  • In this study, we investigates active control technology to reduce the noise transmitted to the outside through the opening of enclosures. A numerical model based on acoustic boundary element method is first established. Using the numerical model, the acoustic transfer functions of the field points over the opening to the primary source at arbitrary locations are estimated. The feedforward control to minimize the acoustic power through the opening is then numerically implemented. The controller generates the secondary source to destructively interfere the noise transmission through the opening. Finally, a parametric study is conducted to evaluate the effects of the location and the number of the microphones on the control performance. Furthermore, the effects of the location of the secondary source on the performance of active noise control are investigated. It is followed that the control system implemented in this study leads to a significant reduction of about 35dB in sound power through the open using only on secondary source located at the optimized position.

Parametric Study for the Low BVI Noise Rotor Blade Design

  • Compared to the noise limits (CAN7) specified in ICAO Annex 16 for civil helicopters, the Lynx helicopter equipped with BERP blades has only 0.2 EPNdB margin in the approach case although it has more than 4 EPNdB margin in fly-over and take-off conditions. The objectives of the study described in this paper were to devise a low noise main rotor blade for the Lynx using UEAF combined with the high resolution airload model ACROT. A design requirement is that the new blade, KBERP (Korean BERP) blade should achieve a significant reduction in noise during approach(at least 6EPNdB margin) without any noise penalty in fly-over and take-off conditions and minimal performance penalty. It was decided to investigate a tip modification to the BERP blade, employing the twin vortex concept to reduce the BVI noise and to retain the excellent high speed performance characteristics of BERP. Through the parametric study, the KBERP blade with optimized twin vortices has at least a 9 EPNdB noise margin in approach flight condition with only a small penalty in fly-over and take-off conditions. The KBERP tip is thus a very cost effective wav to reduce BVI noise during approach.

  • In recent years, a notebook like an ultrabook gets thinner. Its thickness causes problems in cooling fan performance, system installation condition, and so on. In this study, we installed a small turbofan in notebook system with very narrow gap in order to generate similar condition to a real product. Experiments were performed to measure the fan's performance and the flow and noise characteristics, its results were compared with computational ones. Prediction of P-Q curve using CFD showed under about 5% error in high flow rate and its trend was agreed with experimental one over the flow field. Experimental data to measure the noise at a distance of 100 mm from a rotation axis direction of an impeller corresponded well with computational ones of broadband and BPF noise. Especially, tip part of impeller blade and part of exit and bottom near in an analysis by a commercial program(FlowNoise).

  • 본 논문에서는 통신해양기상위성 센서 데이터 송수신 시스템의 요구 시스템 위상 잡음 스펙트럼 분포도를 제안하였다. 위상 잡음 영향을 최소화하기 위한 해석된 수신 설계 파라미터를 기반으로 센서 측정 신호인 raw, LRIT 및 HRIT 데이터 전송에 적합한 위상 잡음 특성을 제시하였다. 제안된 위상 잡음 특성은 전송 채널상에서 발생하는 주파수 신호 자원의 위상 잡음 영향을 최소화하며, 서비스 단말에 양호한 전송 성능을 제공한다. 또한 제안된 위상 잡음 스펙트럼은 센서 데이터 송수신 시스템의 주파수 발생원의 신호 특성으로 설계할 수 있도록 한다.

A Coherent Algorithm for Noise Revocation of Multispectral Images by Fast HD-NLM and its Method Noise Abatement

  • Numerous spatial and transform-domain-based conventional denoising algorithms struggle to keep critical and minute structural features of the image, especially at high noise levels. Although neural network approaches are effective, they are not always reliable since they demand a large quantity of training data, are computationally complicated, and take a long time to construct the model. A new framework of enhanced hybrid filtering is developed for denoising color images tainted by additive white Gaussian Noise with the goal of reducing algorithmic complexity and improving performance. In the first stage of the proposed approach, the noisy image is refined using a high-dimensional non-local means filter based on Principal Component Analysis, followed by the extraction of the method noise. The wavelet transform and SURE Shrink techniques are used to further culture this method noise. The final denoised image is created by combining the results of these two steps. Experiments were carried out on a set of standard color images corrupted by Gaussian noise with multiple standard deviations. Comparative analysis of empirical outcome indicates that the proposed method outperforms leading-edge denoising strategies in terms of consistency and performance while maintaining the visual quality. This algorithm ensures homogeneous noise reduction, which is almost independent of noise variations. The power of both the spatial and transform domains is harnessed in this multi realm consolidation technique. Rather than processing individual colors, it works directly on the multispectral image. Uses minimal resources and produces superior quality output in the optimal execution time.

Performance evaluation of noise reduction algorithm with median filter using improved thresholding method in pixelated semiconductor gamma camera system: A numerical simulation study

  • To improve the noise characteristics, software-based noise reduction algorithms are widely used in cadmium zinc telluride (CZT) pixelated semiconductor gamma camera system. The purpose of this study was to develop an improved median filtering algorithm using a thresholding method for noise reduction in a CZT pixelated semiconductor gamma camera system. The gamma camera system simulated is a CZT pixelated semiconductor detector with a pixel-matched parallel-hole collimator and the spatial resolution phatnom was designed with the Geant4 Application for Tomography Emission (GATE). In addition, a noise reduction algorithm with a median filter using an improved thresholding method is developed and we applied our proposed algorithm to an acquired spatial resolution phantom image. According to the results, the proposed median filter improved the noise characteristics compared to a conventional median filter. In particular, the average for normalized noise power spectrum, contrast to noise ratio, and coefficient of variation results using the proposed median filter were 10, 1.11, and 1.19 times better than results using conventional median filter, respectively. In conclusion, our results show that the proposed median filter using improved the thresholding method results in high imaging performance when applied in a CZT semiconductor gamma camera system.

  • 이미지 프로세싱에서 잡음은 영상의 품질에 직접적인 영향을 미치는 요소이며, 특히 영상 분할, 에지 검출, 영상 인식과 같은 알고리즘을 포함하는 시스템의 처리과정에 악영향을 미친다. 따라서 전처리 과정으로 잡음 제거가 중요한 역할을 하고 있으며, 이를 위해 다양한 기법들이 제시되었다. 본 논문에서는 Salt and Pepper 잡음의 밀도가 높은 환경에서 효율적으로 잡음을 제거하기 위한 알고리즘을 제안하였다. 제안한 알고리즘은 잡음의 밀도에 따라 필터링 마스크를 단계적인 확장하여 잡음을 제거하였으며, 밀도가 높은 영역에서도 우수한 잡음 제거 성능을 보였다. 제안한 알고리즘의 성능 평가를 위해 시뮬레이션을 통해 기존 방법과 제안한 알고리즘을 비교 분석하였다.

  • Traditional wooden buildings deform over time and are vulnerable to fire or earthquakes. Therefore, traditional wooden buildings require continuous management and repair, and securing architectural drawings is essential for repair and restoration. Unlike modernized CAD drawings, traditional wooden building drawings scan and store hand-drawn drawings, and in this process, many noise is included due to damage to the drawing itself. These drawings are digitized, but their utilization is poor due to noise. Difficulties in systematic management of traditional wooden buildings are increasing. Noise removal by existing algorithms has limited drawings that can be applied according to noise characteristics and the performance is not uniform. This study presents deep artificial neural network based noised reduction for architectural drawings. Front/side elevation drawings, floor plans, detail drawings of Korean wooden treasure buildings were considered. First, the noise properties of the architectural drawings were learned with both a cycle generative model and heuristic image fusion methods. Consequently, a noise reduction network was trained through supervised learning using training sets prepared using the noise models. The proposed method provided effective removal of noise without deteriorating fine lines in the architectural drawings and it showed good performance for various noise types.

  • 본 논문에서는 다중접속간섭. 임펼스 잡음과 나카가미 페이딩 환경에서 DS/CDMA DQPSK 통선시스댐의 B BER 성능을 분석하였다. 고려되는 DS/CDMA DQPSK 통신시스템은 제안한 시스템의 성능을 향상시키기 위하여 최대비 합성(MRC) 다이버시티 수신기법과 오류 정정 BCH 부호화 기법을 채용하였다. 유도한 오율 식을 이용하여 DS/CDMA DQPSK 통신시스댐의 성능을 구하여, 임펄스 지수( A), 가우시안 잡음 전력 대 임펄스 잡음 전력비($\Gamma'$), 다중접속간섭(K), 나카가미 페이딩 파라미터(m), MRC 다이버시티 가지수 (L), 부호의 오류 정정 능력(f), 직접확산 처리 이득(N)과 선호 전력 대 잡음 전력비( $E_b/N_O$)을 함수 로 하여 오율 그래프로 나타내고 분석하였다. 분석한 결과, 제안하는 시스댐의 성능은 무선통신시스댐환경에 서 다중접속간섭, 임펼스 잡음과 나카가미 페이멍에 의해 영향을 받을 수 있다. 또한 희망하는 선호의 전력이 나 임펄스 지수, 가우시안 잡음 천력 대 임펼스 잡음 전력비를 증가시켜 DS/CDMA DQPSK 통신시스댐의 BER 성능을 개선할 수 있음을 알 수 있었다. 그리고 다중접속간섭, 임펄스 잡음과 나카가미 페이딩의 영 향을 억압하기 위해서는 MRC 다이버시티 수산된 DS/CDMA DQPSK 통신시스댐보다는 BCH05.7) 부호화 기법을 적용한 DS/CDMA DQPSK 시스댐이 효율적임을 알 수 있었다.

  • RFID(Radio Frequency Identification) 시스템은 응용 서비스의 비용과 에너지 효율성으로 인해 사물인터넷 기술의 핵심 구성 요소로 각광받고 있다. RFID 기술을 사물인터넷 응용 서비스 분야에서 사용하기 위해서는 RFID 시스템의 리더와 태그 사이의 단순한 인식뿐만 아니라 다양한 정보를 장기간 저장하고 관리할 수 있어야 한다. 그리고 정보를 태그에 읽고 쓰기 위하여 열악한 무선 채널에 강하고 신뢰성 있는 성능 향상 기술이 필요하다. 특히, UHF(Ultra High Frequency) RFID 시스템에서는 다수의 태그가 밀집 환경에서 수동적인 방법으로 통신하기 때문에 개별 태그의 인식률과 전송속도 향상이 필수적이다. 본 논문에서는 임펄스 잡음 환경에서 RFID 시스템의 성능을 분석하기 위하여 Middleton의 A급 임펄스 잡음 모델을 선정하였고 태그에서는 FM0 인코딩과 Miller 인코딩을 적용하여 RFID 시스템의 오율 성능을 분석하였다. Middleton의 A급 임펄스 잡음 채널에서 RFID 시스템의 성능을 분석한 결과, 가우스 잡음 대 임펄스 잡음의 전력비 값과 임펄스 잡음 지수 값이 클수록 가우시안 잡음 채널과 유사함을 알 수 있었다.
