Due to the improvement of science technology, the future tank system will have the multi-function for more powerful firing. and the tank, mounted this multi-function, must be lighter to maintain the mobility. Therefore, new brecoil technology would be necessary to reduce the recoil force for lighter platform. The present study covers a FOOB(Fire-Out0-Of-Battery) system that can reduce the recoil force dramatically. The firing sequence of the FOOB system is radically different from that of a conventional system. The gun is latched in out-of-battery position prior to firing. As soon as firing is occurred, the gun is unlatched and accelerated. The forward momentum is imparted to the recoiling parts. This momentum is opposed by the ballistic force imparted by firing and the recoil force and recoil length will be reduced. In this study, the ADAMS simulation has been performed with the scale model of the FIB(Fire-In-Battery) system and the FOOB system. The ADAMS simulation results show that the FOOB system could reduce the operating time and recoil length and the recoil force.

A major concern at present is the simultaneous control of transverse thickness profile and flatness in the finishing stages of hot rolling process. The mathematical modeling of hot rolling process has long been recognized to be a desirable approach to investigate rolling operating practice and the design of mill equipment to improve productivity and quality. However, many factors make the mathematical analysis of the rolling process very complex and time-consuming. In order to overcome these problems and to obtain an accurate rolling force, the predicted model of rolling force using neural networks has widely been employed. In this paper, Radial Basis Function Network(RBFN) is applied to improve the accuracy of rolling force prediction in hot rolling mill. In order to verify and analyze the performance of applied neural network the comparison with the measured rolling force and the predicted results using two different neural networks-RBFN, MLP, has respectively been carried out. The results obtained using RBFN neural network are much more accurate those obtained the MLP.
This paper presents a control method for the performance improvement of a proportional solenoid actuator using a Pulse Width Modulation (PWM) signal. It is very difficult to obtain excellent response performance from a proportional solenoid actuator using a simple proportional controller with no PWM signal or dither because the mass and structure of a proportional solenoid actuator changes according to the application target, friction force in the proportional solenoid tube, operating force and displacement range. To solve the above problems, first, a controller with a PWM function for experimenting with attraction force characteristics was designed and manufactured. Secondly, an experimental setup for solenoid performance measurement with a force sensor and a displacement sensor was also manufactured. The attraction force characteristics according to the frequency and duty ratio variations of a PWM signal were tested and the relationships among the frequency, duty ratio, plunger mass and friction characteristics were analyzed. Finally, response characteristics improvements for proportional solenoid actuators are discussed.

The power steering hose assembly is usually manufactured through the swaging process, which is conducted to connect a hose with metal fittings. In this process the hose is inserted into metal components, the sleeve and the nipple, and compressed in the radial direction by the jaws to clamp the hose with metal components. In case that the clamping force is small, the oil in the hose can leak locally under the severe operating conditions. To confirm the clamping force requirements, the measurement of separation force in longitudinal direction of the hose is usually performed. In this study, the swaging process of a hose is simulated with the finite element method, to investigate the effect of friction coefficient on the separation fDrce. The results interpretations are ffcused on the inner rubber component, and also a formula is proposed to estimate the separation farces with respect to friction coefficients.

A reaction wheel is commonly used, as an important actuator, to control the attitude of a satellite. Operation of the reaction wheel plays a role of an excitation source to loading equipment inside the satellite. As requirements for environmental vibration to manifest the performance of precision equipment are getting more stringent, the research for analysis or reduction of unwanted action force in high frequency range when operating the reaction wheel is necessary. In this paper, the procedure to extract input forces and damping of a rotor system of reaction wheel is suggested. The analysis for measured action forces of reaction wheel is accomplished and important higher harmonics of action forces are determined. The input forces and damping of the rotor system are, then, extracted by curve-fitting and a particular solution for input force.
Atmospheric corrosion severity associated with aircraft parking environment was studied using metallic specimens, and temperature and humidity sensors installed at each aircraft operating base. Data were analyzed after a year of exposure. Silver was used to measure chloride deposition by integrating X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy depth profiles. Carbon steel was utilized to determine the corrosion rate by measuring the weight loss. The time of wetness was determined using temperature and humidity sensor data. Analysis of variance followed by Tukey's "honestly significant difference" test indicated that atmospheric environment inside the shelter varied significantly from that of unsheltered parking environment. The corrosion rate of unsheltered area also varies with the roof. Hierarchical clustering analysis of the measured data was used to classify air bases into groups with similar atmospheric corrosion. Bases where aircraft park at a shelter can be grouped together regardless of geographical location. Unsheltered bases located inland can also be grouped together with sheltered bases as long as the aircraft are parked under the roof. Environmental severity index was estimated using collected data and validated using the measured corrosion rate.

The present work addresses the challenging problem of coordinating power allocation with interference management in multi-robot networks by applying the promising expansion capabilities of multiple-input multiple-output (MIMO) and full duplex systems, which achieves it for maximizing the throughput of networks under the impacts of Doppler frequency shifts and external jamming. The proposed power allocation with interference coordination formulation accounts for three types of the interference, including cross-tier, co-tier, and mixed-tier interference signals with cluster head nodes operating in different full-duplex modes, and their signal-to-noise-ratios are respectively derived under the impacts of Doppler frequency shifts and external jamming. In addition, various optimization algorithms, including two centralized iterative optimization algorithms and three decentralized optimization algorithms, are applied for solving the complex and non-convex combinatorial optimization problem associated with the power allocation and interference coordination. Simulation results demonstrate that the overall network throughput increases gradually to some degree with increasing numbers of MIMO antennas. In addition, increasing the number of clusters to a certain extent increases the overall network throughput, although internal interference becomes a severe problem for further increases in the number of clusters. Accordingly, applications of multi-robot networks require that a balance should be preserved between robot deployment density and communication capacity.
This study is intend to define learning driving force for learner-centered education and to derive it's components(IDEA : degree of Interest, Dynamics of learning process, degree of self-Effectiveness, expectation level of Academic achievement). To validate the concept of driving force, we analyzed the instructional design techniques, operating procedures, result reports, professor's comments of flipped learning courses which were conducted systematically in K-university during last 4years. As a result, I suggest the directives and guidances required for effective flipped learning based on driving force.
Tidal power generation plays a critical role in reducing greenhouse gas emissions. It uses a tidal force generated by gravitational force between the moon, the earth, and the sun. The change of seawater height generates the tide-generating force, and the magnitude of the change is the tide level. The tide level change has the same period as the tide-generating force twice a day, every 29.5 days, every year, and every 18.6 years. Sihwa Lake Tidal Power Station is Korea's first tidal power plant that began commercial power generation in August 2011 and has been accumulating a large volume of data on electricity production, power generation sales, sluice displacement, and tide levels. The purpose of this paper was to analyze the impact of the inefficiency factors affecting production and the tidal level change on tidal power generation and their characteristics using Sihwa Lake Tidal Power's operational performance data. Throughout this paper we show that tidal power generating operation is accurately predicting the trends of magnitude of tidal force to be periodical for each day. determining the drop to initiate the water turbine generator factoring the constraints on the operation of Sihwa Lake, and reflecting the water discharge through the floodgate and water turbine during the standby mode in the power generation plan to be in the optimal condition until the initiation of the next power generation can maximize power generation.

The EO/IR targeting pod mounted on a fighter to acquire information about tactical targets is typically mounted and operated at the bottom of the aircraft fuselage. Since the aircraft equipped with such an external attachment has complexed aerodynamic and inertial characteristics compared to the aircraft flying without an external attachment, a method of system performance analyses is required to identify development risk factors in the early stages of development and reflect them in the design. In this study, a development plan was presented to provide the necessary modeling and simulation tools to develop a pod that can acquire measurement data stably in a highly maneuverable environment. The limiting operating conditions of the pods mounted on the highly maneuverable aircraft were derived, the aerodynamics and inertial loads of the mounted pods were analyzed according to the limiting operating conditions, and a flight data generation and transmission system were developed by simulating the mission of the aircraft equipped with the mounted pods.
