Three cheilostomatous bryozoans from Korean waters were identified. Thalamoporella sibogae Soule, Soule and Chaney, 1992 and Schizomavella acuta Osburn, 1952 are new to Korea, and Buffonellaria acutirostris is new to the bryozoans fauna. S. acuta and B. acutirostris n. sp. are described with figures.

A Streptomyces sp. isolated from a soil sample collected in Taejeon, Korea has previously been found to produce two new polyene antibiotics. The two new antibiotics were named "16-methyloxazolomycin (antibacterial)" and "tetrin C (antifungal)", and their chemical structures are presented elsewhere [10, 11]. In the current study, chemotaxonomy, numerical taxonomy, and ISP methods were all employed for the taxonomic study. The spore chains were spirales and the spore surface was smooth. The spore mass was a gray series and no melanin pigment was produced. On the basis of the morphological and physiological properties, the microorganism was identified to be Streptomyces erumpens, belonging to the gray series of category IV, as defined by Bergey′s Manual. Tetrin C at the concentration of 20 ${\mu}g$/ml demonstrated a potent in vivo (pot test) preventive effect against rice blast, rice sheath blight, cucumber gray mold, wheat powdery mildew, and barley leaf rust.

We report the first occurrence of Ophichthus erabo (Jordan and Snyder, 1901) collected in the waters around Jeju Island. The morphologic characteristics of this species include rich brown semicircular spots distributed on the head, the back, and the dorsal fins. Ophichthus erabo has a similar body color to Ophichthus polyophthalmus but can be clearly distinguished from the latter by the number of vertebrae (152-155 in O. erabo vs. 147-149 in O. polyophthalmus) and the existence of a white spot at the center of a semicircle (i.e., no white spot in O. erabo vs. a white spot in O. polyophthalmus). We suggest a new Korean name for O. erabo to be "Mul-bang-ul-ba-da-baem-gang-eo".

The study introduces the genus Mycobilimbia, from South Korea. M. philippina is reported here as being new to the country. Characteristic features of the species are crustose thallus, globose apothecia, K-proper exciple and hypothecium, Biatora-type asci, 3-septate fusiform ascospores, and a lack of secondary compounds.

A new phycitine moth, Ceroperepes dorsomaculata sp. nov. is described from Korea. Acrobasis rufilimbalis (Wileman) is newly added to the pyralid fauna of Korea, with redescription and illustrations of adult and both sexes of genitalia.

A new limnephilid caddisfly, Nothopsyche bilobata n. sp., is described. The female adult of Apatania martima Ivanov and Levanidova and the larva of Ecclisomyia kamtshatica (Martynov) is newly recorded from Korea. Three undetermined species, Nemotaulius sp. A, Nemotaulius sp. B, and Nothopsyche sp. A, are additionally described.

Since November, 2006, the new creeping platyctenid ctenophore, Coeloplana anthostella n. sp., has been collected from twigs and polyp masses of encrusting dendronephthyans at a depth of 26-32 m off the coast of Munseom, Jejudo Island. This new species is distinguished from C. bocki Komai, 1920 and C. komai Utinomi, 1963 by its smaller size, the absence of dorsal papillae, and the deep scarlet colored star-shaped markings on the dorsal plane. This novel addition to ctenophore fauna is presently described and illustrated in detail.

A taxonomic study on the genus Tropocyclops has been accomplished as a part of the series of studies on the freshwater cyclopoid copepods in South Korea. As a result, the Tropocyclops prasinus, hitherto known from Korea in many reports and papers, turns out to be a species complex of three sibling species: T. prasinus (Fischer, 1860), T. ishidai n. sp., and T. setulifer n. sp. This paper deals with description of two of these new species with taxonomic accounts on their inter- or intraspecific morphological discrepancies.

Ten Korean eumenine wasp species of the genus Stenodynerus, including one new species and six newly recorded species (Stenodynerus chinensis simillimus, S. coreanus, S. clypeopictus, S. funebris, S. frauenfeldi, S. Kalinowskii, S. pappi, S. pullus, S. tergitus sp. nov., S. tokyanus) from Korea were taxonomically reviewed. The male of S. pappi was collected for the first time. Additional characters to distinguish several congeners were also discussed.
