A Study on the Factors Affecting the Entrepreneurial Intentions of Manufacturing Industry Employees: Focused on the Effects of Entrepreneurship and Personal Characteristics (중소 제조업 종사자의 창업의도에 미치는 영향 요인에 관한 연구: 기술개발 지원사업의 조절효과를 중심으로)

  • This research attempts to analyze the factors influencing the entrepreneurial intention of employees in manufacturing field. In particular, key factors of entrepreneurship and personal characteristics explain a significant association with the intention to start-up. And study whether R&D support from public enterprise adjusts intention to entrepreneurial Intention. This study conducted a online survey on 292 small and medium-sized enterprise manufacturing employees in May 2020. Using linear regression model and binary logistic model. The main study results are the following: First, among the key factors(innovativeness, proactiveness, risk-taking) of entrepreneurship, proactiveness hardly influenced the opportunity competency. Second, among the factors(risk-taking propensity, locus of control, tolerance for ambiguity) of personal characteristics, locus of control hardly influenced the opportunity competency. Third, opportunity competency(opportunity recognition and opportunity evaluation) had positive influence to entrepreneurial intention. Fourth, the study investigated the mediated effect of opportunity competency. The result showed that among the factors of entrepreneurship and personal characteristics, only two factors that are proactiveness and locus of control were not mediated by opportunity competency. and opportunity evaluation was acted as a mediator between proactiveness and entrepreneurial Intention, compared with opportunity recognition. Lastly, public enterprise's R&D supporting moderated the entrepreneurial intention). Based on the result, the study showed that first, the key factors of entrepreneurship except for proactiveness and personal characteristics(risk-taking propensity, locus of control, tolerance for ambiguity) except for locus of control affect the intention to start-up, repeatedly. This results are explained that employees have not started a business yet. Second, research on start-up suggests the need to analyze factors differentiated before and after the start-ups. Based on the results, entrepreneurship and personal characteristics show that study on the effects of start-up intentions should be carried out before and after the actual start-up takes place, and can be used as effective data in policies to promoting start-ups in manufacturing field.

Entrepreneurs' Competencies and Business Performance: A Meta-Analysis (창업가의 역량이 기업성과에 미치는 영향에 대한 메타분석)

  • The purpose of this study is to provide a theoretical basis for future studies by systematically integrating existing empirical studies that examine the relationship between the entrepreneurs' competencies and business performance. As the results of empirical studies examining the relationship between the entrepreneurs' competencies and business performance are mixed, this study tries to derive different results from individual studies through meta-analysis into standardized statistics(effect sizes). To accomplish the purpose, this study developed hypotheses about the positive effects of the entrepreneurial competencies including opportunity recognition competency, managerial competency, technical-functional competency, strategic competency, and relationship competencies on the business performance through theoretical reviews of the literature. Also, this study conducted meta-analysis with 15 sample data using open source based statistical program 'R'. The results of this study are as follows. The opportunity recognition competency, managerial competency, technical-functional competency, strategic competency, and relationship competency were found to significantly affect financial business performance. Also, each of the factors had a moderate effect size on the performance. Among these competencies, the most effective factor was the strategic competency, followed by the opportunity recognition competency, technical-functional competency, and relationship competency. There is still no study using meta-analysis on the relationship between the entrepreneurs' competencies and business performance in South Korea. Therefore, the results of this study are expected to provide implications for developing the theoretical basis of future studies.

The Effects of Information Technology Acceptance and Digital Media Utilization Capability on Senior Entrepreneurship Intention: Focusing on the Mediating Effect of Opportunity Recognition (정보기술 수용성과 디지털미디어 활용역량이 시니어 창업의도에 미치는 영향: 기회인식의 매개효과를 중심으로)

  • The global economic crisis, the trend of an aging society, and the rapid digital transformation are huge burdens and crises for our society. Due to these environmental changes and the economic recession, entrepreneurship and re-employment issues after retirement have emerged as social issues. This study was conducted to empirically analyze what factors affect seniors when they may start a business. In particular, as the fourth industrial revolution progresses, the focus was on the capability to utilize information and communication technology (ICT) and digital media that cannot be avoided. For empirical analysis, an online survey of seniors was conducted and 287 valid samples were analyzed. SPSS 24.0 and Macro Process 4.0 were used for statistical analysis. As a result of the empirical analysis of this study, self-efficacy and personal innovation for information technology acceptance(ICT), and communication capability using digital media had a significantly positive (+) effect on senior's entrepreneurial intention. However, the perceived usefulness of information technology and the capability to utilize digital media devices were not tested for significance. Among the variables that had a significant effect, personal innovation was found to have the greatest effect. Opportunity recognition was found to play a mediating role between self-efficacy, personal innovation, communication capabilities, and senior's entrepreneurial intention. The results of this study are of academic and practical significance in that digital media utilization capability is also an influential factor among various factors influencing the entrepreneurial intention of seniors.

  • This paper studied the transition of changes in social status of the film since 1980s' Korea. After accepting the changes in social status of the film as the legitimation process of recognition for social and cultural value, this study investigated those influencing factors. For the purpose, opportunity structure in social movement theory was engaged as a theoretical background. The structured opportunity, which was considered as external variables of the film world, was divided into chance and risk factors. In this paper, the opportunity factors, affecting the legitimation process of film, included the emergence of popular culture movement. The risk factors, being considered as the violation of American filmdom and the consequential response of strategies were also researched. Those factors were responsible not only for external variables of filmdom, but also for compensators and competitors in the legitimation process of the film. Since 1980s', cultural industrial growth and democratization generation's entry into the film world affected the legitimation of the film as significant cultural product. Besides, the threat of American film industry changed rationality and competitive landscape of Korean film world.

A Study on Technology Embedded English Classes Using QR Codes

  • The development of information and technology has brought plenty of changes to the educational environment. The prevalence of smart phones is particularly playing a huge role in shaping learning methods. Smart phones provide the opportunity to scan QR codes, which can greatly ease access to information. Due to a high recognition speed, recognition rate, and restoration rate, they can be useful tools for English teachers to use in their class. In this study, we suggest using QR codes for writing and picture descriptions. Based on this study, more research should invest in Technology Embedded English teaching models to create better English classes for students.

  • English has words that have a silent letter in their letter strings (e.g., knowledge). Such words provide an opportunity of investigating the role of phonological information in multi-syllabic words by comparing them to words that do not have the silent letter in the corresponding position (e.g., available). Stimuli that excluded a silent letter (e.g., _nowledge) were processed faster than those that excluded a sounding letter (e.g., _vailable) in the lexical decision task.   • With the recent increase in the number of cars and the lack of parking spaces, the number of parking businesses has increased. the parking management has become an essential element in parking business, and the parking management's company becomes an increasingly popular opportunity. However, as competition grows as more and more and companies increase in number, efforts are being made to create new services, gain technological excellence, or reduce costs through current system improvements. In this paper, we developed a parking management system using cloud based LPR(License Plate Recognition) service for effective parking. Structural improvements in the proposed system reduce costs, simplify installation, and respond quickly to failures and updates.

A Study on the Job Recognition and Career Preference of Physical Therapy Major College Students. (물리치료 전공 대학생의 직업인식도와 진로선호도에 관한 연구)

  • Background: The purpose of this study is to provide students with the opportunity to thing about the career of physical therapist and career after graduation through the survey on the perception and career preference of physical therapy service for college students majoring in physical therapy. and to provide guidance for employment guidance. Methods: A total of 271 students majoring in physical therapy at A University in Gyeonggi-do were surveyed. After the preliminary explanation of the questionnaire, the questionnaire was distributed and prepared. of the 271 data, 270 were collected and used as the final analysis data. Results: The results of this study were as follows: 1) The higher the age and the higher the grade, the higher the perceived job recognition rate of the agencies. (p<.05), respectively. In other occupational awareness surveys, there was no significant difference in gender, age, and grade (p>.05). 2) In the preference survey, men preferred orthopedic physical therapy and female preferred neurological physical therapy. The preference for the desired institution after graduation was highest for general hospitals by gender, age, and grade. Conclusion: In conclusion, the higher the age and grade, the higher was the physical therapy profession awareness and overall had a positive perception of physical therapy jobs.

A Study on Moderating Role of Business Incubating Service in Relationship between Entrepreneurs' Characteristics and Business Performance (기업가특성과 기업성과 간의 관계에 대한 창업보육서비스의 조절역할에 관한 연구)

  • This study focuses on examination a) of impacts of entrepreneurs' psychological characteristics on business performance (need fur achievement and risk-taking propensity), b) of impacts of entrepreneur's competency characteristics(vision, opportunity recognition, social deftness, frequency of networking and reliability) on business performance, and c) of controlling impacts of business incubator on the relationship between entrepreneurs' characteristics (psychological characteristics and competency) and business performance. According to a study, among entrepreneurs' psychological characteristics, need for achievement has a significant impact on business performance, whereas risk-taking propensity is found to have no significant impact on business performance. In addition, among entrepreneurs' competency characteristics, vision, social deftness, and network reliability have no impact on business performance, whereas opportunity recognition and frequency of network have an impact on business performance. On the other hand, need for achievement has a negative impact on controlling business incubator services. Business incubator services have a significant impact on the relationship between vision, network reliability and business performance.

  • This study analyzes the social and cultural development process of tourism development in Banjar Nyuh-Kuning, a rural village in Bali, and the cultural practices of residential tourist in this area. The role of Banjar in the development of cultural tourism, especially the process of re-recognition of traditional discourse, became the main impetus for the prosperity of the village. For this purpose, the demands of residential tourists in the village and the role of local residents in their response is discussed. Residential tourist and village community experience the process of acculturation under one space, which provides an opportunity for each group to newly recognize tradition. In the end, the residential tourist in the villages provide an opportunity to reexamine tourism practices the stemmed from the concept of existing objectivism and constructivism authenticity. The perception of the authenticity of residential tourists a part of the ontological awareness resulting from everyday satisfactions and security in the course of experiencing tourism. The process of the development of Nyuh-Kuning village as a tourist attraction may be understood from the viewpoint of as a type of existential authenticity that the residential tourists acquire as they practice village traditions.
