Performance Analysis of Distance-Based Registration and Selective Paging in IMT-2000 Network (IMT-2000 망에서 거리기준 위치등록 및 선택적 페이징의 성능분석)

  • An efficient mobility management for mobile stations plays an important role in mobile communication network. This paper studies the mobility management scheme that combines a distance-based registration(DBR) and a selective paging (SP). We introduce an analytical model based on 2-dimensional random walk mobility model and evaluate the performance of the proposed mobility management scheme using the model to determine the optimal size of location area that results in the minimum signaling traffic on radio channels. Numerical results are provided to demonstrate the performance of the proposed mobility management scheme under various circumstances. These results can be used effectively in design and evaluation of registration methods considering the system circumstances.

  • For a NAND booting based embedded system, an application program on the NAND flash memory is downloaded to the RAM when the system is booted. In this case, the application program exists in both the RAM and the NAND flash so the RAM usage is increased. In this paper, we suggested the demand paging technique for the decreasing of the RAM usage for OS-less NAND booting based embedded systems. As a result of a benchmark test, 40~80% of the code memory usage was reduced with below 5% of execution time delay.

  • In the wireless communication systems, the power consumption of a mobile device is very important issue due to its battery limitations. Hence most of the standards for wireless networks including a mobile WiMAX system are supporting their own power saving mode in way that a mobile device is able to reduce its energy usage while in the mode. However, those standards just define the arrangement of special time intervals, called a paging listening interval, during which the device needs to receive the paging-related control messages, and they do not specify how to effectively reduce the power in many different network environments. This means the amount of power spent by the device is very dependent on the implementations of individual device-vendors, and undesirable paging loss may happen according to the channel conditions. To reduce unnecessary power usage and the risk of paging loss, this paper proposes the effective frequency/BS selection algorithm applicable to a mobile device operating in the power saving mode, which serves the device with better BS based on the tracking for channel variation. This algorithm consists of the channel estimation phase during each paging listening interval, the tracking phase for the measured results, the frequency reselection phase based on the tracking activity, and the preferred BS reselection phase. Thus the proposed method can improve the paging performance while the device is moving in the network. Also the simulation result shows that the presented scheme is superior to other candidates in energy efficiency due to the channel-adaptive frequency/BS selection.

Do it so that may apply composing PC(Paging Cache) and RC(Routing Cache) that was used to manage paging and router in radio Internet network in integral management and all nodes as one PRC(Paging Router Cache), and add hand off state machine in transfer node so that can manage hand off of transfer node and Roaming state efficiently, and studies so that achieve connection function at node. Analyze benevolent person who influence on telephone traffic in system environment and forecasts each link currency rank and imbalance degree, forecast most close and important lake interception probability and lake falling off probability, GoS(Grade of Service), efficiency of cell capacity in QoS because applies algorithm proposing based on algorithm use gun send-receive electric power that judge by looking downward link whether currency book was limited and accepts or intercept lake and handles and displays QoS performance improvement.

  • Paging system이란 전화망 등의 전송매체를 통하여 Pager를 소지하고 있는 가입자에게 호출이나 데이터 서비스를 제공하는 것을 말한다. 국내의 경우 161.42MHz의 carrier frequency를 사용하여 전국을 8개의 지역권(1)으로 분할하여 Paging service를 제공하고 있다. 본고에서는 시스팀 차원이 아닌 단말기 차원에서 Pager의 구성부품들과 각 구성품의 기능들을 파악하였고 pager의 국내 생산 기술 현황을 조사 정리 하였다.

  • We propose a location management with adaptive binding idle lifetime scheme for IP-based wireless network. In our proposed scheme, the binding idle lifetime value is adaptively varied according to user characteristics. The main idea is that the mobile node (MN) does location update (LU) even in idle state. Furthermore a sequential paging scheme is used to reduce the paging cost. The proposed scheme can be used in both cellular network and IP-based network.

  • 최근 무선망 수요가 급증함에 따라 무선단말기의 전원효율을 높이고 망의 오버헤드를 줄이는 한편, 단말의 위치추적을 위하여 페이징(paging) 기법이 등장하게 되었다. IP 패킷 단말의 이동성과 함께 효율적인 페이징 기법이 차세대 무선망 기술의 핵심 이슈로 떠오르고 있다. 이에 본 논문은 국내의 차세대 IP패킷 무선망으로써 연구되고 있는 HPi(High-speed Portable Internet)망을 위한 페이징 프로토콜 및 페이징 영역 구조를 제안하였으며 실제 시뮬레이션을 통해 성능을 측정한다.

  • 무선망에서 데이터를 전송 받기 위해서 이동단말은 자신의 정확한 위치를 망에 등록하여야 한다. 페이징 기술은 이동단말의 위치등록을 자주하지 않도록 함으로써 단말의 전력 소모를 줄일 수 있도록 해 준다. 망은 이동단말의 개략적인 위치를 관리하고 실제 전달할 데이터가 있는 경우에 페이징을 이용하여 정확한 위치를 찾게 된다. 최근 이러한 개념을 IP를 사용하는 망에서 사용하고자 하는 IP 페이징 기술들이 소개되고 있다. 본 논문에서는 IP 페이징의 개념 및 관련 연구를 소개하고, 효율적인 페이징 관리를 위한 동적 페이징 영역 설정 기법을 제시한다.
