Due to the evolution of wired and wireless communication technologies and the Internet, multimedia services such as Internet broadcast and VOD have been prevalent recently. RTP is designed to be suitable for transmission of real-time multimedia data on the Internet by IETF While a variety of applications have utilized different RTPs implemented as a library, embeddedRTP is RTP-based kernel-level protocol that resolved performance issues of this kind of RTPs. This paper proposes the ExtendedERTP protocol based on existing embeddedRTP. This new protocol resolves a couple of issues such as packet processing overhead and buffer requirement and combines its APIs with BSD socket APIs which have been widely utilized in network applications. This paper demonstrates that this integration makes it possible to transmit real-time multimedia data through the accustomed interface of BSD socket APIs with nominal extra overhead. This paper also proposes a scheme for improving packet processing time by 15$\sim$20% and another scheme for reducing memory requirement for packet processing to about 3.5%, comparing with those of embeddedRTP.
The Linux-based embedded systems such as mobile telephones. PDAs and MP3 players are widely in use. USB(Universal Serial Bus) is the interface for data communication between the computers and these peripheral devices. Some embedded systems like intelligent home networking and multimedia streaming require guaranteed QoS(Quality of Service), which is needed for real time transmission of UDP/IP messages through USB. Although USB Ethernet driver is supported by USB Gadget API in Linux, it is unable to provide the desirable QoS required by each type or small embedded systems due to the unpredictability or TCP/IP Stack in Linux. This paper proposes IP-Over-USB to improve QoS of UDP/IP message transmission in the embedded systems using USB in Linux system.

Recently, various home appliances are inter connected in wired/wireless network to provide a single service, but their interfaces are not uniformly integrated. In order to get a service in such an environment, users have to figure out how to control each appliance and the way of combining its functions with others. Even worse to the users, many buttons are barely used to control the complicated functions of the appliances on the remote controllers, and controllers have very similar shapes in each other. In this paper, based on the definitions of a task as a unit of services provided in the environment of multi-connected appliances, we propose a markup language for home appliances, called HAML (Home Appliance Markup Language), for generating task-based user interfaces to help controlling multi-connected appliances as one pleases. The proposed method generates interfaces by gathering the buttons frequently used and necessary for tasks, and provides automatic settings of multi-connected appliances. The proposed method is verified with an analysis of scenarios and usability tests.

In this paper, we shows the implementation of Web based performance manager which analyze the traffic of a Web server to support the diagnostics of it. The manager monitors the HTIP traffic by polling and measures and presents is performance on demand. To enhance the adaptability of management interface Web based interfaces with JAVA is used. Recently, the need of traffic management on s Web has grown, because of increasing Web traffic. Therefore, the traffic management of Web service and the effective management of a Web server's performance are needed. We have designed interfaces with which is comprised of Collection-Request, Analysis-Request, Realtime-Monitoring, Comparison-Analysis on a client with Web Browser on a network, and implemented the server system that can analyze these requests. Also we have introduced some perfonnance indicator by referring a Web related MIB. Also, we have designed and developed a message format for communication between the Web client and the server system.

In this paper, the novel scheme of OAM performance management function is proposed to supply the most of network resources and reliable services by processing data having various QoS(quality of service) in the view of cell loss and cell delay of ATM networks Also, the special fields of OAM cell are defined in order to improve correlate control, operation, and management technique between networks which is required to flexibility and precision control as detecting the performance information of the variable networks periodically. The proposed OAM function, the input/output function of cell, and the interface function of the accessory device which is likely to the memory/CPU are designed to ASIC. The designed chip is carried out the back-end simulation using Verilog-XL simulator of Cadence. In result, it is able to performs an accurate control in $2{\mu}s$.
cdma2000 offers several enhancement as compared to TIA/EIA-95, although it remains fully compatible with TIA/EIA-95 systems and allows for a smooth migration from one to the other-Major new capability include:1)connectivity to GSM-MAP in addition to IP and IS-41 networks; 2) new layering with new LAC and MAC architectures for improved service multiplexing and QoS management and efficient use of radio resource ;3) new bands and band widths of operation in support of various operator need and constraints, as well as desire for a smooth and progressive migration to cdma 2000; and 4) flexible channel structure in support of multiple services with various QoS and variable transmission rates at up to 1 Mbps per channel and 2 Mbps per user. Given the phenomenal success of wireless services and desire for higher rate wireless services. improved spectrum efficiency was a major design goal in the elaboration of cdma2000. Major capacity enhancing features include; 1) turbo coding for data transmission: 2)fast forward link power control :3) forward link transmit diversity; 4) support of directive antenna transmission techniques; 5) coherent reverse link structure; and 6) enhanced access channel operation. As users increasingly rely on their cell phone at work and at home for voice and data exchange, the stand-by time and operation-time are essential parameters that can influence customer's satisfaction and service utilization. Another major goal of cdma2000 was therefore to enable manufacturers to further optimize power utilization in the terminal. Major battery life enhancing features include; 1) improved reverse link performance (i.e., reduced transmit power per information bit; 2) new common channel structure and operation ;3) quick paging channel operation; 4) reverse link gated transmission ; and 5) new MAC stated for efficient and ubiquitous idle time idle time operation. this article provides additional details on those enhancements. The intent is not to duplicate the detailed cdma2000 radio access network specification, but rather to provide some background on the new features of cdma2000 and on the qualitative improvements as compared to the TIA/EIA-95 based systems. The article is focused on the physical layer structure and associated procedures. It therefore does not cover the MAC, LAC, radio resource management [1], or any other signaling protocols in any detail. We assume some familiarity with the basic CDMA concepts used in TIA/EIA-95.

In this paper. we design and implement a bi-directional broadcasting system, so called return channel server, to allow users to participate in a broadcasting program by using a hi-directional interaction channel. To provide user participation in a program and reflect the user's opinions or responses in real time, the return channel server can be viewed as consisting of four major functional modules: a control module, network interface module, DBMS module, and real-time content authoring module. To construct a return channel server that has a service independent architecture, we designed a return channel server to include the hierarchical structure. The presented return channel server consists of two parts: an RCSAE(return channel server application environment) and RCSA(return channel server application). An RCSA is composed of an execution code and a parameter for executing the execution code. RCSA defines the procedures for providing a specific broadcasting program using the return channel server. On the other hand, an RCSAE provides the environment for the execution of RCSAS. By adopting RCSAE and RCSA, we construct the return channel server that has a service-independent architecture which are shown by the test.

We propose an Agent-based Fault Tolerant Object Group model based on the agent technology and FTOG model with replication mechanism for effective object management and fault recovery. We define the five kind of agents - internal processing agent, registration agent, state handling agent, user interface agent, and service agent - that extend the functions of the FTOG model. The roles of the agents in the proposed model are to reduce the remote interactions between distributed objects and provide more effective service execution. To verify the effectiveness of the proposed model, we implemented the Intelligent Home Network Simulator (IHNS) which virtually provides general home networking services. Through the simulations, it is validated that the proposed model decreases the interactions of the object components and supports the effective fault recovery, while providing more stable and reliable services.
This paper presents a regionalized time slotted channel hopping (TSCH) slotframe-based aerial data collection using wake-up radio. The proposed scheme aims to minimize the delay and energy consumption when an unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) collects data from sensor devices in the large-scale service area. To this end, the proposed scheme divides the service area into multiple regions, and determines the TSCH slotframe length for each region according to the number of cells required by sensor devices in each region. Then, it allocates the cells dedicated for data transmission to the TSCH slotframe using the ID of each sensor device. For energy-efficient data collection, the sensor devices use a wake-up radio. Specifically, the sensor devices use a wake-up radio to activate a network interface only in the cells allocated for beacon reception and data transmission. The simulation results showed that the proposed scheme exhibited better performance in terms of delay and energy consumption compared to the existing scheme.
