  • Objectives : The purpose of this paper is to identify the pathological situation of the Yangweimai and the Yinweimai in the three pulse positions of Cun-Guan-Chi, which is the case of using the Qikoujiudaomai diagnostic method to find pathological situations in the Eight Extra Meridians. The correlating pulse taking positions were nine, a three dimensional concept that searches the pulse pattern in diagnosis. Methods : Relevant contents in classical texts such as the Maijing(『脈經』), Qijingbamaikao(『奇經八脈考』) Zabingyuanliuxizhu(『雜病源流犀燭』) Maiyijianmo(『脉義簡摩』) were examined, along with previous studies on the topic. Results & Conclusions : Once the pathological Qi overflows in the 12 Meridians, illness happens in the Eight Extra Meridians. In terms of Qikoujiudaomai, the position to diagnosis Yangweimai and the Yinweimai is oblique pulsation at Cheok and Chon by change to bottom position or surface position in the Qikoujiudaomai Diagnostic Method. Based on the oblique pulse diagnostic method of the Qikoujiudaomai, a more accurate approach to treating illness in the Yangweimai and Yinweimai by means of acupuncture and medicinals is possible.
