  • The purpose of this study is to understand the attractiveness of the vinyl record industry and derive implications by analyzing the structure of the industry. A few previous studies pay attention to the rapidly increasing demand for vinyl records, especially from a consumer point of view, and unlike the analysis of the consumption and vinyl record industry, this study focuses on the subjects of production and distribution of vinyl records. This paper collects data through in-depth interviews with experts in the vinyl record industry and various secondary data, which is analyzed by Porter(1980/2008)'s Five Forces Model. According to the analysis, the attractiveness of the vinyl record industry is positive in terms of the appropriate competitive strength in the industry and weak bargaining power of buyers, but negative in terms of the strong bargaining power of new entrants and substitutes. The outcome of this research has significance as basic data implying that companies that are trying to enter the vinyl record industry need to make strategic decisions.

  • Chelonaplysilla supjiensis n. sp. belonging to family Darwinellidae was collected from Jejudo Island, Korea in 2008. C. supjiensis n. sp. is closely to C. noevus in surface structure and skeleton, but differ in surface, sandy reticulation mixed with many spicule detritus. This study is a new record of genus, family and order in Korea.

  • A new species of the Cletopsyllidae belonging to the genus Isocletopsyllus Huys and Lee, 1999 is described from the materials collected from subtidal sandy bottoms at Jeju Island and Ulleung Island, Korea. So far, only two species of the genus Isocletopsyllus, viz. I. tertius (Por, 1964) from Israel and I. quartus (Soyer, 1966) from Banyuls-sur-Mer (France) are recorded, both from the Mediterranean Ocean. The new species can be clearly distinguished from its congeners by the combination of the following characters: (1) female antennule with a large process on the outer margin of first segment, (2) caudal rami with a bulbous proximal inner expansion, and shorter than those of other species (about four times long as wide in the new species), (3) second segment of P1 exopod with a short rod-like inner seta, (4) sexual dimorphism presented in the second endopodal segment of male P2, not in exopod of P4, and (6) female P5 with a very long exopod with very short second outer seta. A table comparing the modifications of swimming legs in the family Cletopsyllidae Huys and Lee, 1999 is presented. This is the first record of this family from Korea.

  • Three specimens (23.5~26.9 mm in SL) of Eviota (Gobiidae) were collected from about 13 m depth off Munseom, Jeju Island, Korea. They are identified as Eviota melasma by their having a conspicuous black spot on the occipital region of the head and no spots on the dorsal midline of the body. This represents a first record of the species from Korea and a northernmost occurrence of the species.

  • Sciaria thoracica Matsumura belonging to the family Sciaridae is recorded from Korea for the first time. This species is a conspicuous species having the rufous thorax in Palearctic region. The morphological diagnosis and photos of adult, and the result of DNA barcoding inferred from the Korean and the Japanese populations of S. thoracica are provided.

  • This study dealt with cumacean specimens collected from the shallow waters of the South Sea and East Sea, Korea. Campylaspis fusiformis Gam$\hat{o}$, 1960 belonging to the family Nannastacidae is newly recorded to Korean fauna. This species resembles C. pumila and C. striata in having a similar body form and a pair of narrow lateral sulcuses on the carapace, but it is easily distinguished from them by the dactylus of the pereopod 2 which is more than 3.5 times the length of the propodus and bears many setae (about 20) on the surface. This species mainly occurs in the Korean and Japanese waters.
