창조 일자리 분류체계 및 추세분석 (Classifying and Analyzing the Creative Employment in Korea)

  • The objective of this study is developing a classification scheme of the creative employment and analyzing trends of the creative employment in Korea. Many countries have pursued the creative economy to generate new jobs and tried to estimate the creative employment as a way to measure the creative economy. However, the definition of the creative employment is still ambiguous partly because it depends on the characteristics of diverse industries and the direction of economic policies that each country has. Therefore, we propose a classification scheme of the creative employment, which reflects the creative economy in Korea. Then, we examine how the creative employment changes in Korea. Our results show that the jobs requiring the highest level of creative skills increase stably and steadily over the years.

저장방식별 외부 임차공간을 고려한 창고 저장용량 (Warehouse Storage Capacity with Leased Space for Different Storage Policies)

  • In this paper, an approach is presented for determining the required storage capacity of a warehouse with leased public space. Storage assignment policies considered are randomized and class-based storage assignment policies. An analytic model for each of the storage policies is formulated with the objective of minimizing the cost of owned storage space and leased space while satisfying a desired service level of protection against space shortages. Cost functions used in the models are piecewise liear with fixed costs. For the models, algorithms are developed to generate optimal solutions. The approach is applied to the systems where the standard economic-order-quantity inventory model is used for all items being stored in the warehouse.

The need for upgrading the seismic performance objectives

  • The economic consequences of large earthquakes require a revolutionary change in the seismic performance objective of residential and commercial buildings. The majority of total construction costs consist of non-structural and architectural costs. Therefore, the aim of this research is to upgrade current Life Safety performance objectives and to offset adverse effects on country's economy after an occurrence of large earthquakes. However, such a proposal cannot easily prove the feasibility of cost-benefit analysis in structural design. In this paper, six generic reinforced concrete frames and dual system structures designed based on Turkish Seismic Code were used in cost analysis. The study reveals that load bearing structural systems with Immediate Occupancy performance level in seismic zones can be achieved with negligible costs.

국내외 관광열차 운영동향에 관한 연구 (A study on the sightseeing train operation trend at home and abroad)

  • With the advent of 21st century, the economic and cultural value of the tourism became more important than ever. And many countries have been aware of the importance of it and trying to promote it. In the railway industry, the sightseeing train is the most crucial element. It can be used as a means of transportation for the tourism or can be the objective of the tourism itself. The sightseeing train can contribute to improve the level of the national leisure life, to fill the cultural gap among the regions, to make foreign exchanges, or to accelerate cultural exchanges among countries. So, I would like to present some guidelines on the development of the sightseeing train through the research on the sorts, the designs and the services of the sightseeing trains operated in Korea or other countries.

  • Recent construction activities and maintenance of marine facilities have been accelerating to keep up with rapid economic growth in Korea. Marine concrete structures are exposed to salts an chloride from ocean environments. The corrosion of reinforcement steel caused by chloride-penetration into concrete may severely effect the durability of concrete structures. The objective of this research is to develop a durable concrete by investigating the corrosion resistance of various corrosion protection systems utilizing different water/cement ratio, silica fumes, corrosion inhibitors and etc. A tow-year verification test on various corrosion protection systems has been doing in the laboratory and at the seaside. Corrosion investigations on reinforcement steel are now under progress for more than 180 concrete specimen. Corrosion-related measurements include macrocell corrosion current, instant-off voltage between corroding and noncorroding reinforcement, chloride contents, the corroded surface areas on the reinforcement steel, and etc. A low level of corrosion is investigated on reinforcement steels in concrete specimen made with corrosion inhibitors or applied aqueous impregnating corrosion inhibitors into their surface, even though high chloride contents of concrete specimen.

  • Various problems on logistics systems have been dealt with recently as research issues since they were regarded critical for taking up a better position in the increasingly competitive global market. In particular, the freight transportation is considered as a key factor which affects the economic competitiveness of a whole nation as well as the production cost of individual companies. The objective of this study is to identify main issues and review recent foreign and domestic studies related to the freight transportation. The studies are classified into two categories according to the hierarchical level in the decision making process: infra structure design and transportation strategies, service design and operation. Main issues are introduced with a brief review on the related literature and methodologies applied.

  • With the aid of advanced structural engineering, the construction of infrastructures has been recently accelerating to keep up with rapid economic growth. Construction activities and operation of transportation facilities cause civil petitions associated with vibration-induced damages or nuisances. As part of the decrease of vibration induced damage, the objective of this study is to develop vibration-controlled concrete with vibration-reduced materials, which can be recycled from obsolete materials, such as aged tires, plastics and etc. Appropriate mix proportion has been used for making 10 reinforced concrete panels with vibration-reduced materials, which have been tested to investigate on vibration reduction capability, based on the time and frequency domain analysis, and vibration velocity level analysis. Vibration-reduced mixtures are latex, styrofoam, rubber powder and plastic resin, which have been determined to by reduce vibration.

  • Recently, the construction of infrastructures has been booming and accelerating to keep up with rapid economic growth. Construction activities and operation of transportation facilities cause unfavorable effects such as civil petitions associated with vibration-induced damages or nuisances. The objective of this study is to develop vibration-controlled concrete using various vibration-controlling materials , and also to investigate dynamic properties of concrete beam depending on damage level. Vibration-controlled mixtures are latex, rubber powder and plastic resin, which have been determines to by and large reduce vibration. KS F2437 has been used to figure out 1st natural frequency and dynamic flexural rigidity. Dynamic damping rations have been, computed by adopting the polynomial curvefitting method on the frequency spectrum curve, of which results have been compared and analyzed hereon

Developing an Evaluation Tool of RFID-based Traceability Systems

  • Recently, traceability systems are introduced as a new food safety information system. To trace food products efficiently, they must have an automatic identification capability at the individual product level. This capability can be gained through RFID technology. But there is not yet any performance evaluation tool on RFID-based traceability systems (RFID-TS). This study developed an evaluation tool of RFID-TS. To develop the tool, this study considered the objective and the components of RFID-TS as their performance constructs. According to Churchill's paradigm, the tool was established through two stages. The final evaluation tool consisted of four constructs (risk, operational benefits, IS (information system), and network) and nine sub-constructs. Among the four constructs, risk and IS were found as the most important performance constructs through regression analysis. Among the nine sub-constructs, service (which belonged to the IS construct) and economic risk (which belonged to the risk construct) were found as the most important performance sub-constructs.

  • In this paper, we deal with the vehicle routing problem that could establish operational plan of military engineer for survivability support of artillery position construction. We propose VRPTW(vehicle routing problem with time-window) model of special form that considered service level to reflect the characteristics of military operations rather than the logic of economic efficiencies in the objective function. Furthermore we suggest modified particle swarm optimization algorithm for service based vehicle routing problem solution that can be possible to search in complicated and uncertain area and control relation softly between global and local search.
