Pork belly(PB) and pork shoulder(PS) parts were tested to find out chemical and physical characteristics and sensory evaluation with various cooking methods such as pan heating, boiling, grilling, steaming, charcoal heating, pan heating and double-layer pan filled with phase change material (PCM) cooking. The moisture contents of steamed PB and PS had higher results of 60.2% and 67.2% than other treatments. The highest results of crude fat contents in PB treatments was charcoal roasting as 33.2% (p<0.05) while grilling resulted the highest at 16.0% in the PS (p<0.05). In the crude protein contents, boiling treatment resulted the lowest at 15.4% while steaming was the highest at 18.9% in PB. Also, crude protein content of grilling treatment was 25.2%, a result significantly higher than in other cooking methods in PS. Heating loss, which has a close relationship with water holding capacity, showed the highest result in the charcoal treatment at 40.18% and 39.68% each in the both of PS and PS. In the result of shear force, the lowest result was oven treatment at $2.76kg/cm^2$ in PB (p<0.05) and double-layer pan heating at $3.67kg/cm^2$ in PS (p<0.05). L value in the color test of boiling treatment showed the highest result of 65.16 and 59.72 in the PB and PS respectively (p<0.05), however it scored the lowest of 2.32 in b value in PB (p<0.05). In the 9 point-scale sensory evaluation, grilling treatment showed the highest result of 7.56 in the overall palatability of PB (p<0.05). However, PS in the pan heating which scored 7.22 was the best result while having the lowest score of 5.88 in the boiling treatment (p<0.05).
Globus pharyngeus is a common problem comprising between 3% and 4% of new otolaryngology outpatient referrals. We do not understand the etiology of globus exactly and it is remained a disease of exclusion. The treatment of globus pharyngeus is still not established. The aim of this study is to understand the etiologic factors and determine the reliable guide for selecting method of choice of evaluation and improving therapeutic response of globus pharyngeus. A total of 141 patients were investigated by authors. 25 of 141 patients were excluded from the study because they could not satisfy the definition criteria of this study. After detailed Interview and comprehensive physical examinations, all the 116 patients had underwent barium esophagogram, fiberoptic esophagogastroscopy, esophageal manometry and 24-hour pH monitoring. They could follow up for at least 3 months. There were 43 male and 73 female subjects and the mean age was 46.5 year. Esophagogram revealed normal in 94(81%) subjects. 78 patients(67.2%) were normal in esophageal manometry. Gastroesophageal reflux(GERD) was found in 24 cases and borderline GERD was found in 25 cases showing an overall incidence of 42.2% for 24-hour pH monitoring. Especially 44(89.8%) of the 49 patients with proven reflux on 24-hour pH monitoring showed therapeutic response whereas 48(71.6%) of the 67 subjects without reflux showed response.
In order to obtain a large number of fertilized eggs for seedling production, experiment was carried out examine effects of serotonin on spawning of the Pacific oyster Crassostrea gigas. The shorter response time to initial spawning in case of serotonin injection showed, the higher serotonin injected with 7.6-27 min. The response time to initial sperm releasing showed the same tendency with female. The highest response rates and eggs amount spawned were showed in the highest concentration. The serotonin injection had no effect on frequency of germinal vesicle breakdown (GVBD), fertilization and hatching rate.
Ethanol production by calcium alginate-immobilized baker's yeast (Saccharor/tyces cereviszae) was studied in the batch fermentation using glucose medium as a feed. Immobilied cells were stable between $30^{\circ}C$ and $40^{\circ}C$ whereas free cells were stable between $30^{\circ}C$ and $37^{\circ}C$ The beads were showed constant ethanol productivity during 720 hours (30 days) over. Fermentation characteristics of immobilized baker's yeast were examined changing the initial glucose concentration of broth in fermentation. Initial glucose concentrations employed were 50, 100, 150 and 200 g/l, respectively. In 15% gucose medium, maximum specific growth rate, maximum ethanol yield and ethanol concentration were observed as 0.092 $h^{-1}$, 0.45, 67.5 g/l, respectively.

The competitive nature of enterprises requires organizations to foster an environment that encourages employee innovation that leads to profitability and customer satisfaction. Organizational innovation is influenced by several factors with employee behaviour being one of the important factors. Employees contribute in the innovation process and thus, it is important for organizations to understand employee expectations to demonstrate innovative work behaviour in order to create and maintain an innovative work culture. In the present study, a conceptual model based on culture, reward and program, training, compensations, leadership and systems was tested to assess that impact on employee expectations leading to innovative work behaviour. The study was conducted in the context of city-state of Singapore due to its significant emphasis on promoting and nurturing employee innovation. The model was tested using empirical data collected through a survey of employees in Singapore. The results indicate that while culture, rewards and training programs have a direct relationship on employee expectations to demonstrate innovative work behaviour, when considered together, leadership and systems are significantly and positively associated with employee expectations. These factors are usually under the control of organizations and can be enhanced through systematic interventions, thereby providing practice managers an avenue to improve employee innovation behaviour. The other implications of the findings and future scope are discussed.
Purpose: The purpose of this study was to compare to aquatic treadmill and anti-gravity treadmill gait training to improve balance and gait abilities in stroke patients. Methods: All subjects were randomly divided into three groups where nine subjects were in the aquatic treadmill group, eight subjects in the anti-gravity treadmill group, and ten subjects in the control group. Subjects in the aquatic treadmill group and the anti-gravity treadmill group received gait training during 30 minutes, with 3 sessions per week for 4 weeks, and subjects in all groups received conventional physical therapy during 30 minutes, with 5 sessions per week for 4 weeks. All subjects were assessed with the Berg balance scale (BBS), timed up and go test (TUG) and 10-meter walk test (10MWT) pre and post intervention. Results: Results showed that BBS, TUG and 10MWT scores significantly improved post-intervention (p<0.05), and the control group also had significantly improved in all areas pre-post intervention (p<0.05). In addition, it has been confirmed that aquatic treadmill group and anti-gravity treadmill group had significantly improved in BBS, TUG and 10MWT scores compared with the control group (p<0.05). However, no significant difference was found in the comparison between the aquatic treadmill and the anti-gravity treadmill group. Conclusion: Finding of this study suggested that aquatic treadmill and anti-gravity treadmill improves balance and gait abilities in stroke patients.
The purpose of this study is to identify clinical features of sound (non-lame) dogs with medial patellar luxation (MPL). Medical records of 72 dogs diagnosed with MPL were retrospectively reviewed. There were no significances in breed, sex, body weight, body condition score (BCS), osteoarthritis (OA) score, inclination of the femoral head angle (IFA), and mechanical medial proximal tibial angle (mMPTA) between sound and lame dogs, respectively. The mean age of sound dogs was significantly higher than that of lame dogs (P < 0.05), especially in MPL grade 3. The frequency of sound dogs with MPL grade 1 and 2 was 2.3 times higher than that of sound dogs with MPL grade 3 and 4 (P < 0.05). The anatomical lateral distal femoral angle (aLDFA) of sound dogs was significantly lower than that of lame dogs (P < 0.05). However, there were no statistical differences in aLDFA between sound and lame dogs in MPL grade 1, 2, and 4, except for MPL grade 3. This study suggests that in case of MPL grade 1 and 2, frequency of sound dogs is significantly high, and also that in MPL grade 3, if mean ± (standard deviation) age of the dogs is 7.4 ± 3.6 years old and the aLDFA is 105.6 ± 4.1 degrees, they are very highly possible to be sound dogs.
The marine algal flora and community structure were investigated at three sites in Ulsan on the southeast coast of Korea between August 2005 and July 2006. Ninety-one benthic algae species were identified, including 14 Chlorophyta, 21 Phaeophyta, and 56 Rhodophyta species. Of the 91 seaweeds, 19 species were found throughout the survey period. The wet weight biomass ranged from 310.8 to 2,960.4 g $m^{-2}$ during the study period. The maximum biomass was recorded at Sinri, and the minimum was recorded at Daesong. The R/P, C/P and (R+C)/P values reflecting flora characteristics were 2.67, 0.67, and 3.33, respectively. The flora investigated could be classified into six functional groups: coarsely branched (46.2%), thick leathery (22.0%), filamentous (16.5%), Sheet (7.7%), jointed calcareous (4.4%), and crustose (3.3%) forms. A cluster analysis produced two groups that differed meaningfully: one included the site Sinri-summer and the other included the sites Daesong and Jinha.
A toluene-oxidizing strain of Pseudomanas mendocina KR1 containing toluene-4-mono-oxygenase (TMO) completely degrades TCE with the addition of toluene as a co-substrate in aerobic condition. In order to construct in situ bioremediation system for TCE degradation without any growth-stimulating nutrients or toxic inducer such as toluene, we used the carbon-starvation promoter of Pseudomonas putida MK1 (Kim, Y. et al., J. bacteriol., 1995). Upon entry into the stationary phase due to the deprivation of nutrients, this promoter is strongly induced without further cell growth. The TMO gene cluster (4.5 kb) was spliced downstream of the carbon starvation promoter of Pseudomonas putida MK1, already cloned in pUC19. TMO under the carbon starvation promoter was not expressed in E. coli cells either in stationary phase or exponential phase. For TMO expression in Pseudomonas strains, tmo and carbon starvation promoter region were recloned into a modified broad-host range vector pMMB67HES which was made from pMMB67HE(8.9 kb) by deletion of tac promoter and lacIq (about 1.5 kb). Indigo was produced by TMO under the carbon starvation promoter in a Pseudomonas strain of post-exponential phase on M9 (0.2% glucose and 1mM indole) or LB. 18% of TCE was degraded in 14 hours after entering the stationary phase at the initial concentration of 6.6 ${\mu}$M in liquid phase.
Purpose: This study was performed to identify the relationship between stress perceived by middle school students and social support level and to investigate the factors affecting middle school students' smoking behavior. Method: The data was collected from four hundred and thirteen students of one boys' middle school and one girls' middle school. Data were analyzed by using SPSS 11.5 Win Program. Result: Smoking rate was higher in girls than boys. The factors affecting smoking behavior were drinking (OR=67.62, P<0.01), having one parent or no parents(OR=9.98, P<0.05), and higher material support(OR=4.67, P<0.05). Conclusion: This results showed that smoking prevention program is needed for girls' middle school students. To prevent smoking, teachers should help students to cope with stress from schools and their environments with careful guidance, and organized support for the student with one parent or no parents should also be established. Furthermore, guidance in student's relationships with peers is needed regarding appropriate allowance, drinking, or substance use.
