Time Optimal Performance of a Varying-Time Sharing Sequential Paired Thrusting Logic (순차적 가변시간할당 추력방식 최적성능 분석)

  • Time-optimal performances are analyzed in the sense of inner loop. A varying-time sharing thrusting logic is suggested as a new sequential paired thrusting logic for fast maneuvers of satellites with coupled thruster configuration. Its time-optimal maneuvering performance is compared with two conventional thrusting logics: separate thrusting logic and constant-time sharing sequential paired thrusting logic. It is found that the newly suggested varying-time sharing thrusting logic can be easily implemented by adjusting the conventional constant-time logic with its thrust on-time, while it can reduce the maneuvering time enormously as much as the separate thrusting logic. The performance of the logic is simulated on the agile maneuvering spacecraft model KOMPSAT-II.

  • This paper proposes a high performance position controller for a driving system using a time optimal controller which has been widely used to control driving systems to achieve desired reference position or velocity in a minimum response time. The main purpose of this research lies in an improvement of transient response performance rather than that of steady-state response in comparison with other control strategies. In order to refine the scheme of time optimal control, Lyapunov stability proofs are incorporated in a controller of standard second order system model. This scheme is applied to the control of a driving system. In view of the simulation and experiment results, the standard second order system model exhibits better minimum-time control performance and robustness than double integral system model does.

  • In this paper we use iterative dynamic programming in the discrete case to solve a wide range of the nonlinear equations systems. First, by defining an error function, we transform the problem to an optimal control problem in discrete case. In using iterative dynamic programming to solve optimal control problems up to now, we have broken up the problem into a number of stages and assumed that the performance index could always be expressed explicitly in terms of the state variables at the last stage. This provided a scheme where we could proceed backwards in a systematic way, carrying out optimization at each stage. Suppose that the performance index can not be expressed in terms of the variables at the last stage only. In other words, suppose the performance index is also a function of controls and variables at the other stages. Then we have a nonseparable optimal control problem. Furthermore, we obtain the path from the initial point up to the approximate solution.

  • In this study, we introduce new types of planar 2 degree-of-freedom robot modules resembling the musculoskeletal structure of the human arm with actuation redundancy. First, for the given actuator sizes the performance analysis for the manipulator with redundant actuation and without redundant actuation is performed with respect to maximum load handling capacity, maximum hand velocity, and maximum hand acceleration. Secondly an algorithm which decides optimal actuator sizes for the given operational performances is introduced, and the optimal actuator sizes for a robot module with four redundant actuation are obtained. The algorithms employed in this paper will be useful to analyze the robot performances and to determine the actuator sizes for general robot manipulators.

Performance improvement of heuristic algorithm to assign job in parallel line inspection process (병렬라인 검사공정의 작업배분을 위한 휴리스틱 알고리즘의 성능 개선)

  • In this paper, we raised the performance of heuristic algorithm to assign job to workers in parallel line inspection process without sequence. In previous research, we developed the heuristic algorithm. But the heuristic algorithm can't find optimal solution perfectly. In order to solve this problem, we proposed new method to make initial solution called FN(First Next) method and combined the new FN method and old FE method using previous heuristic algorithm. Experiments of assigning job are performed to evaluate performance of this FE+FN heuristic algorithm. The result shows that the FE+FN heuristic algorithm can find the optimal solution to assign job to workers evenly in many type of cases. Especially, in case there are optimal solutions, this heuristic algorithm can find the optimal solution perfectly.

  • This paper suggest an optimal identification method to complex and nonlinear system modeling that is based on Fuzzy-Neural Network(FNN). The FNN modeling implements parameter identification using HCM algorithm and optimal identification algorithm structure combined with two types of optimization theories for nonlinear systems, we use a HCM Clustering Algorithm to find initial parameters of membership function. The parameters such as parameters of membership functions, learning rates and momentum coefficients are adjusted using optimal identification algorithm. The proposed optimal identification algorithm is carried out using both a genetic algorithm and the improved complex method. Also, an aggregate objective function(performance index) with weighted value is proposed to achieve a sound balance between approximation and generalization abilities of the model. To evaluate the performance of the proposed model, we use the time series data for gas furnace, the data of sewage treatment process and traffic route choice process.

  • The design of optimal filter yielding optimal texture feature separation is a most effective technique in many torture analyzing areas, such as perception of surface, object, shape and depth. But, most optimal filter design approaches are restricted to the issue of computational complexity and supervised problems. In this paper, Our proposed method yields new insight into the design of optimal Gabor filters for segmenting multiple texture images. The optimal frequency of Gator filter is turned to the optimal frequency of the distinct texture in frequency domain. In order to show the performance of the designed filters, we have attempted to build a various texture images. Our experimental results show that the performance of the system is very successful.

  • This paper uses genetic algorithm (GA) for optimal control. GA can find optimal control profile, but the profile may be oscillating feature. To make profile smooth, fuzzy genetic algorithm (FGA) is proposed. GA with fuzzy logic techniques for optimal control can make optimal control profile smooth. We describe the Fuzzy Genetic Algorithm that uses a fuzzy knowledge based system to control GA search. Result from the simulation example shows that GA can find optimal control profile and FGA makes a performance improvement over a simple GA.

  • In order to design a low complexity and high performance SOVA decoder for Turbo Codes, we need to analyze the decoding performance with respect to several important design parameters and find out optimal values for them. Thus, we use a scaling factor of soft output and a update depth as the parameters and analyze their effect on the BER performance of the SOVA decoder. finally, we shows the optimal values of them for maximum decoding performance of SOVA decoder for 3GPP complied Turbo codes.

  • In this paper, an optimal design method to have a good performance is researched. The parameters which are senstive to the performance are examined and determined by using evolutionary computations and commercial CAD program to have good performance. Design method simulated is compared with conventional procedure.
