합리적 차별이론과 고용관계 및 거래 관계에 대한 영향 (Rational Theories of Discrimination and the Implications for Employment Relations and Transactions)

  • Group level discriminations are observed in employment relations and other transactions in the form of residential occupational and production segregation and differential treatments. Recent developments in the rational theories of discrimination both on the market level and the non-market level are reviewed in terms of their relative strengths, weaknesses and complementarities. Taste discrimination could remain much suppressed in the market but could effect much chain reaction through various ways of statistical discrimination, price discrimination, human capital investment and segregation. Taste discrimination could also take the more structured form of co-workers' requiring compensation for reduced productivity due to increasing interactions with members of different language and culture in a non-segregative system. If could also be viewed in the framework of brand learning models. Non-market models of discrimination are seen to be an essential part to explain extended modes of discrimination.

CASA 시스템의 비모수적 상관 특징 추출을 이용한 목적 음성 분리 (Target Speech Segregation Using Non-parametric Correlation Feature Extraction in CASA System)

  • CASA 시스템의 특징 추출은 시간의 연속성과 채널 간 유사성을 이용하여 청각 요소의 상관지도를 구성하여 사용한다. 채널 간 유사성을 교차 상관 계수를 이용하여 특징 추출 할 경우 상관성을 정량적으로 나타내기 위해 계산량이 많은 단점이 있다. 따라서 본 논문에서는 특징 추출 시 계산 량을 줄이기 위한 방법으로 비모수적 상관 계수를 이용한 특징 추출 방법을 제안하고 이를 CASA 시스템을 통하여 목적 음성을 분리하는 실험을 수행하였다. 목적 음성의 분리 성능을 평가하기 위하여 신호 대 잡음비를 측정한 결과, 제안 방식이 기존 방식에 비해 평균 0.14 dB의 미세한 성능 개선을 보였다.

Huntingtin-interacting protein 1-related is required for accurate congression and segregation of chromosomes

  • Huntingtin-interacting protein 1-related (HIP1r) is known to function in clathrin-mediated endocytosis and regulation of the actin cytoskeleton, which occurs continuously in non-dividing cells. This study reports a new function for HIP1r in mitosis. Green fluorescent protein-fused HIP1r localizes to the mitotic spindles. Depletion of HIP1r by RNA interference induces misalignment of chromosomes and prolonged mitosis, which is associated with decreased proliferation of HIP1r-deficeint cells. Chromosome misalignment leads to missegregation and ultimately production of multinucleated cells. Depletion of HIP1r causes persistent activation of the spindle checkpoint in misaligned chromosomes. These findings suggest that HIP1r plays an important role in regulating the attachment of spindle microtubules to chromosomes during mitosis, an event that is required for accurate congression and segregation of chromosomes. This finding may provide new insights that improve the understanding of various human diseases involving HIP1r as well as its fusion genes.

아스팔트 포장의 소성변형에 대한 골재 구조의 영향 평가 (Evaluation of the Effect of Aggregate Structure on Rutting Performance of Asphalt Pavement)

  • 아스팔트 포장에서의 골재분리(segregation)는 혼합물 내의 굵은골재와 잔골재가 고르게 분포하지 않은 결과이며, 균열, 레블링(raveling), 박리(stripping)와 같은 조기 파손을 야기한다. 그러나 소성변형에 대한 골재분리의 효과는 아직까지 제대로 규명되지 못하고 있다. 본 연구에서 수행된 실험 및 분석 결과, 아스팔트 포장의 소성변형은 혼합물의 골재분리보다는 혼합물 내의 골재 구조에 더 큰 영향을 받음을 알 수 있었다. 또한 굵은골재의 체적이 증가함에 따라 혼합물의 소성변형 저항성은 증가하였다. 그러나 이러한 현상은 낮은 공극율을 갖는 혼합물에서는 잘 일치하였지만, 높은 공극율을 갖는 혼합물에서는 골재의 체적 증가 보다는 공극율 자체가 소성변형에 더 큰 영향을 줌을 알 수 있었다. 즉, 공극율 10%를 기준으로, 이를 초과하는 혼합물은 굵은 골재의 체적이 큼에도 불구하고 소성변형 저항성은 크게 감소함을 알 수 있었다.

  • Aggregate is cheaper than cement and confers considerable technical advantages on concrete, which has a higher volume stability and better durability than hydrated cement paste alone. and coarse aggregate is the largest particle size out of concrete and is much affect on the fruidity, compaction and non-segregation ability of high flowing concrete. As the compaction, fillingability and shrinkage of high flowing concrete, the volume ratio of coarse aggregate is prescribed by Japanese Architectural Standard Specificateon (JASS 5) : from 0.500 to 0.500㎥/㎥. It is the aim of this study to compare and analysis the fruidity, fillingability and non-segregation of high flosing concrete according to the volume ratio of coarse aggregate of concrete(G/Glim).

  • This paper presents the results of field application test on the manufacturing of high fluidity concrete by applying flowing methods with segregation reducing type superplasticizer. Base concrete is made with 20% of fly ash, which is flowed during the transportation. According to test results, fluidity, placeability and segregation reducing performance meet the range of high fluidity concrete after flowing, while air loss occurs due to fly ash. There are no noticeable differences in compressive strengths between non-compacting and compacting methods. According to non-destructive tests with rebound and core strength test, we cannot detect any differences in strength according to the height in the structures.

  • This paper presents the history of heat hydration and the core strength of underwater non-segregation concrete. Three types of cements including Type I, Type V and low-heat cement have been used to make the mass specimens for measurement of heat of hydration and also for coring. Two environments of ambient and underwater conditions have been accounted for the comparison of producing the heat of hydration and for the assessment of core strength in respect to the test specimens made under normal practice.

Assessment of the effect of fines content on frost susceptibility via simple frost heave testing and SP determination

  • The Segregation Potential (SP) is one of the most widely used predictors of frost heave in cold regions. Laboratory step-freezing tests determining a representative SP at the onset of the formation of the last ice lens (near the thermal steady state condition) can predict susceptibility to frost heave. Previous work has proposed empirical semi-log fitting for determination of the representative SP and applied it to several fine-grained soils, but considering only frost-susceptible soils. The presence of fines in coarse-grained soil affects frost susceptibility. Therefore, it is required to evaluate the applicability of the empirical semi-log fitting for both frost-susceptible and non-frost-susceptible soils with fines content. This paper reports laboratory frost heave tests for fines contents of 5%-70%. The frost susceptibility of soil mixtures composed of sand and silt was classified by the representative SP, and the suitability of the empirical semi-log fitting method was assessed. Combining semi-log fitting with simple laboratory frost heave testing using a temperature-controllable cell is shown to be suitable for both frost-susceptible and non-frost-susceptible soils. In addition, initially non-frost-susceptible soil became frost susceptible at a 10%-20% weight fraction of fines. This threshold fines content matched well with transitions in the engineering characteristics of both the unfrozen and frozen soil mixtures.

반고상 A356 합금 슬러리의 미세조직에 따른 유동특성에 관한 연구 (Effects of Microstructure Morphology on Fluid Flow Characteristics of A356 Commercial Alloy in Semi-Solid Slurry)

  • The rheocasting characteristics are strongly influenced by the microstructural morphology such as particle size, form factor and contiguity. In this study, the effect of structural morphology on fluid flow characteristics of A356 semi-solid alloy was investigated with a vacuum suction fluidity test. Semi-solid metal slurry was made by the mechanical stirring, the liquidus casting, and H-NCM to be analysed. H-NCM could obtain uniform and fine globular microstructures of 0.9 form factor and 55 ${\mu}m$ particle size. Inoculation was found to be effective for reducing particle size, however, for H-NCM it should be avoided due to the cause of increasing contiguity. The fluidity test indicated that the non-stirring method had higher fluidity and smaller liquid segregation in the same solid faction of 0.4 than the stirring method, for smaller particle size and higher form factor. It was observed that liquid segregation decreased as the particle size is smaller and form factor is higher. The results of die-casting experiment were a good agreement with those of fluidity test.

Inheritance of Herbicide (glufosinate) Resistance in Transgenic Rice Plant through Anther Culture

  • Haploid system by anther culture allows the development of homozygous lines when doubled. The response of anther culture to Basta (glufosinate) resistance was investigated on transgenic plants (cv. Anjungbyeo) in order to identify inheritance of bar gene associated with Basta. Most of the regenerated transgenic plants were sterile, and only a few plants produced viable seeds ($A_1$) in the greenhouse. The bar gene was analysis by PCR in basta resistant transgenic plant ($TA_0$). The transgenic seeds ($A_1$) were significantly germinated in Basta solution compared with non-transformed seeds. As a result of anther culture, in regenerated haploid plants, segregation ratio was 1:1 in five of eight cross combinations. In diploid plants, segregation ratio was 1:1 in seven of eight cross combinations. Although there was some differences in the cross combinations, most of the combinations had 1:1 segregation ratio which supports the theory. The difference may be a result of the small sample size or the difference of anther culture response caused by genotypic difference. Hence, when many cross combinations were anther-cultured the results would support the theory.
