Since 2010, Goth styles have risen rapidly in prominence as one of the major trends of fashion. This study intends to understand the Goth style shown from the modern fashion by examining its historically formative characteristics and internal meanings of the Goth style. With mystic attitude toward the medieval Gothic culture, Goth style refers to its reproduction over the cultural circles including music, literature and arts. From the result of the historical review, the formative characteristics of the Goth style may be divided into darkness, distortion, memento mori and bricolage. The historical review of the Goth style contains symbolic meaning of mystery, terror, escape and theatricality. After 2000, Goth style, in combination with factors such as postmodernism and human desire, has been established as the main trend of modern fashion, going with the popular culture. The formativeness of modern Goth fashion is the same as that of Goth style examined from the historic review. However, in modern Goth fashion, the symbolic meaning has the processes of the new: unconsciousness, kitsch, overthrow and popularity.

홍콩영화<무쌍>은 위조지폐 제작과정, 스릴있는 총격전, 폭파장면을 기반으로 한 복잡한 스토리 전개와 예상 밖의 반전 결말, 그리고 월드스타 주윤발의 개성 등 다양한 요소로 영화 흥행에 성공시켰다. 영화의 전개과정에서, 감독은 사건의 전개자인 이문을 이용해 시각을 한정시켜 경찰과 관중을 속임수에 빠지도록 이끌었고, 배우 주윤발의 상징성을 통해 관객들에게 "화가"로서의 이미지를 부각시켰으며, 각기 다른 인물과 장소의 복합적인 서술과 플래시백을 도입함으로써 복선층의 전개구조로 진상을 층층이 밝혀내었다. 영화에서 3번의 대반전이 나타나는데, 반전 때마다 영화의 전개가 완전히 뒤집혔고, 또 뒤집힌 전개가 앞 스토리와 어떠한 관련이 있는지 관객이 알아채지 못하도록 하였다. 이 때문에 충만한 긴장감을 불러일으켜 관객들로 하여금 공감대를 형성하였고, 진실을 가려내는 심리게임 과정을 통해 완벽한 해방감과 해탈감을 느끼도록 하였다.

Carnival is an allowed chance to express ordinarily suppressed and overlooked emotions. Especially with strong meaning of daily overthrow masks, masquerades, and mask-costumes are essential for expressing methods and festival personality reasons. This study aims to figure out any possible expanded expression methods and diverse formative effects in fashion design by recognizing the importance of objects that suggest new paradigms as a means of expressing aesthetic consciousness in contemporary fashion and analogizing the formative characteristics of objects used in fashion and their significance. Accordingly, the study focuses on analyzing and interpreting objects introduced to fashion design with a formative view by substituting the concept of an object that has taken an important position in the contemporary arts for fashion. This study further aims to examine the concept of objects by trend and their characteristics within a syntactical structure and come up with a standard for classification of objects and a framework of analysis from cubism in the early 20th century when the concept of an object began to appear in arts to Dadaism, Surrealism, Pop art, Land art, Environmental art and the present time. Finally, the study aims to examine the status of objects in fashion and the relationships between fashion and objects through analyses on fashion objects and to suggest new perspectives and approaches to interpret the contemporary fashion in the 21st century.
