Bioscouring of 100% Cotton Fabric with Alkaline Pectinase (알칼리 펙티나제를 이용한 면직물의 효소정련)

  • Study on the use of enzymes for textile wet processing has been very active. The exploratory research conducted herein is related to the bioscouring process for cotton fabric. The optimum concentration of alkaline pectinase(BioPrep) was in the range of 0.05~0.2 g/l, the proper treatment time was 30~60 minutes, the appropriate treatment temperature was $60^{\circ}C$ for both the batch method and the padding method. The simultaneous desizing/bioscouring by padding method did not give water absorbency as good as the bioscouring after desizing. Color of fabrics which were bioscoured and dyed with direct dyes and a reactive dye was just a little darker than that of NaOH scoured one. K/S and Lab values of the bioscoured fabrics, regardless of the degree of water absorbency, were quite similar to each other.

  • An Optimal shape design of the boom system in high ladder vehicles is performed using 3-D finite element method (FEM). Results of structural analyses providing displacements, stresses are implemented for the optimum shape design. Lanzcos algorithm is used for the modal analysis in order to find natural frequencies. The optimal shape including cross sectional thickness and length of the boom system is controlled by the subproblem method besed on displacement and Von Mises stress. It is found that a plenty of materials can be saved by using shape design optimization in high ladder vehicles. It is also found that the natural frequency is increased until 6th mode and maintained similarly or decreased after 6th mode.

  • This study is to obtain basic data concerned with properties of foam for foamed concrete and foaming method. Main factors of this study are types of foaming agents, temperature of solution with foaming agents, and types of foam generator. Testing items are size distribution of foam, foaming ratio to solution, and stability of foam. The results of this study were shown as follow. It is optimum condition of foam generator that length/diameter of foaming tube is 2.0, bead size within foaming tube is $4\~6mm$, and nozzle size of foaming tube is 10mm. AES and AOS are good results to produce high quality foam, and stability of foam is good in foaming temperature of $20^{\circ}C$.

  • DNA computing has been applied to the problem of getting an optimal solution since Adleman's experiment. DNA computing uses strings with various length and four-type bases that makes more useful for finding a global optimal solutions of the complex multi-modal problems. This paper presents DNA coding method for finding optimal solution of the multi-modal function and compares the efficiency of this method with the genetic algorithms (GA). GA searches effectively an optimal solution via the artificial evolution of individual group of binary string and DNA coding method uses a tool of calculation or Information store with DNA molecules and four-type bases denoted by the symbols of A(Ademine), C(Cytosine), G(Guanine) and T(Thymine). The same operators, selection, crossover, mutation, are applied to the both DNA coding algorithm and genetic algorithms. The results show that the DNA based algorithm performs better than GA.

Crack-Healing Behavior of SiC with Additive SiO2 Colloid

  • This study focuses on the crack-healing behavior and bending strength of SiC ceramics with sintering additives of $SiO_2$colloid. Optimized crack-healing condition was found to be 1hr at an atmosphere of 1373 K. The maximum crack size that can be healed at the optimized condition was a semi-elliptical surface crack of $450{\mu}m$ in diameter. After heat treatment at the optimum temperature in air, the crack morphology almost entirely disappeared and the strength recovered to the value of the smooth specimens at room temperature for the investigated crack sizes up to $450{\mu}m$. The crack with width $1.4{\mu}m$ can be completely heal the surface crack.

  • This paper describes optimum conditions for depositing Langumuir Blodgett(LB) films. $\pi$-A isotherm characteristics were studied with the following species, $C_{18}$-Quinolium(TCNQ), $C_{22}$-Quinolium(TCNQ), Azobenzene, Arachidic Acid, by varing length of alkyl chains, temperacture, pH, spreading amount, barrier moving speed and etc. We have observed the change of $\pi$-A isotherm depending on the above variations. From there we investigate the depositing conditions of LB films for each material.

  • Recently, the regulations from the government and the concerns of people be raised to the interest in exhaust and intake noise of passenger car as much as other vehicles. In these demands, performance prediction software was developed in this paper. In this study, Robust design was used for improving the noise reduction capacity of intake system with the performance prediction software. On the basis of the existing design, length and radius of each component that was thought to be effective to the performance of intake system was selected. At first, factors are arranged by using Ll8 table of orthogonal array and then optimum value can be obtained by modified Ll6 table of orthogonal array.

  • This styudy analyzed the main bodies, marginal space, Position of the main bodies of curent textbooks in high schools and "the eriteria of reading system for textbooks" which was sugested the Department of Education and Provided some sugestions for the improvement. The research methods used for the study were both literature review and survey rdsdarch with a questionaire. Inorder to research for the main body of textbook, space of margin, the optimum position fo the main body, sizes of litters, spaces between letters, words, lines length of lines, sizes of main body and margin, and margin, and postitionof main body were checked through a related literature review. For the questionaire experiment, a questionaire based on data drawn from analysis of textbooks, "criteria for reading system of textbook" sugested by the Department of Education, and some suggestions for improvement by the researcher was made and used for the test, targetting 384 body and girl students in high schools.

  • In order to optimize an agricultural tractor clutch mechanism system, its structural static and kinematic mechanism were analyzed. The operating force of the mechanical tractor clutch system is currently not appropriate to drive comfortably. So it is needed to reduce the clutch operating force by applying advanced engineering design techniques. In the present study, an optimization technology is applied to the design of tractor clutch systems to reduce the operating force. As a result of the optimization using 2 link-angles and 1 link-length which are the main design variables of the clutch linkage system, the maximum pushing force of the maximum clutch pedal was found 182.8N, 14% decreased compared to the existing clutch system. The effectiveness of the optimum design is certified by menas of an experiment.
