  • Previously, 13 species in six genera of the subfamily Banchinae and 29 speices in 16 genera of the subfamily Pimplinae were known from Korea. In this paper, two species, Rynchobanchus minomensis (Uchida, 1933) and Theronia laevigata nigra Uchida, 1928 are new to Korea. Also, the genus Rynchobanchus is recorded for the first time in Korea. Only one species of Theronia, Theronia atalantae (Poda, 1761), was recorded from Korea by Uchida (1928). New Korean names proposed for these two species are "Eol-gul-ga-si-maep-si-beol" and "Geom-jeong-nap-jak-maep-si-beol" for the R. minomensis and T. laevigata nigra, respectively. A key to the species of Theronia, diagnosis and photographs of diagnostic characters of them are provided.

  • Rotifers collected from Duung and Gyeongpo wetlands in Korea were investigated. Five species belonging to five genera in four families of monogonont rotifers were identified: Cephalodella ventripes (Dixon-Nuttall), Dicranophorus grandis (Ehrenberg), Lecane undulata Hauer, Taphrocampa selenura Gosse, and Testudinella emarginula (Stenroos). All these species are new to the Korean fauna, even though they have very wide or cosmopolitan distributions. The present study is the first report on the genus Taphrocampa Gosse from Korea. The taxonomy and distribution of each new Korean record are briefly discussed here. The diagnostic characteristics, photomicrographs and the deposition of voucher specimen are provided for each new Korean record.

  • Caminus jejuensis n. sp was collected from depth of 20 m at Geomeunyeo, Seogwipo, Jejudo Island by a SCUBA diving from April 2004 to December 2008. This new species is similar to C. chinensis from China in the composition of spicules except for the spherasters and they differ in spicule size and growth form. This species has longer orthotriaenes and spherules, smaller sterrasters and oxyasters than those of C. chinensis. This species also has many spherasters in choanosome, but C. chinensis lacks. Morever, the new species is a massive shape with wrinkles, whereas C. chinensis is a club shape with smooth surface. Description and figures of the new species are provided.

  • A new genus and two new species of Bathynellacea are described from California in USA. Califobathynella, a new genus, belongs to the subfamily Leptobathynellinae, and is closely related to the genera Parvulobathynella and Leptobathynella but differs from them with respect to labrum, maxillule, maxilla, and male thoracopod VIII. Based on the detailed structure of mouthparts, the phylogenetic relationship of three genera are discussed. The phlogenetic age of the stem species of three genera are estimated at the late Jurassic, based on their phylogenetic relationship and distribution pattern. Two new species, C. noodti and C. teucherti differ from each other in the structure of labrum.

Theridion serpatusum Guan and Zhu, 1993 and Lathys annulata ${B\ddot{o}senberg}$ and Strand, 1906 are reported for the first time in Korea. Habitus photos and illustrations of these three species are provided.

  • Clematis pseudotubulosa (Ranunculaceae), a new species from Gyeonggi-do in the Republic of Korea, is described and illustrated. The new species is morphologically similar to C. takedana but differs in its leaves, which are always ternate with shallowly lobed leaflets (vs. 1-pinnate with deeply lobed three to five leaflets), and its oblong-shaped flower buds (vs. ovoid), larger flowers (vs. smaller flowers), and pantoporate pollen (vs. tricolpate). A detailed species description, geographical distribution, and an identification key for all species of Clematis that occur in Korea are also provided.

  • A new parasmittinid bryozoan, Parasmittina pyriformis, is reported from four localities in Korea. This new species closely resembles Parasmittina trispinosa in having one to three spines and a triangular avicularium lateral to the orifice. However, P. pyriformis is characteristic in that a single or paired small pear-shaped avicularia are situated lateral to the orifice and a triangular avicularium occurs in laterals to the orifice or on the frontal wall. The new species is also unique in having two spines in most zooids, but rarely one or three spines, whereas P. trispinosa usually has three spines, sometimes two or four.

  • The genus Eurycletodes Sars, 1909 is reported for the first time in Korea. A new species of the genus Eurycletodes was collected from Hansando Island, South Sea of Korea. So far, Eurycletodes comprises 27 species, with no previously recorded species reported in East Asia, including Korea. Eurycletodes (Oligocletodes) vadumus sp. nov. is morphologically most closely related to E. (O.) denticulatus Por, 1967, E. (O.) aculeatus Sars, 1920, and E. (O.) diva Menzel, 2011, but clearly distinguishable from the others based on the following morphological characteristics: absence of A2 exopodal seta, A1 last segment with two inner setae, P4 exp-3 proximal inner seta modified, the ratio of length and of caudal rami (1.6 times), and mandibular palp with three setae. Together with the new species, the number of valid species in this genus has risen to 28. A key to species of the genus Eurycletodes is provided.
