중고령 종합병원 식당종사자의 근골격계 부담 작업에 대한 위험성 평가 (Risk Assessment in the Loaded Works of Muscular Skeletal Disorder for Mid-old Aged General Hospital Dining Workers)

  • The purpose of this study was to analyze the risk factors of the musculoskeletal workload of mid-old-age food preparation workers by identifying the differences in the complaints of subjective symptoms between mid-old-age housewives and mid-old-age food preparation workers. This study was carried out on a total of 83 subjects from April 2009 through July 2009: 43 food preparation workers at the catering department of general hospital A, with a high rate of mid-old-age food preparation staff, and 40 full-time housewives (40~59 years old). The analysis of the relationship between the rates of the subjective symptoms of the two groups showed that the mid-old-age food preparation workers had a 7.8-fold higher risk of developing musculoskeletal diseases than the full-time housewives. The musculoskeletal workload of the mid-old-age food preparation workers included repetitive motions, uncomfortable postures, and heavy lifting. It is hoped that this study will help provide mid-old-age people with opportunities for appropriate economic activity and labor and will help improve their work postures and methods as well as their environmental-risk factors.

고령자 임금노동시장의 구조와 정책적 시사 (Old Age Workers' Labor Market: A Model for Understanding Its Structure and Policy Implication)

  • 본고는 노동시장 현황에 기초하여 고령자 임금노동시장 분석틀을 제시한다. 그리고 그것이 정책차원에서 시사하는 바를 고령자 노동수요를 진작하는 정책, 노동공급자인 고령자의 의중임금을 낮출 수 있는 기반환경 조성, 그리고 임금노동 시장에서 노동공급을 줄일 수 있는 정책으로 나누어 검토한다. 제반 조세, 사회보험, 퇴직금 등에 적용되는 임금기준을 단순화하기 위한 관련 법령 정비, 제조업 위주로 되어 있는 유인제도들의 서비스업 고령자 고용으로의 확대, 퇴직 고령자를 옛 직장에서 계약직으로 재고용할 때 채용장려금이나 세제상의 유인 부여, 생애숙련형성 과정에서 전문성 강화를 위한 직업능력인증제도 확립 등은 고령자 노동수요를 진작하는 정부차원의 정책 이니셔티브가 될 것이다. 고령자의 의중임금을 낮추기 위해서는 적절한 사회보장제도의 확충과 함께 주택가격의 안정화와 장기안정형 주택상품의 보급, 학자금 장기저리 융자제도, 혼수문화의 정비, 지역탁아시설의 확충 등이 요구된다. 창업지원, 자원봉사, 노후생활설계 원조, 시민운동 및 봉사활동 참여시의 명예심 고양 등으로 비임금노동자 시장이나 비경제활동에서 고령기의 활로를 모색할 수 있도록 유인하는 정책 사고도 필요하다.

중고령 동노자의 노동적응능력의 평가 (Evaluation of labor aptitude of middle-aged and old workers: Evaluation of manual dexterity)

  • In recent years, the average life span of people in advanced countries has increased. Conwequently, the number of middle-aged and old workers who have the will to work has increased. On the other hand, the declining birth rate has decreased the number of young workers. However, because many enterprises in advanced countries have extended their mandatory retirement age from 55 to 60 years, labor accidents involving aged workers are on the increase. As a result, the need for a method to evaluate the work skills of middle-age and old workers has become urgent. To explore one such method, this study investigated the relationship between aging and manual dexterity. Dexterity was found to deteriorate with age, but with large variability from individual to individual. The parameters of dexterity used in this experiment were found to be reliable.

성·연령별 중·고령 노동자의 취업 양극화 분석 (An Analysis of the Polarization of the Middle-aged and Old Worker's Employment by Age and Gender)

  • 본 연구의 목적은 외환위기 직후 경기 침체기와 경기회복기에 따른 성·연령별 중·고령자 취업률의 변동, 그러한 변동의 원인이 무엇인지, 그리고 중·고령자의 취업에 미치는 결정요인들이 성과 연령별에 따라 차이가 나는지를 분석하는 것이다. 이를 위해 한국노동연구원의 1차부터 7차까지의 노동패널조사 자료를 사용하였다. 본 연구의 분석 결과는 경기침체기에 비해 경기회복기에 남녀 모두 모든 연령에서 취업률이 상승하였고 또 연령이 올라감에 따라 남녀 취업률 격차가 감소하는 것을 발견했다. 가정한 바와 같이, 중·고령자의 취업에 미치는 결정요인들은 성과 연령별에 따라 차이가 났다. 예를 들어, 배우자 존재는 남성 취업률에 정적 영향을 여성 취업률에 부적 영향을 미쳤다. 한편, 경제회복기의 취업률 증가에는 경제적 어려움으로 인한 취업자 수의 증가보다 경제적 독립성을 중시하는 개인주의 이데올로기로 인한 취업자 수의 증가가 더 큰 영향을 미쳤다. 외환위기 이후 양극화가 심화되는 상황에서, 경기회복기에 평균 근로소득의 급상승과 경기침체기보다 경기회복기에 개인의 취업이 더 어려워졌다는 사실은 2001년 이후 중·고령 노동자 취업의 양극화가 나타났다는 것을 의미한다. 즉, 빈민 혹은 하층의 중·고령 노동자들은 취업하기가 더 어려워진 반면, 중류층 이상(특히 고소득)의 노동자들은 이전보다 더 늦은 연령까지 취업을 하는 추세가 나타났다. 이러한 중·고령 노동자 취업의 양극화는 남성보다 여성에서 더 분명하게 나타났다.

Occupational Injuries Among Construction Workers by Age and Related Economic Loss: Findings From Ohio Workers' Compensation, USA: 2007-2017

  • Background: This study examined age-group differences in the rate, severity, and cost of injuries among construction workers to support evidence-based worker safety and health interventions in the construction industry. Methods: Ohio workers' compensation claims for construction workers were used to estimate claim rates and costs by age group. We analyzed claims data auto-coded into five event/exposure categories: transportation incidents; slips, trips, and falls (STFs); exposure to harmful substances and environments; contact with objects and equipment (COB); overexertion and bodily reaction. American Community Survey data were used to determine the percentage of workers in each age group. Results: From 2007-2017, among 72,416 accepted injury claims for ~166,000 construction full-time equivalent (FTE) per year, nearly half were caused by COB, followed by STFs (20%) and overexertion (20%). Claim rates related to COB and exposure to harmful substances and environments were highest among those 18-24 years old, with claim rates of 313.5 and 25.9 per 10,000 FTE, respectively. STFs increased with age, with the highest claim rates for those 55-64 years old (94.2 claims per 10,000 FTE). Overexertion claim rates increased and then declined with age, with the highest claim rate for those 35-44 years old (87.3 per 10,000 FTE). While younger workers had higher injury rates, older workers had higher proportions of lost-time claims and higher costs per claim. The total cost per FTE was highest for those 45-54 years old ($1,122 per FTE). Conclusion: The variation in rates of injury types by age suggests that age-specific prevention strategies may be useful.

건설현장 고령근로자의 안전배치 방안에 관한 연구 (Reasonable Assignment of Aged People at Construction Site)

  • "low and old age trend" is a big social national problem in korea but also in foreign countries. The Government pursues a policy for aged people to take part in construction site as labours. Low childbirth and avoidance of 3D work kinds lead to exposure of aged workers to industry work places. According to korea department of labour, it is expected that 18% of total economic activity people in 2008 to 27.2% in 2018 be increased with age of more than 55 old years. Therefore, It is needed that more countermeasures for old workers should be taken for safer work conditions. This old workers with more than 55 old years contain major portion of accident occurrence in construction industry. It is found that accident rate in construction industry can be decreased if appropriate technical safety training is provided to them who wish to work at construction sites. Statistic analysis such as frequency, cross, logistic regression using program package SPSS 13.0 has been made after collecting questionnaire survey of more than 330 workers at construction sites.

A Descriptive Study on the Economic Activities of Middle-aged Adult Wage Workers

  • Adults in their middle age are being held back by their roles through economic activities, but their rapid retirement and job sharing are adding to their anxiety. Also, it is very important to establish welfare policies for the elderly in the future because it can predict the economic situation in the old age through the economic activities of middle-aged adults. My study analyzed the 6th data of Kreis of the National Pension Research Institute's. The number of people studied is 2,552 employed people aged 40 or over 64 across the country. According to the analysis, there were more men than women. There were many high school graduates and 50s. There were many people who had spouses and who lived in the province. Wage workers represented 53.1% of the total. The lower the age, the higher the level of education, the higher the number of wage earners. Only 29% of standard workers and 30.8% of regular workers were employed. There were many economically unstable middle-aged adults. Economic instability in the middle age requires social attention because it can lead to poverty in old age. Therefore, measures should be taken to ensure stable jobs for middle-aged adults, whose spending increases more than their income.

건축현장작업의 Human Factors 적용에 관한 연구 (A Study on the Application of Human Factors in Construction Work)

  • In current domestic construction field, several factors influencing the safety for field workers are various due to the size and complexity of construction works involved. Among the factors, the age is the important one, because the average age of workers is getting older due to the 3D phenomena in construction fields. The safety for workers of all ages is important, but especially safety for the old, is more important. Thus, the fundamental techniques for placement of field workers with adequate safety corresponding to complexity and hard works are investigated through analyzing fatigue and heart rate of individual worker, especially for the old.

한국 장년임금근로자들의 퇴직: 사업체 규모별 위험모형분석 (Retirement of Older Wage Workers in Korea: Hazard Model Analysis by Firm Size)

  • 이 논문은 장년임금근로자들이 기존 일자리를 그만두는 이유와 퇴직위험의 결정요인을 분석하였다. 주된 결과는 다음과 같다. 첫째, 공식적인 정년으로 일자리를 떠나는 장년근로자는 비교적 소수이며 대부분이 대기업 남성근로자들이다. 둘째, 일정수준을 넘는 고임금은 장년근로자의 퇴직위험을 높이며, 이 효과는 주로 대기업 남성근로자에게서 발견된다. 셋째, 관행적인 강제 퇴직은 장년여성근로자의 퇴직을 초래하는 중요한 요인이다. 넷째, 건강의 악화는 장년근로자 퇴직의 가장 중요한 이유로 조사되었으며 이러한 경향은 특히 여성근로자와 소규모사업체 근로자에게 강하게 나타난다. 끝으로, 적정한 근로시간과 높은 근로유연성은 장년근로자의 퇴직위험을 낮추는 요인이다. 논문은 분석결과가 장년고용정책에 대해 갖는 함의를 논의하였다.

직장 남성들의 갱년기 증상 정도와 관련요인 (Related Factors and the Symptoms of Menopause in Male Workers)

  • Objective: To find the related factors and the symptoms of menopause in male workers. Method: This Study is targeted on 369 people(40's; 219, 50's; 150) who are married and being 40 years old or more with working for over ten year. Results: First, the symptom of menopause in proportion to age is, 40's appeared in order of 'Decrease in ability to play sport', and 50's appeared in order of 'Less strong erection'. Second, the symptom of menopause was higher from the difference between general characteristic and work characteristic when people have old age. Third, the symptom of menopause was lower from difference among life habits when people do some exercises regularly, and no overeating. Fourth, the symptom of menopause was much lower from the difference of subjective health state when people feel comfort without any disturbance to their daily life, as they feel much younger than their ages, and feel healthy. Fifth, the variables affected to the symptom of menopause were age, do exercise whether or not, subjective health state when people feel much younger than their ages, and feel healthy. Conclusion: the symptom of menopause is not only for women but also for men. And it is not only for people who are old but we could find some abilities from young ages, too.
