유조선의 최적 운항일정계획 (An optimization of crude oil tanker scheduling problems)

  • This paper presents an efficient optimization algorithm for the crude oil tanker scheduling problem. The algorithm consists of two stages. In stage one, all the potentially optimal schedules (called 'candidate schedules') are generated from feasible schedules for each ship. In the second stage, a multiple ship scheduling problem is formulated as 0-1 integer programming problem considering only the those candidate schedules. The efficiency of the suggested algorithm was improved by exploiting the special structure of the formulation. The algorithm was illustrated by a numerical example and tested on practical ship scheduling problems.

  • 본 연구에서는 유조선 공법의 유체역학적 타당성을 검증하고자 한다. EDISON_CFD를 이용하여 간단화한 서산 간월호의 간척 이전 모습을 모델링하였다. 방조제 모델에서의 난류 유동을 방조제 사이에서의 유속과 사이에서 받는 압력의 분포를 통해 유조선 공법이 실제로 방조제 건설에 도움이 될 수 있는지에 대해 평가했다.

  • The transportation of oil has increased due to the growth of marine industries and oil refineries. Oil residues and waste discharged to the ocean has increased due to accidental and/or intentional discharges. The International Marine Organization(IMO) has made compulsory that every oil tanker of 150 gross tonnage and above and every ship of 400 gross tonnages other than tankers and above should be provided with an oil record book. The entries in the oil record book should be made in accordance with the IMO guidelines. Specifically, engine room generated oil residues should be recorded in the oil record book from January 1, 2011. Also, the developed IMO guideline should be added for the prevention of dispute with the Port State Control Officers and(or) Tanker Vetting Inspectors. This oil record book will be in operation and of valued assistance to the marine officers, according to the IMO policy for the prevention of the waste oil and the oil mixtures from the machinery space. Design Conditions for Dolphin Berth by Tanker Fleet Analysis

  • Energy acquisition due to the increase of oil price is one of the most important issues and policy for most countries. Various tankers have been built in the world and sent to the trade market. It is necessary to build the port infrastructure and facilities to give them proper services such as mooring, packing, storing, and transshipment, etc. However, the domestic guidelines or standards for design and construction for the dolphin berth among these facilities are out of date and do not meet the recent trend of tanker types. Therefore, it requires amendment on the guidelines or standards. In this study, a detailed analysis of the tanker fleet, covering 8,000 ships under operation and order to build, is made to estimate the proper PBL(Parallel Body Length) of each tanker class. After discussion and comparison on the dolphin berth design and construction codes of various countries, those are the leading countries of tanker operation and management, suggestion was made to amend on the design code. The referred codes are of Korea, Japan, UK, USA, and Canada. The analysis of tanker fleet shows the PBL as 0.45L under the normal ballast condition. In order to verify the deduced amendment on the domestic design code for dolphin berth, it was selected one of the domestic dolphin berth, located at the Yeosu oil terminal, which is almost completed to construct. The design criteria and expected tankers to moor in that terminal were analyzed and the appropriateness and countermeasure for deficiency were summarized.

  • Nowadays, optimum structural design techniques based on CSR have been developed and applied to the preliminary design stage focused on minimum weight and minimum construction cost of ship structure. Optimum structural design algorithm developed before could minimize weight and cost on fixed compartment arrangement. However, to develop more efficient design technique, a designer needs to combine optimized compartment arrangement with optimized ship structural design because compartment arrangement has a large effect on structural design according to the change of still water bending moment as a consequence of compartment arrangement change. In this study, automated algorithm for compartment arrangement of an oil tanker is developed to apply preliminary structural design. The usefulness of developed algorithm is verified with Aframax oil tanker constructed by STX shipbuilding Co.Ltd..

  • Recently, the importance of multi-objective optimization techniques and stochastic search methods is increasing. The stochastic search methods have the concepts of the survival of the fittest and natural selection such as genetic algorithms(GA), simulated annealing(SA) and evolution strategies (ES). As many accidents of oil tankers cause marine pollution, oil tankers of double hull or mid deck structure are being built to minimize the marine pollution. For the improvement of oil tanker design technique, an efficient optimization technique is proposed in this study. Multi-objective optimization problem of weight and cost of double hull and mid deck tanker is formulated. Discrete design variables are used considering real manufacturing, and the concept of relative production cost is also introduced. The ES method is used as an optimization technique, and the ES algorithm was developed to generate a more efficient Pareto optimal set.

  • This paper discusses the various modes of operations of cargo ships which are liner operations, tramp shipping and industrial operations, and mathematical programming, simulation , and heuristic method that can be used to solve ships routing and scheduling problems for each of these operations. In particular, this paper put emphasis on a crude oil tanker scheduling problem. The problem is to achieve an optimal sequence of cargoes or an optimal schedule for each ship in a given fleet during a given period. Each cargo is characterized by its type, size, loading and discharging ports, loading and discharging dates, cost, and revenue. Our approach is to enumerate all feasible candidate schedate schedules for each ship, where a candidate schedule specifies a set of cargoes that can be feasibly carried by a ship within the planning horizon , together with loading and discharging dates for each cargo in the set. Provided that candidate schedules have been generated for each ship, the problem of choosing from these an optimal schedule for each ship is formulated as a set partitioning problem, a set packing problem, and a integer generalized network problem respectively. We write the PASCAL programs for schedule generator and apply our approach to the crude oil tanker scheduling problem similar to a realistic system.

침몰 유조선 경신호의 추가 해양오염 가능성에 관한 연구 (Analysis of the risk of further oil spill from Sunken lanker, 'Kyung-Shin')

  • 본 논문은 1988년 2원에 포항 앞바다에서 침몰한 총톤수 995톤의 유조선 경신호에 대한 수중 조사 작업과 그 결과를 다루고 있다. 조사는 경신호에 의한 추가 해양오염가능성을 파악하기 위하여 2001년 9원에 약 10일간의 일정으로 수행되었으며 첨단 해양조사장비인 ROV와 유인잠수정, 초음파 투께 계측장치 등을 이용하여 선체상태와 기름의 유출상황, 선체외판의 부식상태 통을 조사하였다. 조사 결과, 선체에서 계속적으로 소량의 기름이 유출되고 있는 것으로 확인되었으며 선체의 부식 상태 조사를 위해 선체의 일부에서 선체 두께 측정이 이루어졌다. 조사 결과와 기존 사고 보고서의 내용을 바탕으로 잔존유의 양을 추정하였을 때, 조사당시 선체에는 약 600㎘의 기금이 잔존하고 있는 것으로 추정되었으며 향후 선체외판의 부식으로 인해 잔존유가 추가 유출될 가능성이 있는 것으로 판단되었다 이와 함께 유출유 확산 예측시뮬레이션을 통해 특정한 기상상태에서는 유출된 기름이 주변해역을 오염시킬 수 있는 가능성을 확인하였다.

Effect of corrosion on the ultimate strength of double hull oil tankers - Part II: hull girders

  • Numerous oil tanker losses have been reported and one of the possible causes of such casualties is caused by the structural failure of aging ship hulls in rough weather. In aging ships, corrosion and fatigue cracks are the two most important factors affecting structural safety and integrity. This research is about effect on hull girder ultimate strength behavior of double hull oil tanker according to corrosion after Part I: stiffened panel. Based on corrosion data of Part I (time-dependent corrosion wastage model and CSR corrosion model), when progressing corrosion of fourtypes of double hull oil tankers (VLCC, Suezmax, Aframax, and Panamax), the ultimate strength behavior of hull girder is compared and analyzed. In case of the ultimate strength behavior of hull girder, when occurring corrosion, the result under vertical and horizontal bending moment is analyzed. The effect of time-dependent corrosion wastage on the ultimate hull girder strength as well as the area, section modulus, and moment of inertia are also studied. The result of this research will be useful data to evaluate ultimate hull girder strength of corroded double hull oil tanker.
