The Korean nudibranch faunal study has been conducted since 2011 and five species including Dermatobranchus otome Baba, 1992, Mexichromis festiva (Angas, 1864), Noumea nivalis Baba, 1937, Hoplodoris armata (Baba, 1993), and Okenia hiroi (Baba, 1938) were newly reported with re-descriptions and figures. Also, Noumea purpurea Baba, 1949 was re-described with illustrations because previous records for this species were given without a description. Two congeneric species in the genus Noumea could be distinguished by ground color, dorsal markings, color of the mantle edge and gills, and mantle and dorsal marking. In addition, mitochondrial cytochrome c oxidase subunit I (COI) sequences of five species were provided for further molecular identification study. Consequently, a total of 43 species have been reported for the Korean nudibranch fauna.
Bibliographical Description for Revolutionary Historical Archives is created to describe records at the item level. It defines descriptive elements, punctuations, formats and methods. Descriptive elements are composed of 20 elements, each of which is either mandatory or optional. Mandatory elements are: repositories codes, documents codes, dates, creators, title, classification codes, and subject vocabularies. Abstracts were previously included in card cataloging and are removed in the computerized system. New elements, such as "uncontrolled vocabularies," "name of places," "personal names," "organizational structures" and "meetings," are added to allow keyword search. Considering that subject vocabulary searches are the most important in computerized systems, however, Guidelines for the Subject Indexing for Revolutionary Historical Archives as well as Subject Headings, as a result from the Guidelines, are created. The most extraordinary features in Chinese archival description are said to be the Guidelines for the Classification Indexing for Revolutionary Historical Archives and Materials as well as the Classification Scheme, both of which are created to allow subject search of records content. It is because Chinese practice of records management distinguishes the classification for arrangement from that for retrieval. Chinese archival description is, therefore, composed of bibliographic description rules, subject headings, and the classification scheme for retrieval.
Foraminifera are protists that inhabit diverse marine environments and show high abundance and diversity. However, previous studies on foraminifera in Korea mostly focused on geological and paleoecological fields and were conducted in a limited area. Therefore, there is a high possibility for discovering new and unrecorded species. Here we describe three newly recorded foraminiferal species from the southwestern part of Jeju Island during a survey on the meiofaunal community, which belongs to three different genera (Ammobaculites, Cylindroclavulina, Saracenaria), three families (Lituolidae, Vaginulinidae, Valvulinidae), and three orders (Lituolida, Textulariida, Vaginulinida): Ammobaculites formosensis Nakamura, 1937, Cylindroclavulina bradyi (Cushman, 1911), and Saracenaria hannoverana (Franke, 1936). These species have been reported from Chinese region in the East China Sea, however this is the first report from Korean waters. Particularly, Cylindroclavulina bradyi is the first report of the genus Cylindroclavulina in Korean waters. The present study supports the diversity of foraminiferal species in Korea, and the necessity of further surveys in Korean waters.

The genus Clubiona Latreille, 1804 is the most diverse and largest one in the family Clubionidae Wagner, 1887. Twenty-nine species of the genus have been described in various ecosystems from Korea to date. Clubiona semicircularis Tang, Song and Zhu, 2005 which was formerly only known in China and Clubiona ansa n. sp. were collected with a sweep net on the foliage of the shrubs in mixed forests from mountains and agricultural landscape during a seasonal survey of the spider fauna in Korea. This study describes these two species with a diagnosis, measurements, and morphological illustrations. In addition, the female of C. semicircularis is described with a diagnosis for the first time from the present study.
One of the features of record management during the Gabo Reform is that the documents office controled producing and distribution of records. The records completed the operations were sent the record office and classified and arranged. previous researches understood this record management system during Gabo Reform were introduced from Japan. This article clarifies that new record management system settled through Meiji Restoration were introduced from German(Prussian) registry system at the time. However, German registry system managed current records and this system was based on modern record management system which open the records to the public with archives. Japan accepted only registry system, current record management system of German, and didn't established archives at Meiji regime. It is same with Joseon Dynasty during the Gabo Reform regime. Therefore, the record related regulation at the Gabo Reform regime could not be judged to be a modern system. The regulations on records at Gabo Reform regime had no terms about people's right or open the records to the public which decides modern record regulations. The meaning of record system during Gabo Reform regime is that the value of records and name of organizations coincides with record life cycle. The documents office managed current records and record office classified and filed closed records. Concept of "current record=document=documents office, non-current record=record= record office" didn't succeed to today. The term 'record' is used as current record or non-current record without difference.

Objectives: An accurate estimation of cancer patients is the basis of epidemiological studies and health services. However in Korea, cancer patients visiting out-patient clinics are usually ruled out of such studies and so these studies are suspected of underestimating the cancer patient population. The purpose of this study is to construct a more complete, hospital-based cancer patient registry using multiple sources of medical information. Methods: We constructed a cancer patient detection algorithm using records from various sources that were obtained from both the in-patients and out-patients seen at Asan Medical Center (AMC) for any reason. The medical data from the potentially incident cancer patients was reviewed four months after first being detected by the algorithm to determine whether these patients actually did or did not have cancer. Results: Besides the traditional practice of reviewing the charts of in-patients upon their discharge, five more sources of information were added for this algorithm, i.e., pathology reports, the national severe disease registry, the reason for treatment, prescriptions of chemotherapeutic agents and radiation therapy reports. The constructed algorithm was observed to have a PPV of 87.04%. Compared to the results of traditional practice, 36.8% of registry failures were avoided using the AMC algorithm. Conclusions: To minimize loss in the cancer registry, various data sources should be utilized, and the AMC algorithm can be a successful model for this. Further research will be required in order to apply novel and innovative technology to the electronic medical records system in order to generate new signals from data that has not been previously used.
The four species of the suborder Holaxonia, Anthogorgia japonica Studer, 1889 of family Acanthogorgiidae, Astrogorgia rubra (Thomson & Henderson, 1906), Euplexaura attenuata (Nutting, 1910), and E. erecta (Kukenthal, 1908) of family Plexauridae have been newly recorded in Korea. They were collected from intertidal and sublittoral zones in the western and southern coasts and Jeju-do Island of Korea by SCUBA diving and fishing nets from 1969 to 2010. This study approaches holaxonians by focusing on external and internal morphologies including size, form, and color of colonies, branches, polyps, coenenchyme, axis, and spicules. Anthogorgia japonica is characterized by its planar growth form, dichotomously branched form, non-retractile polyps, and Astrogorgia rubra by arrangement of calyxes being situated in lateral side at stems and alternately in all sides at branches. Euplexaura attenuata is sparsely and laterally branched colony, and has straight wand-like stems. Euplexaura erecta has branches which run parallel to the main stem.
Specimens of nudibranchs have been surveyed by scuba diving from 9 localities along the Korean coast. By examination of morphological characteristics, four species in the superfamily Doridoidea which are new to Korea were identified, and re-described: Thorunna florens (Baba, 1949), Diaulula sandiegensis (Cooper, 1863), Jorunna parva (Baba, 1938), and Doris odhneri (MacFarland, 1966). In addition, radulae of three species were observed and photographed by using scanning electron microscopy. As a result of the study, 16 species of doridoidean nudibranch are now known from Korean waters.
Three damselfishes, Dascyllus melanurus, Dascyllus trimaculatus and Poamcentrus nagasakiensis were collected in the coastal waters of Cheju Island, Korea, during the period from July 1994 to May 1997. These taxa were a new records to th Korean fish fauna. This study re-describe about family Pomacentridae (6 genera, 13 species) including 3 new recorded species and suggest the taxonomic key of family pomacentridae from Korea.

The true cuttlefishes genus Sepia (Doratosepion) Linne, 1758, characterized by shell thick, entirely calcareous, shell almost as long as mantle, was collected from the coastal of Dong-Am, Busan, Korea in April, 2004. The specimen agreed closely with description of Sepia (Doratosepion) kobiensis Hoyle, 1885 and S. tokioensis Ortmann, 1888. We herein described the species, being as the first record of S. kobiensis and tokioensis from the region. New Korean names are also provided.
