A Quick Hybrid Atmospheric-interference Compensation Method in a WFS-less Free-space Optical Communication System

  • In wave-front-sensor-less adaptive optics (WFS-less AO) systems, the Jacopo Antonello (JA) method belongs to the model-based class and requires few iterations to achieve acceptable distortion correction. However, this method needs a lot of measurements, especially when it deals with moderate or severe aberration, which is undesired in free-space optical communication (FSOC). On the contrary, the stochastic parallel gradient descent (SPGD) algorithm only requires three time measurements in each iteration, and is widely applied in WFS-less AO systems, even though plenty of iterations are necessary. For better and faster compensation, we propose a WFS-less hybrid approach, borrowing from the JA method to compensate for low-order wave front and from the SPGD algorithm to compensate for residual low-order wave front and high-order wave front. The correction results for this proposed method are provided by simulations to show its superior performance, through comparison of both the Strehl ratio and the convergence speed of the WFS-less hybrid approach to those of the JA method and SPGD algorithm.

  • 본 논문에서는 MLA (microlens array)를 이용한 자동차 커뮤니케이션 램프 설계 방안에 대한 연구를 진행하였다. 자율주행기술의 발전으로 보행자와 차량 간의 소통을 위한 커뮤니케이션 램프가 자동차에 필요하게 되었다. 광학계의 크기를 줄이고, 높은 광량을 확보하기 위해 MLA를 사용하여 커뮤니케이션 램프 광학계를 설계하였다. 또한, 기울어진 지면에서 선명한 image를 확보하기 위해 중첩방안을 고려하여 설계를 진행하였다. 이후 중첩 전 MLA 광학계와 성능 비교를 통해 향상된 성능을 확인하였다.

  • Optical fiber subscriber receive communication system is a core technology of multimedia home networks because it provides the high-level quality of data and services. This paper executes an analysis and research on this communication systems and presents the theoretical background for the purpose of understanding the optical communication system principal and explaining signal process flows to divide each block for the implementing ASIC design.

  • The automatic assembly system of micro optical filter is a key technology in the development of optical modules with high functionality. In order to develop an automatic assembly system of optical fiber and filter, we have firstly developed the system and program capable of characterization of 30${\mu}m$-thick film filters as well as conventional optical filters. Moreover, we have carried out the characterization of optical filter using the developed system and program, and compared experimental results with by conventional handwork. The measurement of optical filters using the present system is faster, more precise and more reliable than those based on the conventional handwork.

  • We propose an improved selective randomized load balancing (ISRLB) robust scheme under the hose uncertainty model for a special double-hop routing network architecture. The ISRLB architecture maintains the resilience properties of Valiant's load balancing and reduces the network cost/propagation delay in all other robust routing schemes.
