  • The physicochemical properties of the fatty acid monomolecular Arachidic Acid, Stearic Acid films surface structure has been studied by AFM. We give pressure stimulation into organic thin films and then manufacture a device under the accumulation condition that the state surface pressure is gas state, liquid state, solid state. Formation that prevent when gas phase state and liquid phase state measure but could know organic matter that molecules form equal and stable film when molecules were not distributed evenly, and accumulated in solid state only.

  • In this paper, evaluation of physical properties was made for dielectric relaxation phenomena by the detection of the surface pressures and displacements current on the monolayer films of fatty acid monomolecular Arachidic Acid, Stearic Acid using compressing velocity. LB(Langmuir-Blodgett) thin films were manufacture by detecting deposition for the accumulation and the current was measured after the electric bias was applied across the manufactured MIM device. The physicochemical properties of the fatty acid monomolecular Arachidic Acid, Stearic Acid films surface structure has been studied by AFM. The Third-Order Nonlinear Optical Susceptibilities of Long-Chained Organic Molecules

  • The third-order nonlinear optical susceptibilities of $\beta$-carotene, retinal and retinol have been measured using self-induced ellipse rotation and dc-Kerr effects. The strengths of $\chi$1221(-$\omega$, $\omega$, -$\omega$, $\omega$) and $\chi$1221(-$\omega$, $\omega$, 0, 0) measured by the two different methods are not different each other significantly. And it is observed that the strength of the third order nonlinear optical susceptibility is relatively insensitive to the conformational difference between retinal and retinol. It is also demonstrated that the third order nonlinear optical susceptibility of long-chained organic molecules is dependent upon the number of the double-bonds.

Synthesis and Optical Properties of Novel Chemosensor Based on Rhodamine 6G

  • The opto-functional materials have been developed as a promising research topic toward the end uses for optical materials and applications. The attractive area in this part was the design of sensor molecules for detecting harmful environmental factors. These harmful factors impart undesired effects on wide range of chemical and biological phenomenon. In this context, many researchers have studied luminescence chemosensor materials. These sensor molecules showed optical signals such as color or fluorescence change by detecting harmful environmental factors. In this study, the novel fluorescence chemosensor 1 has been designed and synthesized through reaction of rhodamine 6g hydrazide and 2-hydroxy-1-naphthaldehyde. The chemosensor 1 had been analyzed by UV-Vis and fluorescence spectrophotometer. We found that this chemosensor 1 has 'off-on' and dual type sensing properties toward $Cu^{2+}$ and $Mg^{2+}$.

Synthesis, Photophysical and Aggregation Properties of Novel Phenanthrene and Pyrene Substituted Phthalocyanines

  • We have explained the synthesis of novel phenanthrene and pyrene substituted phthalocyanines (PC-PHE and PC-PYR) and fully confirmed the structures by its spectral, photo physical and elemental analysis. For these phthalocyanines we checked the UV-Visible absorbance in PGMEA and chloroform and transmittance checked in PGMEA. The transmittance results suggested that these phthalocyanines are showing more than 90% transmittance at the 450-550 nm region. These synthesized molecules are nicely soluble in almost all industrial solvents. We checked the aggregation property of these phthalocyanines in PGMEA, and the results suggested no any aggregation for these molecules in PGMEA. The thermogravimetric analysis results concluded that PC-PHE and PC-PYR had high thermal stability. All studies explain that these new phthalocyanines are more suitable for LCD green color filter application.

  • Organic photovoltaic cells (OPVs) have attracted considerable attention due to their low cost, light-weight and flexible characteristics. Small molecules have advantages of well-defined structure and easy synthesis. In this work, new tetrazine, DPP, and furan-based oligomers for organic solar cell were synthesized by Suzuki coupling reaction. The structures were confirmed by NMR and optical and electronic properties were investigated by UV-vis absorption.

Fabrication of Large-Scale Single-Crystal Organic Nanowire Arrays for High-Integrated Flexible Electronics

  • Large-scale single-crystal organic nanowire arrays were generated using a direct printing method (liquidbridge- mediated nanotransfer molding) that enables the simultaneous synthesis, alignment and patterning of nanowires from molecular ink solutions. Using this method, single-crystal organic nanowires can easily be synthesized by self-assembly and crystallization of organic molecules within the nanoscale channels of molds, and these nanowires can then be directly transferred to specific positions on substrates to generate nanowire arrays by a direct printing process. Repeated application of the direct printing process can be used to produce organic nanowire-integrated electronics with two- or three-dimensional complex structures on large-area flexible substrates. This efficient manufacturing method is used to fabricate all-organic nanowire field-effect transistors that are integrated into device arrays and inverters on flexible plastic substrates.

  • Natural benzo[c]phenanthridine and protoberberine alkaloids which have been attractive to synthetic organic chemists and biochemists over the last 2 decades since such compounds have shown interesting biological properties such as antitumor, antiviral and antimicrobacterial activities. For the systematic research on these alkaloids, several total syntheses of these alkaloids have been reported. However, the bulk of reported benzo[c]phenanthridine synthetic studies to date have involved multistep sequences for assembly of the target molecules as well as lack of generality for synthesizing substituted molecules.   • Organic molecules have many properties that make them attractive for electronic applications. We have been examining the progress of memory cell by using molecular-scale switch to give an example of the application using both nanoscale components and Si-technology. In this study, molecular electronic devices were fabricated with amion style derivatives as redox-active component to compare to the devices using Zn-Porphyrin derivatives. This molecule is amphiphilic to allow monolayer formation by the Langmuir-Blodgett (LB) method, and then this LB monolayer is inserted between two metal electrodes. According to current-voltage (I-V) characteristics, it was found that the devices show remarkable hysteresis behavior and can be used as memory devices at ambient conditions, when aluminum oxide layer was existed on bottom electrode. Diode-like characteristics were measured only, when Pt layer was existed as bottom electrode. It was also found that this metal layer interacts with the organic molecules and acts as a protecting layer, when thin Ti layer was inserted between the organic molecular layer and the top Al electrode. These electrical properties of the devices may be applicable to active components for the memory and/or logic gates in the future.
