Purpose: The purpose of this study is to evaluate the clinical and radiologic results of using Acutrak screws for treating ankle medial malleolar fracture. Materials and Methods: We reviewed 38 cases of ankle medial malleolar fracture treated with Acutrak screws from February 2005 to May 2008. Results: In clinical result, there were 30 exellent cases, 7 good cases, 1 fair case. In radiologic result, there is no case with reduction loss. Average union time is 10.5 weeks. Conclusion: We conclude that Acutrak screw fixation is a useful method for ankle medial malleolar fracture, there are many advantages in accurate anatomical reduction, small incision, short operative time.

We report on a rare case of an intraosseous epidermoid cyst in the distal phalanx of the great toe with concurrent infection in a 71-year-old woman with diabetes mellitus. The lesion was initially considered simple infectious arthritis and concomitant osteomyelitis in a patient with diabetes. However, after surgery, an intraosseous epidermoid cyst originating from the nail bed and involving the articular surface of the distal phalanx was detected. The epidermoid cyst may have contributed to the infectious arthritis in the interphalangeal joint. The lesion was treated via mass excision, arthrotomy, debridement, and intravenous antibiotics.

Stiff-person syndrome is a rare disorder, and the natural history of the syndrome has not been completely ascertained. The symptoms range from mild to severe and can progress over time: the final result can be significant disability. However, this syndrome is often misdiagnosed due to a lack of understanding of the clinical manifestations. We report the case of a patient who presented with slowly progressing gait disturbance and lower extremity pain and was later diagnosed as suffering from stiff-person syndrome. The patient experienced symptomatic improvement after the administration of benzodiazepines. No recurrence of symptoms has been reported. If the characteristic clinical features and electromyography findings of the syndrome are accurately interpreted, diagnosis of patients with abnormal muscle tension can be effectively done.

주5일제 근무의 도입으로 인하여 스포츠 활동에 참여하는 인구가 많이 증가하였으며 그 결과로 스포츠 손상의 빈도가 비례하여 증가하는 추세이다. 겨울 스포츠 중 최근 청소년과 젊은이들 사이에 인기를 얻고 있는 스노우 보드로 인한 척추 관련 손상은 그 문헌 보고가 많지 않은 실정으로 저자들이 스노우 보드 손상에 따른 요추의 압박 골절 환자를 경험하여 이를 보고하고자한다.

슬관절의 후외측 불안정성은 많은 연구가 필요한 손상 중의 하나이다 치료에 있어서도 여러 술기들이 고안되어 왔지만 아직 까지 만족할 만한 치료법은 없는 상황이다. 이에 저자들은 동종 후경골건을 이 용하여 외측측부인대와 슬와건을 동시에 재건하는 새로운 술식을 소개하고자 한다.

좌골 조면 견열 골절은 초기 청소년기에 슬괵건의 급격한 견인력에 의해 발생하는 급성 손상인 반면, 좌골 조면의 견인 골단염은 과도한 활동과 반복된 미세 외상에 의해 서서히 발생하며 진단시 간과하기 쉽다. 저자들은 태권도 선수로 활동 중인 16세 남자에서 특징적인 방사선 소견을 보이는 간과된 좌골 조면 견열 골절과 반대쪽의 견인 골단염이 동시에 나타난 드문 증례를 경험하여 문헌 고찰과 함께 보고하고자 한다.

Background: To report the radiological and clinical outcomes of internal fixation using distal clavicle hook plates for distal clavicle fractures. Methods: From April 2008 to December 2012, 32 patients with distal clavicle fractures underwent surgery using an AO hook plate. The reduction was qualified and evaluated according to the radiological findings. The evaluation of the clinical outcomes was performed with the University of California at Los Angeles (UCLA) score, the Korean Shoulder score, and the visual analogue scale (VAS) pain score. Results: By radiological evaluation, we found that 31 of 32 patients showed anatomical reduction and solid bone union. Although we obtained satisfactory UCLA scores, Korean Shoulder Scale scores, and VAS pain scores, 12 cases of complications were present. We found 4 cases of osteolysis of the acromion, 1 case of nonunion, 3 cases of periprosthetic fractures, 3 cases of subacromial pain, and 1 case of skin irritation. We performed re-operations in 2 patients. Conclusions: To avoid complications associated with clavicle hook plates, choosing the appropriate hook size and bending of the hook according to the slope of the acromion undersurface is critical. Also, we believe that early removal of clavicle plates may help reduce complications.

Most pigmented villonodular synovitis (PVNS) is occurred in knee joint and finger of hand. PVNS is rarely occurred in shoulder joint. In English and French literatures, less than 30 cases were reported. We report 3 PVNS cases with rotator cuff tears, which was treated by arthroscoic extensive synovectomy, debridement and rotator cuff repair. The PVNS with rotator cuff tear in shoulder joint was rarely reported in the Korean literature.

Panner's disease, osteonecrosis of the capitellum of the elbow, was first reported by Panner in 1927. The disease occurs mainly in boys between 6 and 15 years old and shows unilateral distribution. Pain, stiffness, localized tenderness over the lateral condyle of the elbow, and decreased range of motion are the typical clinical symptoms. Conservative treatment is generally recommended for patients in the early stage of this disease. A few cases of Panner's disease have been reported and few are related to long-term follow-up results. To the best of our knowledge, all reported cases were over six years. Therefore, we report on a five-year-old boy diagnosed as Panner's disease that showed resorption and regeneration of the humeral capitellum with no limitation of motion over three years. The current study was exempted from review by the institutional review board because it was a single retrospective case report. Informed consent was obtained from the patient's guardian.

Followed by a paper on the Pig and Bone orthopedic prosthetic, this experiment using Phantom and Bone MRI imaging I, II of orthopedic prosthetic metal effect combines magnetic resonance imaging on metal signal-to-noise ratio(Signal to noise : SNR) and CNR(Contrast to noise: CNR), fat signal suppression(Fat-suppression) images was compared. Specimen trees to measure the reliability of the experimental reproducibility tests and statistical analysis using the SPSS statistical package was applied program SPSS(IBM SPSS Statistice 19) by * P = 0.000 < significance level $({\alpha})$ = 0.01 as a significant there was a correlation(** P < 0.01). SNR and CNR results did not directly proportional to the Titanium, Stainless, Clip CNR and fat signal suppression of the order of images of blood specimens was found to be close to the image. The impact of orthopedic prosthetic metals on magnetic resonance imaging in the diagnostic value of Titanium is relatively high and are meant more.
