Recent research regarding local traditions, cultural heritage, and sightseeing resources that represent local characteristics for the purpose of local promotion has been actively advanced. Yangyeongsi in Daegu, South Korea is Doing developed as a core location in order to revitalize regional culture. The unique tradition and functions of this city area have been preserved. Previous research "The Fundamental Research of Revitalization for Yangyeongsi in Daegu for the Local Promotion" undertaken by the author revealed a lack of fundamental research available to establish an understanding of how to revitalize Yangyeongsi. The research methodology designed this by, (1)a site investigation and verification of previous research (2)a deep analysis of Yangyeongsi to uncover potential improvement opportunities (3) assessment of essential elements and appropriate directions for revitalization of the traditional market (4) application of the environment design improvement process to the local design center. The design proposal is that, firstly, space assessment will De improved by the maintenance and expansion of fundamental facilities. Secondly, space application can be maximized by servicing the complex road network through a traffic flow plan. In addition, consideration for the local characteristics will promote unity and identification with the region. Lastly, revitalization and industrialization development of sightseeing resources and secure streets and event spaces will promote enjoyable experiences for visitors. Research results were submitted to the local authority and applied to the future policy plan. Continuous research on revitalization and analysis of the local characteristics are recommended in order to benefit local promotion.

Research on changes in research trends in academic disciplines is a method that enables observation of not only the detailed research subject and structure of the field but also the state of change in the flow of time. Therefore, in this study, in order to observe the changes of research trend in library and information science field in Korea, co-word analysis was conducted with Korean author keywords from three types of journals which were listed in the Korea Citation Index(KCI) and have top citation impact factor were selected. For the time series analysis, the 15-year research period was accumulated in 5-years units, and divided into 2003~2007, 2003~2012, and 2003~2017. The keywords which limited to the frequency of appearance 10 or more, respectively, were analyzed and visualized. As a result of the analysis, during the period from 2003 to 2007, the intellectual structure composed with 25 keywords and 8 areas was confirmed, and during the period from 2003 to 2012, the structure composed by 3 areas 17 sub-areas with 76 keywords was confirmed. Also, the intellectual structure during the period from 2003 to 2017 was crowded into 6 areas 32 consisting of a total of 132 keywords. As a result of comprehensive period analysis, in the field of library and information science in Korea, over the past 15 years, new keywords have been added for each period, and detailed topics have also been subdivided and gradually segmented and expanded.

The AC-common bus microgrid system can overcome several weaknesses of the DC microgrid system by interconnecting the DC/AC inverters used for renewable energy with an AC network. Nevertheless, the unbalanced loads inherent in the electric power systems of island and small communities can deteriorate the performance of the AC microgrid system. This is because of the limited voltage regulation capability and mixed power flow in the voltage source inverter. In order to overcome the unbalanced load condition, this paper proposes a voltage and current control algorithm for the 4-leg inverter based on the single phase d-q control method, as well as the modeling of the voltage controller using Matlab/Simulink S/W. From the S/W simulation and experiment of the 250KW proto-type inverter, it is confirmed that the proposed algorithm is a useful tool for the design and operation of the AC microgrid system.

Transformation towards multicultural society requires discussion on new concepts of citizenship which would overcome some limits of national citizenship developed on the basis of the nation-state. Citizenship can be defined as a relationship between individuals and their community, and conceptualized in a relation with identity. Citizenship also includes its spatial elements such as site and movement, place and public/private space, boundary and territory, flow and network, level and scale, etc. and in particular implies a multi-scalability of local, national, and global level. A new discussion on citizenship has emerged in Japan in shift to multicultural society, especially focusing on activities of local governments and grassroots social movements to support and ensure welfare services to and human rights of foreign immigrants in local communities, hence develops a concept of local citizenship. This concept seems to be highly significant for both foreign immigrants and Japanese dwellers for multicultural coexistence, but raises serious problems of separating local citizenship from formal national citizenship and from universal global citizenship. In order to resolve these problems, a new multiscalar concept of glocal citizenship which links interrelationally local, national and global citizenship. The concept of glocal citizenship is suggested to lead academically a new version of cosmopolitanism which embraces the universal and the particular in a dialectic manner, and to give strategically an alternative to multicultural coexistence policy and discourse and local citizenship discussion in Japan.

Transportation has been playing important role in our society by providing for people, freight, and information. However, it cuts its own throat by causing car accidents, traffic congestion, and air pollution. The main cause of these problems is a noticeable growth in the number of vehicles. The easiest way to mitigate these problems is to build new road infrastructures unless resources such as time, money, and space are limited. Therefore, there is a need to manage the existing road infrastructures effectively and safely. In this paper, we propose a road reservation scheme that provides fast and safe response for emergency vehicles using ubiquitous sensor network. Our idea is to allow emergency vehicle to reserve a road on a freeway for arriving to the scene of the accident quickly and safely. We evaluate the performance by three reservation method (No, Hop, and Full) to show that emergency vehicles such as ambulances, fire trucks, or police cars can rapidly and safely reach their destination. Simulation results show that the average speed of road reservation is about 1.09 ~ 1.20 times faster than that of non-reservation at various flow rates. However, road reservation should consider the speed of the emergency vehicle and the road density of the emergency vehicle processing direction, as a result of Hop Reservation and Full Reservation performance comparison analysis. We confirm that road reservation can guarantee safe driving of emergency vehicles without reducing their speed and help to mitigate traffic congestion.

Background: Investigating strategy to enhance efficiency of gene transfer via adenovirus is critical to sustain gene expression in targeted cells or tissues to regulate immune responses. However, the use of adenovirus as a gene delivery method has been limited by the native tropism of the virus. In this study, the critical parameter is to improve the efficient binding of viral particles to the plasma membrane prior to cellular uptake. Methods: Human immunodeficiency virus (HIV-1) trans-acting activator of transcription (TAT), a protein transduction domain, was fused to the ectodomain of the coxsackie-adenovirus receptor (CAR). The CAR-TAT protein was produced from a Drosophila Schneider 2 cells (S2) transfected with CAR-TAT genes. The function of CARTAT was analyzed the efficiency of adenoviral gene transfer by flow cytometry, and then immunizing AdVGFP with CAR-TAT was transduced on dendritic cells (DCs). Results: S2 transfectants secreting CAR-TAT fusion protein has been stable over a period of 6 months and its expression was verified by western blot. Addition of CAR-TAT induced higher transduction efficiency for AdVGFP at every MOI tested. When mice were vaccinated with DC of which adenoviral transduction was mediated by CAR-TAT, the number of IFN-${\gamma}$ secreting T-cells was increased as compared with those DCs transduced without CAR-TAT. Conclusion: Our data provide evidence that CAR-TAT fusion protein enhances adenoviral transduction and immunogenecity of transgenes on DCs and may influence on the development of adenoviral-mediated anti-tumor immunotherapy.
Background: 15d-$PGJ_2$ has been known to act as an anti-inflammatory agent and has anti-hypertensive effects. As a result of these properties, we examined the effect of 15d-$PGJ_2$ on the LPS-induced IL-8/CXCL8 mRNA expression in VSMCs from SHR. Methods: Effect and action mechanism of 15d-$PGJ_2$ on the expression of LPS-induced IL-8/CXCL8 mRNA in VSMCs from SHR and WKY were examined by using real-time polymerase chain reaction, electrophoretic mobility shift assay for NF-${\kappa}B$ avtivity, Western blotting analysis for ERK and p38 phosphorylation and flow cytometry for NAD(P)H oxidase activity. Results: 15d-$PGJ_2$ decreased the expression of LPS-induced IL-8/CXCL8 mRNA in WKY VSMCs, but increased the expression of LPS-induced IL-8/CXCL8 mRNA in SHR VSMCs. The upregulatory effect of 15d-$PGJ_2$ in SHR VSMCs was mediated through PPAR${\gamma}$, and dependent on NF-${\kappa}B$ activation and ERK phosphorylation. However, inhibition of the p38 signaling pathway augmented the upregulatory effect of 15d-$PGJ_2$ on LPS-induced IL-8/CXCL8 mRNA. A NAD(P)H oxidase inhibitor inhibited the upregulatory effect of 15d-$PGJ_2$ on LPS-induced IL-8/CXCL8 mRNA expression in SHR VSMCs, and an increase in NAD(P)H oxidase activity was detected in SHR VSMCs treated with 15d-$PGJ_2$/LPS. Conclusion: Our results indicate that the upregulatory effect of 15d-$PGJ_2$ on LPS-induced IL-8/CXCL8 expression in SHR VSMCs is mediated through the PPAR${\gamma}$ and ERK pathway, and may be related to NAD(P)H oxidase activity. However, p38 inactivation may also play an important role in 15d-$PGJ_2$/LPS-induced IL-8/CXCL8 expression in SHR VSMCs.
The tropical wet evergreen, tropical semi evergreen and moist deciduous forest types are projected to be impacted by climate change. In the Western Ghats region, a biodiversity hotspot, evergreen forests including semi evergreen account for 30% of the forest area and according to climate change impact model projections, nearly a third of these forest types are likely to undergo vegetation type change. Similarly, tropical moist deciduous forests which account for about 28% of the forest area are likely to experience change in about 20% of the area. Thus climate change could adversely impact forest biodiversity and product flow to the forest dependent households and communities in Uttara Kannada district of the Western Ghats. This study analyses the distribution of non-timber forest product yielding tree species through a network of twelve 1-ha permanent plots established in the district. Further, the extent of dependence of communities on forests is ascertained through questionnaire surveys. On an average 21% and 28% of the tree species in evergreen and deciduous forest types, respectively are, non-timber forest product yielding tree species, indicating potential high levels of supply of products to communities. Community dependence on non-timber forest products is significant, and it contributes to Rs. 1199 and Rs. 3561/household in the evergreen and deciduous zones, respectively. Given that the bulk of the forest grids in Uttara Kannada district are projected to undergo change, bulk of the species which provide multiple forest products are projected to experience die back and even mortality. Incorporation of climate change projections and impacts in forest planning and management is necessary to enable forest ecosystems to enhance resilience.

Transportation is gradually changing into the era of V2X and autonomous cars. Accurate judgement of traffic conditions is an important indicator of route choice or autonomous driving. There are many ways to use probes car such as taxis, as a way to identify accurate traffic conditions. These methods may vary depending on the characteristics of the probe vehicle, and there is a problem with the cost. The V2X vehicle can solve these problems and collect traffic information in real time. If all vehicles are of V2X vehicle, these issues are expected to be resolved briefly. However, if the communication information of a V2X vehicle is represented by a traffic representative in a traffic with only V2X, the traffic information of some V2X vehicles will be able to collect traffic information. To accomplish this, a virtual network and transport were created and various scenarios were performed through SUMO simulations. It has been analyzed that 3-5 % of V2 vehicles are capable of representative the road traffic characteristics. In the future, various follow-up studies are planned.

Background: Scid.adh is a recently developed murine thymic lymphoma cell line, which has been used as in vitro model for the study of double negative stage III thymocytes. In this study, we compared the expression profile of a number of genes and proteins, which are tightly related to T cell development and apoptosis, in thymic lymphoma cell lines, R1.1, EL-4, and Scid.adh for the developmental staging. Methods: We examined the expression of development marker genes and proteins in three lymphoma cell lines by flow cytometry and RT-PCR. In addition, the expression of apoptosis-related molecules including bcl-2, bax and Fas was also investigated. Results: As previously reported, Scid.adh cell line expressed CD8 and CD25 but not TCR ${\alpha}$ chain, while R1.1 cells expressed TCR ${\alpha}$ chain and both CD4 and CD8 transcripts. These suggest that R1.1 might be in double positive stage, and low level of CD44 expression and the absence of CD25 support this suggestion. In contrast, EL-4 cells showed high level of TCR ${\alpha}$ chain transcript, and low-level of CD4 expression, suggesting that EL-4 is in more mature stage than R1.1. Further, this suggestion was supported by the lack of mT-20 in EL-4 cells, which is expressed in the immature thymocytes, and Scid.adh and R1.1 cell lines, but not in the terminally differentiated thymocytes and peripheral T cells. Among the apoptosis-related gene, transcripts of bcl-2 gene were detected in both R1.1 and EL-4 but not in Scid.adh cells, while bax was expressed in all cell lines. Fas expression was the highest in EL-4 cells and low in Scid.adh cell line. Conclusion: R1.1 cell may represent double positive stage, and EL-4 is more differentiated cell line. In addition, Scid.adh and EL-4 cell lines are suspected to be useful for the study of function of bcl-2 family and Fas during the thymocyte development, respectively.
