In the present work, isogeometric analysis in linear elasticity problem is conducted using the basis functions from NURBS. The objectives of isogeometric analysis introduced is to integrate both geometric modeling(CAD) and computational analysis(CAE), and this can be accomplished from direct usage of geometric modeling by NURBS as the computational mesh. The merit of the isogeometry analysis is that NURBS surface are able to represent exact geometry from the control points and knot vectors, and also subsequent refinement is relatively simple relatively. In order to verify the computer codes developed in this study, it has been applied to two structural models of which geometry are simple ; 1) circular cylinder subjected to the constant internal pressure loading, 2) square plate with circular hole at center subjected to uniform tension. The exact solutions of these two models are available. Convergence of the approximate solutions by the present code for the isogeometry analysis are investigated by mesh refinement with inserting knots (h-refinement) and by mesh refinement with order elevation of the basis functions (p-refinement).
This study presents a simple approach for the assembly of a free-standing conductive electronic nanofilm of single-walled carbon nanotubes (SWNTs) suitable for enzymatic electrochemical biosensors. A large-scale SWNT electronic film was successfully produced by the dialysis of p-Terphenyl-4,4''-dithiol (TPDT)-treated SWNTs. Furthermore, Horseradish peroxidase (HRP) was immobilized on the TPDT-SWNT electronic film, and the enzymatic detection of hydrogen peroxide (H2O2) was demonstrated without mediators. The detection of H2O2 in the negative potential range (-0.4 V vs. Ag/AgCl) was achieved by direct electron transfer of heme-based enzymes that were immobilized on the TPDT-SWNT electronic film. The SWNT-based biosensor exhibited a wide detection range of H2O2 from 10 µM to 10 mM. The HRP-doped SWNT electronic film achieved a high sensitivity of 342 ㎛A/mM·cm2 and excellent selectivity against a variety of redox-active interfering substances, such as ascorbic acid, uric acid, and acetaminophen.

In this study, antimicrobial and antioxidative activities of Perilla frutescens var. acuta were investigated with 50% ethanol and the ethyl acetate fraction and also the components were analyzed. The minimum inhibitory concentration (MIC) of the ethyl acetate fraction for both Staphylococcus aureus and Pseudomonas aeruginosa were $78{\mu}g/mL$, indicating high antimicrobial effects. The free radical scavenging activity ($FSC_{50}$) and the reactive oxygen species (ROS) scavenging activity ($OSC_{50}$) in $Fe^{3+}-EDTA/H_2O_2$ system values of the ethyl acetate fraction were $25.90{\mu}g/mL$ and $1.40{\mu}g/mL$, respectively. After the cell damage induced by $400mJ/cm^2$ UVB irradiation, the cytoprotective effect of the ethyl acetate fraction of P. frutescens var. acuta showed the concentration dependent manner ranging from 2.0 to $16.0{\mu}g/mL$. The intracellular ROS inhibitory activity in HaCaT cells decreased to 28.6% and 40.7% for the 50% ethanol extract and ethyl acetate fraction, respectively at the concentration of $32{\mu}g/mL$. Components of rosmarinic acid, luteolin, apigenin, caffeic acid and ethyl caffeate were identified in the ethyl acetate fraction. These results suggest that the extract and fraction of P. frutescens var. acuta may be applied to the field of cosmetics as a natural material that protects the skin from an external environment by having antimicrobial and antioxidative activities.
This work presents a non-destructive and straightforward approach to assemble a large-scale conductive electronic film made of a pre-treated single-walled carbon nanotube (SWCNT) solution. For effective electron transfer between the immobilized enzyme and SWCNT electronic film, we optimized the pre-treatment step of SWCNT with p-terphenyl-4,4"-dithiol and dithiothreitol. Glucose oxidase (GOx, a model enzyme in this study) was immobilized on the SWCNT electronic film following the positively charged polyelectrolyte layer deposition. The glucose detection was realized through effective electron transfer between the immobilized GOx and SWCNT electronic film at the negative potential value (-0.45 V vs. Ag/AgCl). The SWCNT electronic film-based glucose biosensor exhibited a sensitivity of 98 ㎂/mM·cm2. In addition, the SWCNT electronic film biosensor showed the excellent selectivity (less than 4 % change) against a variety of redox-active interfering substances, such as ascorbic acid, uric acid, dopamine, and acetaminophen, by avoiding co-oxidation of the interfering substances at the negative potential value.
The title compound (C13H17NO2S) is monoclinic, space group P21/a, with a = 13.756 (3), b = 9.310(4), c = 21.305(3) $\AA$, $\beta$ = 95.0。, Z = 8, V = 2718.11 $\AA$3, Dc = 1.23$g·{\cdot}cm-3$, (Mo k$\alpha$) = 0.71069$\AA$,$\mu$ = 2.18 cm-1, F(000) = 1071.86, T = 298, R = 0.085 for 2935 unique observed reflections with I >2.0$\sigma$(I). The structure was solved by direct methods. The C-H bond lengths and the methyl groups are fixed and refined as their ideal geometry by allowing to ride on the parent atoms. Both molecules A and B have almost same structures except for two terminal ethyl groups. The ethylene-like skeleton including the nitro group in one molecule is nearly perpendicular to the plane of the methylbenzene group and two ethyl groups form a cis-type structure which has the dfferent orientations between two molecules; in the molecule A, two terminal methyl groups being the opposite directional arrangement against the plane of its skeleton, while in the B, with the same directional structure from its plane. The molecules in the crystal are packed together by non-bonded van der Waals forces.
The new Nd3Ba5Co4O15 phase was synthesized with Nd2O3, BaCO3, and Co3O4 by solid state reaction at 1200℃ with intermittent grinding. The crystal structure of Nd3Ba5Co4O15 has been refined on X-ray diffraction powder data by means of Rietveld method. The starting model was based on the Nd3.43Ba4.42Co2.23Al1.77O15 structure. The crystal system was hexagonal, space group P63mc(186), a=11.629(3) Å, c=6.842(2) Å. Final R values were Rwp=0.097 and Rp=0.068. The structure consists of clusters of CoVICoIV3O15 in which a CoVI octahedron shares corners with 3CoIV tetrahedra.

In this study, the antioxidant, cytoprotective and antimicrobial activities of 50% ethanol extract of Polygoni multiflori Radix (PMR) and its ethyl acetate fraction were evaluated to confirm the applicability as a functional ingredient. The activities of the major constituent of PMR were verified and 2, 3, 5, 4′-tetrahydroxystilbene 2-O-${\beta}$-D-glucoside (THSG) was confirmed to be the main component of extract and fraction using HPLC-DAD, LC-EIS-MS analysis. The phenolic and THSG contents of the ethyl acetate fraction were 11.1- and 3.0-folds higher than those of the ethanol extract, respectively. As a result of the DPPH assay and that of luminol dependent chemiluminescence assay in $Fe^{3+}$-EDTA/H2O2 system. the ethylacetate fraction was superior to the ethanol extract in free radical and ROS scavenging activities. Especially, the ethyl acetate fraction and THSG exhibited the similar scavenging activity like L-ascorbic acid in ROS scavenging activity. The ethyl acetate fraction perceived the most potent cytoprotective effect against oxidative damage of erythrocytes induced by photosensitization reaction, followed by the ethanol fraction, THSG and that of (+)-${\alpha}$-tocopherol, which was used as a positive control. Antimicrobial activities were evaluated by disc diffusion and broth microdilution assay against S. aureus, E. coli, P. aeruginosa and C. albicans. In particular, the antibacterial activity of the extract and fraction against S. aureus was superior to that of methyl paraben. Taken together, our results suggest that PMR could be used as a natural ingredient for antioxidant, cytoprotective and antimicrobial activities.
