  • 신간척지 토양 pH는 7.5 이상의 알카리성 토양으로 요소와 같은 화학비료 처리 시 휘산에 의한 손실이 증가하여 비료효율이 저감된다. 한편 퇴비와 같은 유기태질소를 함유하는 유기질비료를 처리하더라도 토양 내 Nitrosomonas나 Nitrobactor와 같은 미생물상이 미약하여 질산화과정이 미약하여 실질적 유기질비료의 효과를 기대하기 어렵다. 한편 논과 같이 초기부터 담수상태로 시작하는 토양에서는 식물체가 질소원을 양분으로 이용하기 전 탈질화과정을 거치거나 아니면 용탈과정을 통하여 손실이 발생한다. 따라서 토양 pH가 7.5 이상으로 증가함에 따라 요소형태로 토양에 가해진 질소원으로부터 암모니아가스 발생이 급격히 증가되면 실질적 질소질 비료의 이용효율이 저하된다. 따라서 pH7 이상의 간척지 토양에 요소를 질소원으로 처리 시 암모니 움태나 질산태 형태의 가급태 질소원은 매우 적을 것으로 추정된다. 그러므로 담수하에서의 간척지 토양의 산화환원 특성과 토양 pH에 따른 처리 비종과 처리 기술개발이 반드시 필요하다고 판단한다.

윤충류 Brachinus plicatilis와 저서성 요각류 Tigriopus japonicus의 초기생활사에 미치는 슬래그 추출액의 생태 영향 (Ecological Effects of Slag Extracts on the Initial Life Cycle of the Rotifer Brachionus plicatilis and Benthic Copepod Tigriopus japonicus)

  • 본 연구는 해양에서 1차 소비자 단계인 윤충류 Brachionus plicatilis와 저서성 요각류 Tigriopus japonicus의 초기생활사에 미치는 탈인슬래그와 제강슬래그 추출액의 생태 영향을 평가하기 위하여 해양생태독성평가를 실시하였다. 슬래그 추출액에 대한 스크린 테스트 결과, 추출액의 pH는 높은 알칼리성(pH 8.89-12.16)이었으며, 숙성 전과 후 추출액에 대한 독성 반응은 실험생물에 따라 뚜렷하게 구분되었다. 숙성 전 슬래그의 경우, pH 비제어 시료에 대한 B. plicatilis 신생개체의 반수치사농도는 제강슬래그(63.8 %)가 탈인슬래그(20.8 %)보다 높은 것으로 나타났으며, T. japonicus 유생의 반수치사농도는 탈인슬래그와 제강슬래그에서 각각 35.3 %와 36.0 %로 비슷하였다. 그러나 pH를 제어한 경우, 숙성 전과 후 추출한 시료에 대한 T. japonicus 유생의 독성은 B. plicatilis 신생개체와는 다르게 노출물질 특성에 따라 뚜렷하게 구분되었다. 결론적으로 숙성 후 슬래그는 상대적으로 안정된 상태를 유지할 수 있으며, pH 비제어 환경조건 하에서도 반복 추출을 통해 해양환경에 미치는 영향이 적은 것으로 판단된다. 본 연구를 통해 슬래그와 같이 기계적으로 활성화 된 시료의 해양생태독성평가방법은 강우나 풍화로 인한 유해물질의 해양 유입을 차단할 수 있는 아이디어를 제공할 수 있을 것이다.

해조단백질(海藻蛋白質) 추출(抽出)에 관(關)한 연구(硏究) -5. 적이용(赤利用) 해조(海藻)의 수용성(水溶性) 단백질(蛋白質) 추출조건(抽出條件)- (Studies on the Extraction of Seaweed Proteins Extraction of Water Soluble Proteins in Unexploited Seaweeds)

  • 자원(資源)이 풍부한 적이용해조(赤利用海藻)를 단백질(蛋白質) 자원(資源)으로 이용(利用)하기 위(爲)하여 지충이, 잘피 및 잘피 등(等) 2종(種)의 해조(海藻)와 1종(種)의 해산식물(海産植物)을 선정(選定)하여 이의 수용성(水溶性) 단백질(蛋白質) 추출조건(抽出條件)을 검토(檢討)하였다. 1) 첨가수량(添加水量)은 곰피는 1:150(W/V)의 비(比)로 가(加)했을 때 추출효과(抽出效果)가 좋았고, 잘피와 지충이는 1:100(W/V)일 때가 좋았다. 2) 추출시간(抽出時間)은 총질소(總窒素)의 경우 2시간(時間) 이상(以上)에서, TCA 불용성(不溶性) 단백질(蛋白質)은 1시간(時間) 정도(程度)가 효과적(效果的)이었다. 3) 추출온도(抽出溫度)는 $40-50^{\circ}C$에서 추출성적(抽出成績)이 좋았으며 $70^{\circ}C$ 이상에서 약간 높아지나 TCA 불용성(不溶性) 질소(窒素)는 증가하지 않으므로 고온추출(高溫抽出)은 불리(不利)하였다. 4) pH의 영향(影響)은 전시료(全試料)가 pH 9 이상(以上)에서 높은 추출율(抽出率)을 보였으나 TCA 불용성(不溶性) 질소(窒素)는 pH 7 이상(以上)에서는 증가(增加)하지 않는 관계로 pH $6{\sim}7$에서 추출(抽出)함이 유리(有利)하였다. 5) 순단백질(純蛋白質) 침전(沈澱) 분리(分離)는 pH 조절법(調節法)에 의(依)한 처리(處理)가 질소(窒素) 함량(含量)이 가장 높았다. 6) 추출단백질(抽出蛋白質)을 정제(精製)함으로써 아미노태질소(態窒素)의 함량(含量) 및 총질소(總窒素)에 대(對)한 백분율(百分率)도 높일 수 있는 효과(效果)를 얻을 수 있었다.

바나듐광 염배소물 수침출 용액으로부터 바나듐 회수공정 고찰 (Recovery Process of Vanadium from the Leaching Solution of Salt-Roasted Vanadate Ore)

  • 본 연구에서는 바나듐광 염배소-수침출 과정을 거쳐 얻어지는 바나듐 함유 수용액으로부터 바나듐을 암모늄메타바나데이트로 침전시켜 회수할 때, 수용액에 존재하는 다른 성분의 이온들이 바나듐 회수에 미치는 영향을 알아보았다. 바나듐 함유 수용액은 pH가 13 정도인 강알칼리 용액으로서, 암모늄메타바나데이트 침전효율을 높이기 위해서는 수용액 pH를 9 이하로 낮춰야 한다. 그러나 황산으로 수용액 pH를 조절하는 과정에서 알루미늄 이온은 바나듐과 같이 공침되기 때문에 알루미늄 이온을 먼저 제거시켜야 한다. 본 연구에서는 소듐실리케이트를 사용하여 알루미늄-실리케이트 화합물 형태로 침전시킴으로서 알루미늄을 제거하였으며, 이 과정에서 바나듐 손실을 최소화하는 조건에 대하여 알아보았다. 알루미늄 제거 후, 황산을 이용하여 수용액 pH를 9 이하로 조절하는 과정에서 수용액의 실리케이트 성분을 침전시켜 제거하였다. 이 때 황산의 농도와 첨가속도가 바나듐 손실에 큰 영향을 미치며, 가급적 25% 묽은 황산을 사용하여 천천히 첨가함으로서 바나듐 손실을 최소화 하였다. 알루미늄 제거 그리고 수용액 pH 조절 과정을 통하여 얻은 바나듐 수용액에 3 당량의 염화암모늄을 첨가하여 상온에서 침전시킨 결과, 전체적으로 81% 이상의 바나듐을 암모늄메타바나데이트로 회수할 수 있었다. 회수된 암모늄메타바나데이트를 세척한 후 550℃에서 2시간 열처리하여 98.6% 순도의 오산화바나듐을 얻을 수 있었다

김해지역의 산성강우와 기압유형 (Weather Patterns and Acid Rain at Kimhae Area)

  • This study was carried out to investigate the characteristics of acidity in the precipitation and weather patterns that were influenced it at Kimhae area from March, 1992 to June, 1994. The range of pH value in the precipitation at Kimhae is 3.45 to 6.80 and the average is pH 4.62, and the major anion components associated with acidity in the precipitation are $Cl^-, SO_4^{-2}, NO_3^-$. These distributions are to be expected the influence of industrialization such as, urbanization and construction of industrial complex at Kimhae area and the long range trasporting of air pollutants from China. The weather patterns governing the acid rain at Kimhae were classified broadly into four types(Cyclone(type I-a, type I-b), Migratory Anticyclone(type II), Tropical Cyclone(type III), Siberia High(type IV) and weather pattern which had the most occurrence frequency of acid rain was type I-a and the average pH value of precipitation in this pattern was 4.45, and we are found that the source area of air mass which was accompanied with high acidic precipitation in Kimhae was the central China include with Peking through the analysis of surface weather maps, 850 hPa wind fields, and the streamline analyses.

군산시 호소수에서의 수질특성과 THMs 생성에 관한 연구 (A Study on Water Quality and THMs Formation in Lake-Waters at Kunsan)

  • This study was carried out to investigate characteristics of water quality and THMs formation in lake-waters at kunsan. Of the parameters examined for water quality, pH, alkalinity, SO$_4$$^{-2}$ and Co- reflected the characteristics according to the origin, geography and water source of lakes while COD, SS, T-P, T-N and chlorophyll-a corelatively reflected well the influence of pollution factors around factors around lakes. The result of water quality analysis showed that most lakes in Kunsan area have the severe eutropnication problem, especially in summer. In lake-waters, THMFP overally continued to increase until 48 hour with the reaction time and THMs formation was largely achieved within 24 hour of the reaction time. The average formation ratio were 68.2% for CHCl$_3$, 23.6% for CHCl$_2$Br, 7.6% for CHClBr$_3$ and 0.6% for CHBr$_3$respectively and much difference depending on the reaction time was not shown. Overally, 96h-THEFP levels in lakes were high during June~September and showed higher tencency in lakes where could be regarded more contaminated on the whole. These results suggest that THMFP may be available for the management of lake-water quality as one if the useful parameters for the general evaluation of contamination. 96h-THEMFP failed to show the strong corelation individually with pH, TOC, COD and chlorphyll-a.

Effects of Heat-oxidized Soy Protein Isolate on Growth Performance and Digestive Function of Broiler Chickens at Early Age

  • This study was conducted to investigate effects of heat-oxidized soy protein isolate (HSPI) on growth performance, serum biochemical indices, apparent nutrient digestibility and digestive function of broiler chickens. A total of 320 1-day-old Arbor Acres chicks were randomly divided into 4 groups with 8 replicates of 10 birds, receiving diets containing soy protein isolate (SPI, control group) or the same amount of SPI heated in an oven at $100^{\circ}C$ for 1, 4, or 8 h, for 21 days, respectively. The results indicated that compared with the control group, body weight gain and feed intake of birds fed diet containing SPI heated for 8 h were significantly lower (p<0.05). Serum urea nitrogen concentration was higher in the broilers fed diet containing SPI heated for 4 or 8 h at d 21 (p<0.05). In contrast, serum glucose content was decreased by HSPI substitution at d 21 (p<0.05). The relative pancreas weight in HSPI groups was higher than that in the control group at d 21 (p<0.05). Meanwhile, the opposite effect was observed for relative weight of anterior intestine and ileum in broilers fed a diet containing SPI heated for 8 h (p<0.05). Birds fed diets containing SPI heated for 4 or 8 h had a decreased lipase activity in anterior intestinal content at d 14 and 21 (p<0.05), respectively. In addition, the same effect was also noted in broilers given diets containing SPI heated for 1 h at d 21 (p<0.05). Similarly, amylase, protease and trypsin activity in anterior intestinal content were lower in broilers fed diets containing SPI heated for 8 h at d 21 (p<0.05). The apparent digestibility of dry matter (DM) from d 8 to 10 and DM, crude protein (CP), and ether extract from d 15 to 17 were lower in broilers fed diets containing SPI heated for 8 h (p<0.05). Besides, birds given diets containing SPI heated for 4 h also exhibited lower CP apparent digestibility from d 15 to 17 (p<0.05). It was concluded that HSPI inclusion can exert a negative influence on the growth performance of broilers, which was likely to result from the simultaneously compromised digestive function.

Influence of Buckwheat Flour on Physicochemical Properties and Consumer Acceptance of Steamed Bread

  • Buckwheat flour was incorporated into steamed breads by adding the flour in the range of 0~9% based on the Baker's percentages and the physicochemical properties and consumer acceptance were investigated. After mixing, kneading, proofing, and molding, bread dough was steamed for 15 min using a steam tray and boiling water. The samples were cooled to room temperature for 15 min and packed in airtight bags for further analyses. pH of the steamed bread decreased slightly while titratable acidity increased significantly from 1.02 to 1.37 mL with the incorporation of more buckwheat flour in the formulation (p<0.05). Water activity was not affected by the buckwheat flour level (p>0.05). Moisture content slightly decreased from 43.72 to 42.30% while soluble solids content increased from 0.63 to 0.85 as the buckwheat flour concentration increased. As a result of the addition of buckwheat flour, the specific volume decreased from 3.31 to 2.57 mL/g; on the other hand, the spread ratio ranged from 2.17 to 2.21 without significant differences among them (p>0.05). At the higher level of buckwheat content, lower scores of all color parameters ($L^*$, $a^*$, and $b^*$-values) were observed. Firmness increased significantly with an increase in buckwheat flour content (p<0.05). Consumer acceptance tests indicated that incorporation of up to 3% buckwheat flour in the formulation of steamed breads did not significantly influence the consumers' acceptability in all attributes tested, except for color and elasticity.

천연 고령토의 폐수 중 납 흡착에 관한 연구 (A Study on Adsorption of Lead(II) in Wastewater Using Natural Kaolinite)

  • Lead(II) removal efficiency by natural kaolinite was investigated through laboratory experiments. This study was conducted in two phases-sorption and desorption. In the adsorption study, the influence of sorption kinetics and sorption isotherm and various parameters such as pH, temperature, coexisting other heavy metal ions on the lead adsorption was investigated. And desorption study was carried out in order to find the re-usability of kaolinite as an adsorbent. The results of the study are as follows. 1. Sorption kinetics was investigated under the condition of 2.5 mg/l adsorbent concentration, pH 6.5$\pm$0.05, temperature $30\pm 0.5\circ$C, initial lead(II) concentration 25 mg/l. Adsorption rate was initially rapid and the extent of adsorption arrived at adsorption equilibrium with 73% adsorption efficiency in an hour. 2. The sorption isotherm experiment was made with different initial lead(II) concentration. A linearized Freundlich equation was used to fit the acquired experimental data. As a result, Freundlich constants, the sorption intensity (1/n) was 0.47 and the measure of sorption (k) was 2.44. So, it was concluded that sorption of lead(II) by kaolinite is effective. 3. The effect of pH on lead(II) sorption by kaolinite shows that at a pH of 3, only 6% of the total lead(II) was adsorbed and at a pH 9, 97% of the lead(II) was removed. And the effect of temperature on lead(II) sorption by kaolinite shows that as the temperature increased, the amount of lead(II) sorption per unit weight of kaolinite increased. But the effect was minor (p<0.05). 4. Sorption isotherm of lead coexisting cadmium (II) or zinc (II) was lower than that of lead itself. It was caused by the result of competitive sorption to adsorption site. And there was no difference between the sorption isotherm of cadmium and zinc. 5. In desorption studies, only 5.12% desorption took place in distilled water, while 52.08% in 0.1 N hydrochloric acid. Consequently used kaolinite could be regenerated by hydrochoric acid.

Effects of Individuals and Behaviors on Acoustic Features of Ultrasonic Vocalizations in Rats

  • The goal of this study was to investigate how spectrographic features of ultrasonic vocalizations (USVs) in rats vary among individuals and behaviors. Eighteen pairs of rats were allocated to individual pair cages. Each pair's behaviors and vocalizations were recorded during the 900s a known cage-mate was returning to the cage. The effects of individuals, behaviors, and the interaction between individuals and behaviors ($individuals{\times}behaviors$) were tested on the duration and peak frequencies. There was difference in the duration and peak frequency: i) among individuals (p<0.0001 and p<0.0001, respectively); ii) among behaviors (p = 0.0667 and p<0.0001, respectively); iii) among individuals${\times}$behaviors (p<0.0001 and p<0.0001, respectively). The frequency of ultrasonic vocalizations changed with a frequency ranging from 40 to 71 kHz which were emitted by individuals, whereas the frequency of ultrasonic vocalizations changed with a frequency ranging from 60 to 70 kHz which were emitted by behaviors. The peak frequency of call on 'contact' behavior was lower than that of call on other behaviors, but call duration of call on 'contact' was longer than on other behaviors. Especially, 40 kHz calls were found on 'contact' and 'other' behaviors. We suggest that ultrasonic vocalizations need to be subdivided and the effects of individuals and behaviors must be considered to assess emotional state of rats because these may influence the features of ultrasonic vocalizations.
