) merged images produced by PCA method using high resolution IRS-1C PAN data and multispectral Landsat TM data A sample data which has ten classes was generated for evaluation of the overall classification accuracy. In result, merged sample image which TM13457 bands with IRS-1C PAN data by PCA method showed best result (95.1%). Especially, the largest improve (6.2%) in classification accuracy was resulted when IRS-1C PAN data was merged with TM123457 or TM13457 images. In addition, landuse classification accuracy of the PCA merged images was improved (5.16%) than original color composite images of Landsat TM data.

Synthesis of Pan Fibrous ion-Exchanger by Hydrolysis and Their Adsorption Properties for Nickel Ion (가수분해에 의한 PAN섬유 이온교환체의 합성 및 Ni$^{2+}$ 흡착 특성)

  • In order to recover nickel ion from waste water containing heavy metals, the PAN fibrous ion-exchanger with primary, secondary amine groups and carboxyl group was synthesized by acid and base hydrolysis. The hydrolysis yield of PAN fiber in acid solution was higher than base solution. The swelling ratio and ion-exchange capacity of PAN fiber which was synthesized in 1N $H_2SO_4$ solution at $80^{\circ}C$ for 7 hrs appeared 71.2% and 1.95 meq/g respectively. We investigated that the adsorption of nickel ion was approached 1.44 meq/g at 50 min and the maximum adsorption capacity of ion-exchanger was 2.48 meq/g. We confirmed that the $Ni^{+2}$ adsorption ability of the synthesized PAN fibrous ion-exchanger in this study is excellent.

Electrospun Nanofibrous Polyacrylonitrile(PAN)/ Fe2O3 Membrane as Co2Gas Sensor

  • Polyacrylonitrile (PAN)/$Fe_2O_3$ nanocomposite membranes with a thickness of 0.02 mm were electrospun by adding 0 to 5 wt% of $Fe_2O_3$ into PAN. The surface tension, density, kinematic viscosity and dynamic viscosity of the PAN solution were determined to be $33.8{\pm}1mN/m$, 0.9794 g/ml, $1548.6mm^2/sec$ and 1516.7 cP, respectively. The average diameters of PAN fibers containing 0, 1 2, 3, and 4 wt% $Fe_2O_3$ particles were 300, 260, 210, 130, and 90 nm, respectively. Fourier-transform infrared spectroscopy results showed that the addition of $Fe_2O_3$ nanoparticles to the PAN mat reduced the absorption peak intensity at $2242cm^{-1}$ ($C{\equiv}N$ bond) while it caused a sharp increase in the peak intensity at $2356cm^{-1}$(C=O bond). Thus, it appears that an appropriate amount of $Fe_2O_3$ nanoparticles in the PAN backbone leads to an improvement of the performance of the $CO_2$ gas sensor, most likely due to the change of functional groups in the membrane.

  • With the progress of portable appliances such as cell phone and handhold PC, the popularization of Personal Area Network (PAN) and the diversification of services that are based on Personal Mobile Gateway (PMG) . To use home services at any time regardless of their Position, it needs a virtual home network that a home network and outside networks are finally integrated. Although interoperability among home appliances reached their service stage, research for services and middleware for new small scale network such as PAN is at an early stage. Traditional home network service/connection methods, terminal control schemes, and middlewares must be extended to accommodate PMG-based PAM. In this paper, we propose an integrated virtual home network Platform that guarantees seamless connections between home network and PAM. We also analyze indispensable functions and presents functions that should be added existent home gateway or home sewer by function.

Performance of Annealed Polyacrylonitrile Nanofiltration Membrane (아닐링된 폴리아크릴로니트릴 나노막의 성능)

  • The integrally skinned asymmetric PAN ultrafiltration membranes were annealed for reducing the pore size. The effect of the chemical structure of two PAN polymers (homo- and copolymer) on annealing was investigated. The annealing of PAN polymer was strongly affected by the chemical structure of the polymer. In other words, the annealing effect of the copolymer was much larger than that of the homopolymer due to its less rigid structure of the main chain. Before annealing, the membranes were usually preheated in water in terms of the complete removal of remained solvents in the membranes. The annealing effect was bigger when no preheating. However, the preheating of the membrane before annealing at high temperatures leads to an increase in the pore size of membranes. The surface of the membranes was slightly negative and the salt rejection of PAN nanofiltration membrane was in the following order: R(Na₂SO₄) > R(NaCl) > R(MgSO₄) > R(CaCl₂). This salt rejection behavior could be explained by the Donnan equilibrium and the electroneutrality.

Stabilization of PAN Nanofibers Using Electron Beam Irradiation and Thermal Compression Technique (전자선 조사와 열압축공정을 이용한 PAN 나노섬유의 안정화 및 특성분석)

  • Polyacrylonitrile (PAN)-based carbon fibers have been widely used due to their unique chemical, electrical, and mechanical properties. Electron beam irradiation has been extensively employed as means of altering properties of polymeric materials. Electron beam irradiation can induce chemical reactions in materials without any catalyst. Electron beam irradiation may be useful in accelerating the thermal compression stabilization of PAN nanofibers. To investigate the irradiation effect on PAN fibers, PAN nanofibers were irradiated by electron beam at 1,000~5,000 kGy. Irradiated and non-irradiated PAN nanofibers were heated at 180 and $220^{\circ}C$ without applying pressure for 15 min. Then 1 metric ton has been applied for 5 min. SEM images have been found that the fiber kept its morphological behavior after the hot pressing up to electron beam irradiated 1,000 kGy. DSC thermograms showed that the peak temperatures of the exothermic reactions were found to decrease with increasing electron beam irradiation doses and temperature. FT-IR spectra have been found to decrease $C{\equiv}N$ stretch band with increasing the electron beam irradiation dose. These results indicate that the modification of PAN via reactions such as cyclization is significantly enhanced by electron beam irradiation and thermal compression technique.

Development of Real-time QRS-complex Detection Algorithm for Portable ECG Measurement Device (휴대용 심전도 측정장치를 위한 실시간 QRS-complex 검출 알고리즘 개발)

  • In this paper, we present a QRS-complex detection algorithm to calculate an accurate heartbeat and clearly recognize irregular rhythm from ECG signals. The conventional Pan-Tompkins algorithm brings false QRS detection in the derivative when QRS and noise signals have similar instant variation. The proposed algorithm uses amplitude differences in 7 adjacent samples to detect QRS-complex which has the highest amplitude variation. The calculated amplitude is cubed to dominate QRS-complex and the moving average method is applied to diminish the noise signal's amplitude. Finally, a decision rule with a threshold value is applied to detect accurate QRS-complex. The calculated signals with Pan-Tompkins and proposed algorithms were compared by signal-to-noise ratio to evaluate the noise reduction degree. QRS-complex detection performance was confirmed by sensitivity and the positive predictive value(PPV). Normal ECG, muscle noise ECG, PVC, and atrial fibrillation signals were achieved which were measured from an ECG simulator. The signal-to-noise ratio difference between Pan-Tompkins and the proposed algorithm were 8.1, 8.5, 9.6, and 4.7, respectively. All ratio of the proposed algorithm is higher than the Pan-Tompkins values. It indicates that the proposed algorithm is more robust to noise than the Pan-Tompkins algorithm. The Pan-Tompkins algorithm and the proposed algorithm showed similar sensitivity and PPV at most waveforms. However, with a noisy atrial fibrillation signal, the PPV for QRS-complex has different values, 42% for the Pan-Tompkins algorithm and 100% for the proposed algorithm. It means that the proposed algorithm has superiority for QRS-complex detection in a noisy environment.

  • 본 논문에서는 PAN에서의 빠르고 안정성 있는 서비스 탐색방법으로 그룹관리와 지역캐시를 이용한 논리적 메쉬구조 기법을 제안하고자 한다. 이 기법은 PAN 내부의 노드들을 하나의 그룹으로 관리하는데, 각 노드들은 그룹에 속한 모든 노드들의 정보를 지역캐시로 저장하고 있어 논리적인 메쉬구조를 가지게 된다. 이 지역캐시 정보는 가입과 탈퇴 방법을 통해 각 노드에게 저장되므로 탐색시 발생하는 브로드캐스팅 트래픽을 감소시킬 수 있다. 이때 논리적 메쉬구조를 사용하여 전송하므로 직접전송을 통한 빠른 전송이 가능하다. 또한 이런 논리적 메쉬구조는 특정 서비스의 탐색을 위해 중간에 다른 노드나 레지스트리 서버를 거치지 않으므로 레지스트리 의존 구조에 비해 상대적으로 안정성이 있다. 이 서비스 탐색 방법은 향후 상황정보 공유를 위한 프레임워크에 상황정보 탐색 모듈로서 반영 될 수 있을 것이며 웨어러블 컴퓨팅에도 적용 가능하다.

Influence of Heat-Treatment Temperature on the Physical Properties and Microstructure of Phosphoric Acid Coated Oxi-PAN Fiber/Phenolic Composites (인산코팅된 OXI-PAN 섬유/페놀수지 복합재료의 물리적특성과 미세구조에 미치는 열처리온도의 영향)

  • 본 연구에서는 인산코팅된 것과 되지 않은 OXI-PAN섬유를 사용하여 제조된 무질서 배향의 OXI-PAN/페놀수지 복합재료를 불활성분위기의 여러 열처리온도에서 탄화하였을 때, 섬유표면에 인화합물의 존재 유.무가 복합재료의 물리적특성 및 미세구조 변화에 미치는 영향을 조사하였다. 두 종류 복합재료의 물리적특성 변화를 탄화온도 영향에 대한 섬유와 매트릭스 및 그 계면에서의 미세구조 거동변화와 기공형성의 관점에서 해석하였다. 열처리시 온도상승에 따라 섬유와 매트릭스 계면에서의 화학반응에 의해서 그 구분이 점차 사라지면서 국부적으로 치밀하고 균일한 상을 이루고 있는 것으로 조사되었다. 또한, 탄화 조건에서도 인산코팅은 OXI-PAN 섬유의 직경의 감소를 억제하고 열안정성을 향상시키므로 복합재료의 부피수축률을 줄이고 탄화수율을 증가시키는데도 어느정도 기여할 수 있으리라 판단되었다.

Object Recognition using Smart Tag and Stereo Vision System on Pan-Tilt Mechanism

  • We propose a novel method for object recognition using the smart tag system with a stereo vision on a pan-tilt mechanism. We developed a smart tag which included IRED device. The smart tag is attached onto the object. We also developed a stereo vision system which pans and tilts for the object image to be the centered on each whole image view. A Stereo vision system on the pan-tilt mechanism can map the position of IRED to the robot coordinate system by using pan-tilt angles. And then, to map the size and pose of the object for the robot to coordinate the system, we used a simple model-based vision algorithm. To increase the possibility of tag-based object recognition, we implemented our approach by using as easy and simple techniques as possible.
