  • The Korean population of the sword-tailed cricket subfamily Trigonidiinae is reviewed for the first time. Four members of the crickets are confirmed based on the examined material, those are Metioche japonica (Ichikawa, 2001), Svistella bifasciata (Shiraki, 1911), Homoeoxipha obliterata (Caudell, 1927) and Natula matsuurai Sugimoto, 2001, each of them belonging to a different genera. Among them, the former two are reconfirmed since earlier records, and latter two are newly recognized genera and species from the far southern provinces Jeollanam-do and Jeju-do Island in Korea. The type locality of both crickets is Japan, and are also only previously referred to in Japan, but their distributional ranges include neighboring South Korea. A key to the species, descriptions, photographs, figures, and oscillograms of male's calling sounds are provided to aid their identification.

  • In the family Crisiidae (Bryozoa: Cyclostomata), 90 species have been recognized worldwide in seven genera: Bicrisia d'Orbigny, 1853, Crisia Lamouroux, 1812, Crisidia Milne Edwards, 1838, Crisiella Borg, 1924, Crisiona Canu & Bassler, 1928, Filicrisia d'Orbigny, 1853 and Unicrisia d'Orbigny, 1853. Four species in Crisiidae are described from 11 localities from 2008 to 2014, resulting in two new distributional records and two new species in Korea. The new additions to the fauna are: Crisia cuneata Maplestone, 1905, C. elongata Milne Edwards, 1838, C. jejuensis n. sp. and Filicrisia cygnus n. sp. A total of seven Korean crisiids with the addition of four species reported herein are recorded and distributed in three genera: Bicrisia, Crisia and Filicrisia. Accordingly, the Korean cyclostomatous bryozoans come to be 12 species, in eight genera, and five families. All of Korean Crisia eburneodenticulata specimens needed to be reexamined, thus this species is tentatively deleted from the Korean bryozoan fauna.

  • The leafhopper genus Batracomorphus Lewis, 1834 belongs to the tribe Batracomorphini (Hemiptera: Auchenorrhyncha: Cicadellidae: Iassinae). B. irroratus Lewis, 1834 was designated as its type species. The genus includes most diverse species in the subfamily Iassinae and contains approximately 350 described species from the world. In Korea, four Batracomorphus species, B. allioni (Turton, 1802), B. punctilliger Anufriev, 1981, B. stigmaticus (Matsumura, 1912), B. viridulus (Melichar, 1902), have been reported in the Korean peninsula. The members of this genus have a similar body size and similar general appearances; thus, it is very difficult to identify clearly without examining the male's genital structures. In this study, Batracomorphus furcatus Li and Wang, 2003 is newly reported from Korea for the first time. This species is previously known to be from China. Herein, the morphological information of B. furcatus Li and Wang is provided with a re-description, photographs of the male dorsal habitus, illustrations of the genitalia structure and distributional records. In addition, a key to the Korean five species of Batracomorphus is presented.
