Furnace is currently the most important doping process using POCl3 in solar cell. However furnace need an expensive equipment cost and it has to purge a poisonous gas. Moreover, furnace typically difficult appling for selective emitters. In this study, we developed a new atmospheric pressure plasma source, in this procedure, we research the atmospheric pressure plasma doping that dopant is phosphoric acid($H_3PO_4$). Metal tube injected Ar gas was inputted 5 kV of a low frequency(scores of kHz) induced inverter, so plasma discharged at metal tube. We used the P type silicon wafer of solar cell. We regulated phosphoric acid($H_3PO_4$) concentration on 10% and plasma treatment time is 90 s, 150 s, we experiment that plasma current is 70 mA. We check the doping depth that 287 nm at 90 s and 621 nm at 150 s. We analysis and measurement the doping profile by using SIMS(Secondary Ion Mass Spectroscopy). We calculate and grasp the sheet resistance using conventional sheet resistance formula, so there are 240 Ohm/sq at 90 s and 212 Ohm/sq at 150 s. We analysis oxygen and nitrogen profile of concentration compared with furnace to check the doped defect of atmosphere.
Diamond Like Carbon film is amorphous film which is considered to consist of three coordinate graphite structure and tetrahedron coordinate diamond structure. Its hardness, thermal conductivity and chemical stability are nearly to one of diamond. It is well known to become semi-conductor by doping of inpurity. In this study Diamond Like Carbon film was synthesized by Microwave Plasma CVD in the gas mixture of hydrogen-methan-nitrogen and doped of nitrogen on the single-crystal silicon or silica glass. The temperature of substrate and nitrogen concentration in the gas mixture had an effect on the bonding state, structural properties and conduction mechanism. The surface morphology was observed by Scanning Electron Microscope. The strucure was analyzed by laser Raman spectrometry. The bonding state was evaluated by electron spectroscopy. Diamond Like Carbon film synthesized was amorphous carbon containing the $sp^2$ and $sp^3$ carbon cluster. The number of $sp^2$ bonding increased as nitrogen concentration increased from 0 to 40 vol% in the feed gas at 1233K substrate temperature and at $7.4\times10^3$ Pa. Increase of nitrogen concentration made Diamond Like Carbon to be amorphous and the doze of nitragen could be controlled by nitrogen concentration of feed gas.
Thin film batteries can be used as a micro power source for electronic in which minute power is needed. In this study, lithium phosphorous oxynitride(LIPON) thin films were deposited as an eletrolyte for lithium ion batteries using RF magentron sputtering of lithium phosphate in N2. Ti was also added into the LIPON films as a second network former to enhance the ioinc conductivity of the films. The optimum conditions for LIPON film deposition were sought and the electrolyte with the conductivity of $2.5 \times 10^{-6}$S/cm was obtained at the condition of RF power 4.4 W/$\textrm{cm}^2$, process pressure 10 mtorr and pure nitrogen ambience. Furthermore, the conductivity of LIPON films was increased from $2.5 \times 10^{-6}$S/cm to $8.6 \times 10^{-6}$S/cm by the doping of 2.4at.% Ti. It was also found that by adding Ti to LIPON films, Li content was increased and nitrogen content that reported having the cross-linking effect on LIPON films was also increased as confirmed XPS.
The photodegradation of the model compounds Quinol, an aromatic organic compound and Acid blue FFS, an acid dye of chemical class Triphenylmethane was studied by using illumination with UV lamp of light intensity 250W. $TiO_2$ and $TiO_2$ doped with Boron and Nitrogen was used as catalyst. The sol-gel method was followed with titanium isopropoxide as precursor and doping was done using Boron and Nitrogen. In photocatalytic degradation, $TiO_2$ and doped $TiO_2$ dosage, UV illumination time and initial concentration of the compounds were changed and examined in order to determine the optimal experimental conditions. Operational time was optimized for 360 min. The optimum dosage of $TiO_2$ and BN doped $TiO_2$ was obtained to be 2 $mgL^{-1}$ and 2.5 $mgL^{-1}$ respectively. Maximum degradation % for quinol and Blue FFS acid dye was 78 and 95 respectively, at the optimum dosage of BN-doped $TiO_2$ catalyst. It was 10 and 4% higher than when undoped $TiO_2$ catalyst was used.
Dopants and defects can be introduced as well as the intercalation of metals into single wall carbon nanotubes (SWCNTs) to modify their electronic and magnetic properties, thus significantly widening their application areas. Through spinpolarized density functional theory (DFT) calculations, we have systemically studied the following: (i) (10,0) and (5,5) SWCNT doped with nitrogen ($CN_xNT$), (ii) (10,0) and (5,5) SWCNT with pyridine-like defects (3NV-$CN_xNT$), and (iii) chemical functionalization of (10,0) and (5,5) 3NV-$CN_xNT$ with 12 different transition metals (TMs) (Sc, Ti, V, Cr, Mn, Fe, Co, Ni, Cu, Zn, Pd, and Pt). Attention was done in searching for the most stable configurations, deformation, calculating the formation energies, and exploring the effects of the doping concentration of nitrogen and pyridine-like nitrogenated defects on the electronic properties of the nanotubes. Also, calculating the corresponding binding energies and effects of chemical functionalization of TMs on the electronic and magnetic properties of the nanotubes has been made. We found out that the electronic properties of SWCNT can be effectively modified in various ways, which are strongly dependent not only on the concentration of the adsorbed nitrogen but also to the configuration of the adsorbed nitrogen impurities, the pyridine-like nitrogenated defects, and the TMs absorbed; due to the strong interaction between the d orbitals of TMs and the p orbitals of N atoms, the binding strengths of TMs with the two 3NV-$CN_xNT$ are significantly enhanced when compared to the pure SWCNTs.
Tungsten-nitrogen (W-N) co-doping has been known to enhance the photocatalytic activity of anatase titania nanoparticles by utilizing visible light. The doping effects are, however, largely dependent on calcination or annealing conditions, and thus, the massive production of quality-controlled photocatalysts still remains a challenge. Using density functional theory (DFT) thermodynamics and time-dependent DFT (TDDFT) computations, we investigate the atomic structures of N doping and W-N co-doping in anatase titania, as well as the effect of the thermal processing conditions. We find that W and N dopants predominantly constitute two complex structures: an N interstitial site near a Ti vacancy in the triple charge state and the simultaneous substitutions of Ti by W and the nearest O by N. The latter case induces highly localized shallow in-gap levels near the conduction band minimum (CBM) and the valence band maximum (VBM), whereas the defect complex yielded deep levels (1.9 eV above the VBM). Electronic structures suggest that substitutions of Ti by W and the nearest O by N improves the photocatalytic activity of anatase by band gap narrowing, while defective structure degrades the activity by an in-gap state-assisted electron-hole recombination, which explains the experimentally observed deep level-related photon absorption. Through the real-time propagation of TDDFT (rtp-TDDFT), we demonstrate that the presence of defective structure attracts excited electrons from the conduction band to a localized in-gap state within a much shorter time than the flat band lifetime of titania. Based on these results, we suggest that calcination under N-rich and O-poor conditions is desirable to eliminate the deep-level states to improve photocatalysis.
We fabricated the conventional silicon tips coated with a diamond-like carbon (DLC) film. The DLC films are prepared by the filtered cathodic vacuum arc (FCVA) technique. With increasing nitrogen content in DLC film, the work function($\phi$) and the turn-on voltage decrease and the emission current increases. This phenomenon is due to the fact that the Fermi-level moves to the conduction band by increasing nitrogen doping concentration. We have tested on the stability of the DLC film coated silicon tip during 2 hours at 500V.

This study deals with the catalyst free radio frequency plasma assisted polymerization of ethylene glycol using nitrogen as reactive gas to modify the surface chemistry and morphology. The deposited film was characterized through various analysis techniques i.e. surface profilometry, Forier transform infrared spectroscopy, water contact angle and UV-visible spectroscopy to analyze film thickness, chemical structure, surface energy and optical properties respectively. The surface topography was analyzed by Atomic force microscopy. It was observed that the ethylene oxide behaviour and optical transmittance of the film were reduced with the introduction of nitrogen gas due to higher fragmentation of monomer. However the hydrophilic behavior of the film improved due to formation of new water loving functional groups suitable for biomedical applications.
We apply a density functional theory (DFT) and DFT-based non-equilibrium Green's function approach to study the electronic and transport properties of graphene nanoribbons (GNRs) co-doped with boron-nitrogen, nitrogen-phosphorus and boron-phosphorus. We analyze the structures and charge transport properties of co-doped GNRs and particularly focus on the novel effects that are absent for the single N-, B-, or P-doped GNRs. It is found that co-doped GNRs tend to be doped at the edges and the electronic structures of co-doped GNRs are very sensitive to the doping sites. Also, in case of B-N and B-P co-doped GNRs, conductance dips of single-doped GNRs disappeared with the disappearance of localized states associated with doped atoms. This may lead to a possible method of band engineering of GNRs and benefit the design of graphene electronic devices.
This paper describes the electrical properties of polycrystalline (poly) 3C-SiC thin films with different nitrogen doping concentrations. The in-situ-doped poly 3C-SiC thin films were deposited by using atmospheric-pressure chemical vapor deposition (APCVD) at $1200^{\circ}C$ with hexamethyldisilane (HMDS: $Si_2$$(CH_3)_6)$ as a single precursor and 0 ~ 100 sccm of $N_2$ as the dopant source gas. The peaks of the SiC (111) and the Si-C bonding were observed for the poly 3C-SiC thin films grown on $SiO_2/Si$ substrates by using X-ray diffraction (XRD) and Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy (FT-IR) analyses, respectively. The resistivity of the poly 3C-SiC thin films decreased from $8.35\;{\Omega}{\cdot}cm$ for $N_2$ of 0 sccm to $0.014\;{\Omega}{\cdot}cm$ with $N_2$ of 100 sccm. The carrier concentration of the poly 3C-SiC films increased with doping from $3.0819\;{\times}\;10^{17}$ to $2.2994\;{\times}\;10^{19}\;cm^{-3}$, and their electronic mobilities increased from 2.433 to $29.299\;cm^2/V{\cdot}S$.
