키네시오 테이핑 자가적용 교육이 만성요통 성인 여성들의 통증, 만족도 및 보행에 미치는 영향 (Effects of the Education about the Self-application of the Kinesio-Taping for the Adult Women with Chronic Low Back Pain on Pain, Satisfaction and Gait)

  • 본 연구는 일상생활에서 스스로 자신의 통증을 관리할 수 있도록 키네시오 테이핑 자가적용 교육을 적용하여 만성요통 여성들을 대상으로 통증과 만족도 및 보행에 미치는 영향을 분석하고자 하였으며, 키네시오 테이핑 자가적용에 대한 기초자료를 제공하고자 수행되었다. 연구대상자는 만성요통 여성 30명이며, 키네시오 테이핑 적용을 2주간 실시한 후 자가적용 교육에 따른 자가적용을 4주간 실시하였다. 대상자들의 통증 평가는 Visual Analog Scale (VAS)을 활용하였으며, 만족도의 분석은 Canadian Occupational Performance Measure (COPM)를 활용하였다. 또한, 보행의 분석은 Walkway MG-1000 보행분석기를 활용하여 Stride length, Step length, Step width and Gait time을 분석하였다. 그 결과 테이핑 적용에 따라 통계적으로 유의미한 통증의 감소와 만족도의 증가, 보행 능력의 증가가 지속적으로 나타남을 확인할 수 있었다. 또한, 대비검정 분석결과 처치 내 효과검증에서 통증, 만족도 및 보행 분석결과 에서 (처치 전과 테이핑 적용 2주 후) 통계적인 유의미한 차이가 나타났으며, Step width와 만족도 분석결과에서 (처치 전과 테이핑 적용 2주 후)와 (자가적용교육에 따른 자가적용 4주 후) 통계적으로 유의미한 차이가 나타났다. 자기관리능력의 향상은 만성통증 환자들에게 필수적이며, 일상생활에서 스스로 관리하여 적용할 수 있어야 한다. 따라서, 적극적이고 지속적인 통증관리를 위한 자기관리능력의 향상을 위해 키네시오 테이핑 자가적용 교육의 적용을 고려해야 할 것이다.

가락시장 근로자의 병증과 한의학적 치료에 대한 예비 분석 (Analysis on Ga-Rak market workers' disease and treatment of Traditional Korean Medicine(TKM) (pilot study))

  • Objective : To broaden our understanding on occupational disease of market workers and to evaluate the effect of TKM treatment focusing on acupuncture and herb medicine and to promote base studies and clinical trials on occupational disease. Materials and Methods : Analysis was done on 33 Ga-Rak market workers' chart which had been selected through investigation of 1508 outpatient's chart of Kyung Won University Hospital from Jun. 1st, 2002 to May. 31th, 2003. Results : 1. Out of 33 patients, Men had more occupational diseases than women had and Most people were in their forties. 2. Major cause of the disease include repetitve bending, heavy weight lifting and overwork. 3. Past History of patients mostly include frequent lumbar sprain, periarthritis of shoulder, lumbar HNP 4. The patients with occupational disease were diagnosed as lumbar sprain, periarthritis of shoulder, lumbar HNP, degenerative spondylosis, spinal stenosis and their chief complaints were low back pain, omalgia, back pain with radicular pain. 5. The duration of treatment was mostly within a week. 6. Acupuncture, Bee Venom Acupuncture, moxibustion, Herb-medicine, extract, taping therapy, physical therapy were used as treatment methods. 7. Applied herb medicine were composed of 8 kinds of prescriptions and extract were made up of 6 prescriptions 8. Applied acupoints belonged mainly to 14 meridians 9. The treatment of herb medicine combined with acupuncture proved effective in treating the ocupational disease. Conclusion : The occupational disease of patients working in Ga-Rak market were closely related with overwork, especially with repetitive bending and heavy weight lifting and TKM treatment focusing on acupuncture combined with herb medicine was effective in treating occupational disease.

  • 본 연구는 키네시오 테이핑 자가 적용 교육 프로그램의 참여를 통해 만성요통환자들의 통증관리 인식과 건강관련 삶의 질의 변화를 알아보는 데 목적이 있다. 본 연구의 대상은 만성요통환자 30명이며, 실험군(n=15)과 대조군(n=15)으로 구분하였다. 실험군은 키네시오 테이핑 자가적용 교육을 적용하였으며, 대조군은 치료사에 의한 테이핑 처리를 적용하였다. 이에 따라, 통증관리 인식의 변화를 분석하기 위해 캐나다작업수행측정 도구를 활용하여 대상자들의 수행도와 만족도의 변화를 측정하였다. 건강관련 삶의 질의 변화를 분석하기 위해서 간이 건강상태 조사 설문지 Short term-8 health survey(SF-8)을 활용하여, 전반적 건강상태, 신체적 기능, 신체적 역할, 신체 통증, 활력, 사회적 기능, 정신건강, 정서적 역할의 변화를 측정하였다. 통증관리 인식의 분석결과 실험군의 수행도 만족도가 통계적으로 유의미하게 향상되었으며, 사후 검사에서 집단간 차이가 나타났다. 건강관련 삶의 질의 분석결과 실험군의 전반적 건강상태, 신체적 기능, 신체적 역할, 신체 통증, 활력, 사회적 기능, 정신건강, 정서적 역할이 통계적으로 유의미하게 향상되었으며, 사후 검사에서 집단간 차이가 나타났다. 키네시오 테이핑 자가적용 교육 프로그램은 일상생활에서 통증을 관리하여 건가관련 삶의 질을 향상시키는데 의미 있는 방법이다. 따라서, 카네시오 테이핑 자가적용 교육 프로그램을 만성요통환자들에게 고려해야 할 것이다.

  • 산업재해성 요부손상 환자의 심리적 증상은 산업재해성 비요추 환자에 비하여 신체화 증상, 우울, 공포증, 정신증의 항목에서 통계학적으로 유의하게 높은 점수를 나타냈고, 직업과 관련없이 발생되어 의료보험으로 치료를 받는 비산업재해성 요부손상 환자에 비하여 신체화 증상, 우울, 불안, 편집증, 정신증의 항목에서 통계학적으로 유의하게 높은 점수를 나타냈다. 산업재해성 요부손상 환자의 심리적 증상은 휴직 기간과, 작업복귀 여부, 그리고 이 둘의 교호 작용이 유의한 설명력을 가지는데, 휴직 기간이 길수록 또 현재 작업에 복귀하고 있지 않았을 경우에 심리적 증상은 더 높은 점수를 나타내었다. 산업재해성 요부손상 환자에서 사회심리적 증상은 질병의 발생과 그것의 만성화에 따라 심화되며, 조기 작업복귀를 포함한 다차원적이고 포괄적인 재활 치료가 산업재해성 요부손상 환자의 관리에 성공적일 수 있을 것으로 생각된다.

수술실간호사의 건강위험요인 (Health Risk Factors of Nurses in the Operating Room)

  • In order to investigate and compare the health risk factors of nurses in the operating room(OR nurse) and ward (WARD nurse), the questionnaire survey for subjective symptoms was carried out on 553 nurses(132 OR nurses and 421 WARD nurses) who were employed at seven hospital. The self-administered questionnaries were composed of low back pain, subjective fatigue symptoms, musculo-skeletal symptoms, psychological stress and reproductive function. The results were as follows : 1. In the type of working posture and working environment, there were significant difference between two groups for working posture, waist form, height of working table, satisfaction of chair, lifting & carring. 2. Job satisfaction, duration of work, height of working table, satisfaction of chair, lifting & carring were significantly associated the low back pain. 3. In the complaints of subjective fatigue symptoms, the total mean score was higher in OR nurse than WARD nurse, but there was not significant. The items that the mean score of OR nurse was significantly higher than WARD nurse were 'head feels muddled', 'apt to forget', 'feel choky'. 4. In the complaints of musculo-skeletal syrrptoms, the total mean score was higher in OR nurse than WARD nurse, but there was not significant. The item that the mean score of OR nurse was significantly higher WARD nurse was 'wrist discomfort or pain'. 5. The comparison of spontatenous abortion in married nurses who had the experience of pregnancy were significantly associated the stress risk group. 6. In all of OR and Ward nurses, the job satisfaction is associated with subjective fatigue symptoms, musculo-skeletal symptoms, and stress. In conclusion, it suggested that working posture, working environment, stress, and job satisfaction were health risk factors of nurses working in the operating room. Further prospective intervention studies should be conducted to educate right working posture, improve of working environment, decrease of stress, and increase of job satisfaction.

  • This research delves into the evolving interplay between occupational diseases, work-related illnesses, and accidents in the construction industry, focusing on the past twenty years. One significant discovery is the 19-fold escalation in reported occupational diseases, prompting an examination of their root causes and connections to workplace environments. Frequently encountered work-related ailments include physically strenuous tasks, low back pain, and cerebrovascular issues, highlighting the need for robust prevention and management approaches. Predominantly, noise-induced hearing loss and pneumoconiosis are the most common occupational diseases. The study unveils notable correlations between specific work-related illnesses and accidents, indicating the necessity for bespoke safety measures. Additionally, a pronounced association between work-related illnesses and occupational diseases offers insights into underlying risk factors. Remarkably, the findings propose a bidirectional link between occupational diseases and accidents, challenging traditional beliefs about causality. These insights are pivotal for enhancing safety protocols, focusing on preventive measures, and foreseeing occupational diseases that may arise following accidents in the construction industry.

A Study for Musculoskeletal Disorders of Assembly Line Workers

  • Musculoskeletal Disorders are usually caused or aggravated by poor work processes and unsuitable working conditions - that involve repetitive or forceful movements or the maintenance of constrained or awkward postures. The condition is characterized by discomfort and persistent pain. Case and Demographic Characteristics for Work-related Injuries and Illnesses Involving Days Away From Work, 2003. U.S" was examined. Causes of musculoskeletal disorders for assembly line workers were carpal tunnel syndrome(CTS), tendonitis, low back pain, and occupational stress. Recommendations of improvement for productivity are redesign of working conditions, exercise, prevent of musculoskeletal disorders and avoiding stress.

가상현실 운동프로그램에 따른 산업체 만성요통환자의 신체기능과 건강관련 삶의 질의 변화 (Physical Functions of Industrial Workers with Chronic Low Back Pain and Changes in Health-related Quality of Life according to Virtual Reality Exercise Program)

  • 본 연구는 산업체 만성요통환자의 자가요통관리를 위하여 가상현실 운동프로그램을 실시하고 산업체 만성요통관련 신체기능 및 건강관련 삶의 질을 측정하여 분석하였다. 대상자는 K산업체 만성요통환자 30명으로 Nintendo Wii Sports군(실험군) 15명, 일반 물리치료군(대조군)15명으로 구성되었으며, 신체기능은 배근력, 유연성, 균형능력, 통증으로 측정하였고, 건강관련 삶의 질은 SF-36을 측정하여 운동 전과 운동 후, 군간을 비교분석하였다. 집단 내 운동 전 후의 차이를 비교하기 위하여 대응표본 t-검정을 사용하였고, 집단간의 차이를 비교하기 위하여 독립표본 t-검정을 실시하였다. 실험결과 균형능력과 통증에서 두군 모두 통계학적으로 유의하게 개선된 것으로 나타났으며, 군간 비교에서는 Nintendo Wii Sports군이 일반물리치료군에 비해 통계학적으로 유의하게 향상된 것으로 나타났다. 또한 건강관련 삶의 질은 Nintendo Wii Sports군에서만 통계학적으로 유의하게 향상된 것으로 나타났다. 결론적으로 가상현실운동프로그램이 산업체 만성요통환자의 요통에 긍정적인 영향을 미쳐 요통관리를 위한 재가운동 프로그램으로 고려되어야 할 것으로 사료된다.

An Implementation of Workload Measurement by Lifting Index

  • Many risk factors with the onset of Low Back Pain(LBP) have been identified, however, lifting out of Manual Material Handling(MMH) was the most important factor to the LBP. Injuries due to lifting took account for 34.0%(227,291) out of the total overexertion in MMH(668,084). The weight, vertical location, twist angle, lifting frequency, and lifting posture were reviewed in this study. Technical information for using the revised lifting equation to evaluate a variety of two - handled manual material handling tasks was suggested. To measure worker's fatigue in lifting task, Lifting Index Simulator(LIS) was create under the revised NIOSH(National Institute for Occupational Safety and Health) lifting equation. For the implementation of the LIS, data was collected in A company manufactures various paints in Si-Wha industrial complex, Kyunggi-Do. The results of the Lifting Index(LI) were analyzed by MANOVA to find the relation with lifting variables collected. It was found that horizontal distance, vertical distance, travelling distance and frequency were significant at the 0.01 level and weight was significant at the 0.05 level. The purpose of this paper is to reduce the chronical low back pain for the manual material handlers.

중량물 들기 작업시 물체 무게중심 및 발의 위치가 허리 근육의 최대 EMG 진폭에 미치는 영향 (Effects of Load Center of Gravity and Feet Positions on Peak EMG Amplitude at Low Back Muscles While Lifting Heavy Materials)

  • Objectives: This study's aims were to evaluate the effects of load center of gravity within an object lifted and feet placements on peak EMG amplitude acting on bilateral low back muscle groups, and to suggest adequate foot strategies with an aim to reducing low back pain incidence while lifting asymmetric load. Methods: The hypotheses that asymmetric load imposes more peak EMG amplitude on low back muscles contralateral to load center of gravity than symmetric load and maximum peak EMG amplitude out of bilateral ones can be relieved by locating one foot close to load center of gravity in front of the other were established based on biomechanics including safety margin model and previous researches. 11 male subjects were required to lift symmetrically a 15.8kg object during 2sec according to each conditions; symmetric load-parallel feet (SP), asymmetric load-parallel feet (AP), asymmetric load-one foot contralateral to load center of gravity in front of the other (AL), and asymmetric load-one foot ipsilateral to load center of gravity in front of the other (AR). Bilateral longissimus, iliocostalis, and multifidus on right and left low back area were selected as target muscles, and asymmetric load had load center of gravity 10cm deviated to the right from the center in the frontal plane. Results: Greater peak EMG amplitude in left muscle group than in right one was observed due to the effect of load center of gravity, and mean peak EMG amplitudes on both sides was not affected by load center of gravity because of EMG balancing effect. However, the difference of peak EMG amplitudes between both sides was significantly affected by it. Maximum peak EMG amplitude out of both sides and the difference of peak EMG amplitude between both sides could be reduced with keeping one foot ipsilateral to load center of gravity in front of the other while lifting asymmetric load. Conclusions: It was likely that asymmetric load lead to the elevated incidence of low back pain in comparison with symmetric load based on maximum peak EMG amplitude occurrence and greater imbalanced peak EMG amplitude between both sides. Changing feet positions according to the location of load center of gravity was suggested as one intervention able to reduce the low back pain incidence.
