Objectives : The present study, to confirm the osteoblast differentiation effects of Acer tegmentosum Maxim. (AT) extract. Methods : In this experiment, cell viability, Alizarin red S assay, and Alkaline phosphatase (ALP) activity with AT extract (50, $100{\mu}g/m{\ell}$). Also, we studied the expression of differentiation regulator with AT extract in primary calvarial osteoblasts cells (pOB). Results : As a result of AT treatment, we determined that AT extract stimulates ALP activity and alizarin red activities in the pOB cells for mineralization for 18 days. Moreover, these factors increasing osteogenic markers such as Runt-related transcription factor2 ($Run{\times}2$), osteocalcin (OC), osteopontin, osterix, smad1, smad5, activating transcription factor4 (ATF4) and collagen type I alpha 1. Conclusions : These results indicate that AT extract have effect on bone through the promotion of osteoblastic differentiation, suggesting that it could be used for the treatment of bone diseases.

This is a case report about agoraphobia patient treated with oriental medical psychotherapy. We treated with Kyungja-pyungji(Stabilization of anxiety) treatment, Ii- Jeung-Byun-Qi(movement of emotion and degeneration of Qi) treatment, Giungoroen-Focusing(wise saying and lofty opinion) method for 8 weeks. She could not go out herself without her mother for the first teatment time, but she improved step and she could go by herself to the public place at the last time. We found out that the application of systemic oriental medical psychotherapy is effective for the agoraphobia disorder. Therefore, we presented application of oriental medical psychotherapy with bibliological research.

Objectives : This study is an investigation the clinical development of oriental neuropsychiatry through the practical application of respiration techniques in oriental medicine and Buddhism. Methods : Oriental medicine and Buddhism both make much use of respiration techniques. According to a comparative study on these; A group for the clinical application of oriental medical respiration methods, and A study both the differences and common features of oriental medical and Buddhist respiration techniques, to deliver therapeutic and preventive medical assistance to patients. Results and Conclusion : 1. Oriental medical respiration techniques have as their object the prevention and treatment of disease through smooth circulation of Gi(氣) and Hyeol(血) according to the concentration of the mind on acupuncture points. 2. Buddhist respiration techniques make use of planned psychological rest and ascetic practical expedience according to the close observation of the five senses(五感) of the real world through exhalation(呼) and inhalation(吸) based on Buddhist philosophy. 3. Although the pursuit of oriental medicine and Buddhism can be different, I think a need to develop new respiration techniques can lead to psychological balance and medical treatment through compounding both sets of knowledge.

Acer tegmentosum Maxim (ATM) has been used to treat hepatic disorders in traditional oriental medicine. However, there is little information about phytochemical constituents for quality control of ATM. In this study, we developed and established a simultaneous analytical method of the 10 marker compounds (three coumarins, 3 flavonoids, 1 lignan, 3 phenolics) in ATM using ultra-performance liquid chromatography-mass spectrometry (UPLC-MS/MS). Chromatographic separation of ten target analytes was achieved with a Waters Acquity UPLC BEH $C_{18}$ analytical column ($2.1{\times}100mm$, $1.7{\mu}m$), using a mobile phase of 0.1% (v/v) formic acid in water and acetonitrile with gradient elution. Identifications and quantitation of all analytes were performed using a Q-Exactive UPLC-MS/MS system. Correlation coefficients of the calibration curve for all analytes were ${\geq}0.9986$. The values of limits of detection and quantification of all analytes were 0.5-10.0 and 5.0-50.0 ng/mL, respectively. The established UPLC-MS/MS method successfully identified all target analytes in ATM, and the phytochemicals were 0.01-67.98 mg/g in its lyophilized water extract.

Objectives The purpose of this study is to report the effectiveness of topical application of Korean medicine on treating neonatal seborrheic dermatitis. Methods We treated a 22-days-old patient who was diagnosed with neonatal seborrheic dermatitis by topical application of Korean medicine. Results After 2 weeks of the treating by topical application of Korean medicine, patient's seborrheic dermatitis on the face was disappeared. Conclusions Topical application of Korean medicine can be effective in treating neonatal seborrheic dermatitis.

This study was done to review problems in terms of statistical description and statistical application and analysis. Methods; The authors reviewed 42 statistical clinical study papers excluding 12 Overview papers, 75 Descriptive papers, 48 Animal studies out of 177 papers in the Journal of Oriental Neuropsychiatry in the 5 years from 2002 to 2006. Results : 1) 3 papers(7.1%) had no description of statistical method, only P-values, 25 papaers(59.5%) had tables without description of statistical method, 1 paper (2.3%) had no description of statistical method in study method. 2) 10 papers(23.8%) contained problems in terms of statistical application and analysis. 6papers (6/23, 26.0%) for Student t-test, 2 papers(2/7 28.6%)for $X^2$- test, 1 paper(1/15 6.7%) for the analysis of variance, 1 paper(1/6 16.7%) for Pearson correlation contained statistical problems. Conclusion : It was suggested that consultation of investigators with statisticians and more extensive statistical refereeing, the form of the guidelines for description and application of statistics are needed.

How to appropriately apply the theories of oriental diet therapy in terms of direction and development are pressing concerns. To address these concerns, this study was performed to provide basic ideas to further the understanding oriental medicinal cuisine(Yack-Sun) and aid its application. Presently, basic data on the nutritional composition and oriental diet therapy area approach of Reajerksodo-tang was acquired to predict the usefulness of Reajerksodo-tang as an edema-related diuretic to promotes urination, drains heat and leaches out dampness. Reajerksodo-tang energy was 67.3 kcal per 100 g, crude protein was 77.2 g, crude fat was 5.7 g, crude ash was 0.6 g and carbohydrate was 16.5 g per 100 g. This basic data could help guide the application of oriental medicinal resources into other foods and serve as a stepping-stone for use of Reajerksodo-tang in the burgeoning field of function foods. Lastly, the scientific effects of oriental medicinal foods developed according to oriental medicinal theory. It is believed to be essential for government policy development concerning validation of medicinal effects and assessment, with the aim of fostering systematic development and providing guidance to food development in the interest of national health.

Objective : The purpose of this study is to research whether Inyeong Chon spot pulse(人迎氣口脈) could be used on application of Ohaeng-acupuncture(五行鍼法). Methods : I research ${\ll}$Naegyeong${\gg}$(內經) and annotations were excerpted and record that notied the Inyeong Chon spot pulse(人迎氣口脈). Results : Comparison of Inyeong Chon spot pulse and Deficiency Excess syndrome of meridian system is useful to use Zheng Ge(正格) and Sheng Ge(勝格) of Ohaeng-acupuncture(五行鍼法) but in application of Han Ge(寒格) and Re Ge(熱格), Inyeong Chon spot pulse(人迎氣口脈) is not useful.

Objectives : This study was intended to establish for medical treatment range of Ojeoksan and to help extending application of medical insurance through prescriptive research. Methods : We analyzed "Dongeuibogam", "Taepyeonghaeminhwajegukbang" and other books Result : 1. composition of Ojeoksan in "Dongeuibogam" is same as in "Gogeumeuigam" 2. Ojeoksan is composed of five kinds of basic prescripitions; Er Chen Tang, Ping Wei San, Ma Huang Tang, Si Wu Tang etc. and it used for five pathological factors; cold, energy, eating, phlegm, blood. 3. Property of Ojeoksan is warm so it can be used for any cold diseases. 4. Ojeoksan is used for 16 kinds of diseases including chest pain, abdominal pain etc. Conclusion : Ojeoksan can be used for cardiovascular disorders and Ojeoksan is possible to apply or to extend medical insurance coverage.
