  • Micromorphometric and histological examinations were conducted with a collected tissue specimen nine months after sinus bone graft using autogenous tooth bone graft material (AutoBT). As a result of micro-computed tomographic analysis, the total bone volume (graft material+new bone) was 76.45%, and the proportion of new bone was 45.4%. The bone mineral density and the average Hounsfield Unit of new bone were 0.26 and 1,164.69, respectively. The histological examination showed that AutoBT particles were united well with new bone. AutoBT was considered to have excellent bone healing ability after sinus graft and bone density that can resist repneumatization.

  • Recently the trend of new materials development is extensively and very actively progressing in the study of physical and chemical characteristics developing a totally new material along with the study field of recently discovered material modifying physically and chemically characteristics. Among these fields of studies, one method to improve adaptation of inorganic material is the study of mesoporous materials. The most general way to synthesize mesoporous materials is to mold the very systematical mesopore into a corpuscle by using templates(omitted)

  • The objective of this work is to study the wave propagation of an FGM plate via a new integral inverse shear model with temperature-dependent material properties. In this contribution, a new model based on a high-order theory field of displacement is included by introducing indeterminate integral variables and inverse co-tangential functions for the presentation of shear stress. The temperature-dependent properties of the FGM plate are assumed mixture of metal and ceramic, and its properties change by the power functions of the thickness of the plate. By applying Hamilton's principle, general formulas of wave propagation were obtained to plot the phase velocity curves and wave modes of the FGM plate with simply supported edges. The effects of the temperature and volume fraction by distributions on wave propagation of the FGM plate are investigated in detail. The results of the dispersion and the phase velocity curves of the propagation wave in the functionally graded plate are compared with previous research.

  • This paper describes the development of new type arrester for 22.9kV class distribution lines, with polymer insulating materials applied to their housings. The new arrester employs silicone insulating material for its housing, instead of the conventional porcelain housing, aiming at reduction in size and weight and explosion proof against internal short circuit failure. And, since the design of sheds is not restricted. it is possible to provide a long surface leakage distance per strike length and improve anti-contamination performance.

  • We demonstrated high power efficiency and long lifetime for organic light-emitting diode (OLED) using a new electron transport material (ETM-1). A power efficiency of the device with ETM-1 was improved compared to a standard device using tris(8-hydroxy-quinolinate)aluminum ($Alq_3$). Moreover, the lifetime was 4 times longer than the standard device.

  • Purpose: The aim of this case report is to present the longitudinal results of sinus grafting using a new demineralized bovine bone material (DBBM) in human cases. Methods: A patient with a resorbed maxilla was treated by maxillary sinus grafting using a new deproteinized bovine bone material. After a healing period of 6.5 months, three implants were placed and restored. The patient was periodically recalled and followed up for 5 years after restoration. Results: Twelve partially edentulous patients (average age, 55.7 years) were followed up. All patients had insufficient residual height in their maxillary posterior area and underwent maxillary sinus graft surgery to increase the height of their maxilla. In all, 27 fixtures were placed in the augmented bone area. On average, 8.6 months later, implants were loaded using provisional or final restorations. The observation period ranged from 27 to 75 months (average, 43.3 months), and the patients did not show any severe resorption of the graft material or any infection during this time. Conclusions: Our results show that the new DBBM is useful for a maxillary sinus graft procedure. Good healing responses as well as reliable results were obtained for an average follow-up period of 43.3 months.

  • Solvatokinetic and solvatochromic behavior of bis(indolinobenzospiropyranyl) sulfide derivatives 1a-1c have been studied in various solvents. The marked negative solvatochromism is exhibited for 1a and 1b in the whole region of solvent polarity examined. Whereas, it is found only in the polar solvent region ($E_T$ > 37) for 1c. The sensitivity order to the solvent media (slope values) is 1a > 1b > 1c. The branched linear plot with a zero slope was shown for the most sterically-hindered compound 1c in the less polar-solvent region (($E_T$ < 37). The biphasic plot is indicative of dual mechanistic process, i.e., a transition state with increased zwitter-ionic character in more polar solvents and electrocyclic process with an isopolar transition state in less polar solvents.

  • We will introduce our new concept deposition system for SMOLED manufacturing in this conference. This system is designed to deposit organic and metal material to downward to overcome the limit of substrate size and process tact time hurdle for OLED mass production, and is organized with organic deposition chamber, substrate pre-cleaning chamber, metal deposition chamber and encapsulation system. These entire process chambers are integrated with linear type substrate transfer system. We also compare our new SMOLED manufacturing system with conventional vacuum deposition systems, and show basic organic thin film property data, organic material deposition property data, and basic device property.

  • A simple new device for obtaining very clear epidermal imprints for light microscopic studies is discussed. This new device is developed from“Britfix”(polystyrene cement) which is non-toxic to the plant organs. It involves direct application of the material on the desired surface of the plant organ to obtain thin, transparent replica. From the present investigation“Britfix”is found to be useful for the study of epidermal anatomy, morphology and physiology. Epidermal imprints can be mounted on the microscope slide without a mounting medium. Permanent slide of these imprints can be kept for any desired period without any deterioration of the replica.
