Onycholysis is defined as a distal or distal lateral separation of the nail plate from the underlying or lateral supporting structures including nail bed, hyponychium, and lateral nail fold. Trauma, infection, psoriasis, thyrotoxicosis, and numerous drugs are common causes of onycholysis. However, there are few specific data on nail findings in Behcet's disease (BD). In this paper, we report on a 60-year-old man with BD, with no past history except BD, who developed recurrent onycholysis. The symptoms of onycholysis are considered to be recurrent depending on the activity of BD. The nail lesion showed improvement after classic treatment of BD and topical steroid ointment.

Mucoepidermoid carcinoma (MEC) is the most common type of malignant neoplasm in the minor salivary gland. The hard palate is a frequently involved site of MEC. The treatment of low-grade MEC on the hard palate is wide local resection with a tumor-free margin. In the present case, the maxillary defect was reconstructed using a buccal fat pad (BFP) flap, followed by application of 4-hexylresorcinol (4HR) ointment for 2 weeks. The grafted BFP successfully covered the tumor resection defect without tension and demonstrated complete re-epithelialization without any complications.

Purpose : To observe effects of TKM (Traditional Korean Medicine) treatment for 2 patients who had verruca plana after having laser epilation of leg hair. Methods : We did retrospective chart review for 2 verucca plana patients who had been treated by TKM. TKM treatment included herbal treatment, herbal acupuncture and herbal ointment. Results : After TKM treatment, the patients' verucca plana remarkably disappeared and there was no recurrence. Conclusion : This study suggest that TKM may be an effective treatment for verucca plana.

Objective : This study is designed to investigate the effect of Oriental medical therapy on psoriasis. Methods : We applied Aroma ointment to abnormal skin two times a day. For herbal medicine, Bangpungtongsungsan-gami was given. We checked involvement in scaly skin, erythematosus papules and infiltration according to psoriasis area and severity(PASI) Results : After treatment, the patient showed that itching symptoms was disappeared and score of PASI changed from 27 to 0.8 Conclusions : According to the result, Oriental medical therapy and Aroma therapy has a good effect on psoriasis. But further studies are required to definitely prove the effectiveness of Aroma therapy

The lateral hoof of right hind limb of a pregnant Masai giraffe was accidentally injured, and its coronet, hoof wall, and sole were detached in a mass. The bleeding was observed from the exposed dermis of the affected foot for several hours, with second scoreof supporting lameness. The bleeding from the digital artery at the exposed dermis was stopped by epinephrine spray and direct pressing. Nitrofurazone ointment was topocally applied for 5 days and sxytetracycline solusion was delivered by a fluid jet in the affected hoof one month. The calf was born 5 months after the avulsion. The horn of the hoof wall was grown from the coronet to sole, and was gradually filled from the heel to the toe. The growth rate and filling rate of the hoof wall were 0.32mm and 0.54mm a day, respectively.

Computer optimization technique was applied to obtain the optimum formula of o/w type ointment vehicle containing sodium lauryl sulfate and 1-methyl-2-pyrrolidinone (MP). In order to determine the feasibility of optimizing a vehicle composition with the aid of computer, the amounts of sodium lauryl sulfate $(X_1)$, salicylic acid $(X_2)$, and MP $(X_3)$ were selected as the independent variables for the solubility and the absorption rates of salicylic acid (dependent variables). The experimental values of absorption rates agreed well with the calculation values obtained from the polynomial regression analysis, and the contour charts drawn by computer were useful in optimization process.

Graft-versus-host disease (GVHD) is frequent complications of hematopoietic stem cell transplantation. In the chronic GVHD (cGVHD), the oral cavity is the most commonly affected region. The clinical manifestations include erythema, ulceration, lichenoid-hyperkeratotic change in oral mucosa, dry mouth, and limitation of mouth opening. The initial treatment strategy of oral cGVHD patients is topical corticosteroid therapy in various formulation. However, corticosteroid resistance appears in some patients. We report a case of a 25-year-old male patient with oral cGVHD, who has resistance to topical corticosteroid medication, treated with 0.03% tacrolimus ointment and low-dose doxycycline. The patient showed subjective and objective improvement without side effect.

Objectives : The purpose of this study is to report the effectiveness of using korean medical treatment on ulcer occurred in Anus and Vulva. Methods : We treated the patient with Taglisodog-eum(托裏消毒飮), acupuncture, and korean medical treatment using herb such as ointment and fumigation therapy. VAS score, Photographs were used to evaluate the effects of treatment. Results : After the total treatments, VAS score decreased from 7 to 1. In this case, we treated ulcer and checked regeneration of new tissue. Conclusions : The result suggests that Korean medical treatment including Taglisodog-eum(托裏消毒飮) can be effective in treatingulcer.

Objective : The patient presented with a week history of orange-eryhtematous follicular hyperkeratotic papules in facial and skull part.Methods : Korean medicinePalMul-tang八物湯 was used and Aroma ointment and Retinoid lotion were used together.Results : After 6 months therapy, she experienced remarkable improvement of symptoms.Conclusions : Pityriasis Rubra Pilaris (PRP) is belong to 'Pityriasis Rubra Pilaris (PRP) is belong to 'Honyoja狐尿刺'in Korean medicine, and we can expect a relatively good treatment effect.

The paper is to report a case of zinc-deficient parakeratotic hyperkeratosis in a dog. In this dermatosis, although an available diagnosis of zinc-deficient dermatosis is to analyse the serum or hair zinc Bevels, exact analysis of zinc is difficult and unreliable due to contamination of zinc by various environmental, physiologic and disease-related factors. Diagnosis may be performed by history, physical examination and blood chemical analysis. Laboratory evaluation revealed hypercholesterolemia and low activities of serum alkaline photophatase and total protein. The dog showed thick crusts at the elbows joint, stifle joint and testis. Zinc sulfate is administered per oral to patient with application of salicylic acid added vaseline ointment on hyperkaratic lesions. The dog is successfully cured.
