This paper presents a preform design method that combines the analytic method and inference of known knowledge with neural network. The analytic method is a finite element method that is used to simulate backward extrusion with pre-defined process parameters. The multi-layer network and back-propagation algorithm are utilized to learn the training examples from the simulation results. The design procedures are utilized to learn the training examples from the simulation results. The design procedures are two methods the first the neural network infer the deformed shape from the pre-defined processes parameters. The other the network infer the processes parameters from deformed shape. Especially the latest method is very useful to design the preform From the desired feature it is possible to determine the processes parameters such as friction stroke and tooling geometry. The proposed method is useful for shop floor to decide the processes parameters and preform shapes for producing sound product.

In this paper, we develop a co-design methodology of stochastic optimal controllers and network parameters that optimizes the overall quality of control (QoC) in networked control systems (NCSs). A new dynamic model for NCSs is provided. The relationship between the system stability and performance and the sampling frequency is investigated, and the analysis of co-design of control and network parameters is presented to determine the working range of the sampling frequency in an NCS. This optimal sampling frequency range is derived based on the system dynamics and the network characteristics such as data rate, time-delay upper bound, data-packet size, and device processing time. With the optimal sampling frequency, stochastic optimal controllers are designed to improve the overall QoC in an NCS. This co-design methodology is a useful rule of thumb to choose the network and control parameters for NCS implementation. The feasibility and effectiveness of this co-design methodology is verified experimentally by our NCS test bed, a ball magnetic-levitation (maglev) system.

In this research. we have proposed a new technique to determine .the combination of design parameters for the process design of a hot forged product using artificial neural network(ANN) and statistical design of experiments(DOE). The investigated problem involves the adequate selection of the aspect ratio of billet, the ram velocity and the friction factor as design parameters. An optimal billet satisfying the forming limitation, die filling, load and energy as well as more uniform distribution of effective strain, is determined by applying the ability of artificial neural network and considering the analysis of mean and variation on the functional requirement. This methodology will be helpful in designing and controlling parameters on the shop floor which would yield the best design solution.
In this paper, we design a nonlinear adaptive controller using wavelet neural network. The method proposed in this paper performs for a nonlinear system with unknown parameters, identification with using a wavelet neural network, and then a nonlinear adaptive controller is designed with those identified informations. The advantage of the proposed control method is simple to design a controller for unknown nonlinear systems, because we use the identified informations and design parameters are positioned within a negative real part of s-plane. The simulation results showed the effectiveness of proposed controller design method.
In the past, designers relied primarily on past experience and reference to industry standard thresholds to design spaces. Such design often results in spaces that do not meet the needs of users. The purpose of this paper is to investigate the process and way of generating design parameters by constructing a BP neural network algorithm for spatial design. From the perspective. This paper adopts an experimental research method to take a kindergarten with a large number of complex needs in space as the object of study, and through the BP neural network algorithm in machine learning, the correlation between environmental behavior parameters and spatial design parameters is imprinted. The way of generating spatial design parameters is studied. In the future, the corresponding spatial design parameters can be derived by replacing specific environmental behavior influence factors, which can be applied to a wider range of scenarios and improve the efficiency of designers.

Recently, SDN and NFV technology have been developed actively and provide enormous flexibility of network provisioning. The future network services would generally involve many different types of services such as hologram games, social network live streaming videos and cloud-computing services, which have dynamic service requirements. To provision networks for future services dynamically and efficiently, SDN/NFV orchestrators must clearly understand the service requirements. Currently, network provisioning relies heavily on QoS parameters such as bandwidth, delay, jitter and throughput, and those parameters are necessary to describe the network requirements of a service. However it is often difficult for users to understand and use them proficiently. Therefore, in order to maintain interoperability and homogeneity, it is required to have a service abstraction layer between users and orchestrators. The service abstraction layer analyzes ambiguous user's requirements for the desired services, and this layer generates corresponding refined services requirements. In this paper, we present our initial effort to design a Smart Service Abstraction Layer (SmSAL) for future network architecture, which takes advantage of machine learning method to analyze ambiguous and abstracted user-friendly input parameters and generate corresponding network parameters of the desired service for better network provisioning. As an initial proof-of-concept implementation for providing viability of the proposed idea, we implemented SmSAL with a decision tree model created by learning process with previous service requests in order to generate network parameters related to various audio and video services, and showed that the parameters are generated successfully.

Precast Seismic Structural Systems (PRESSS) provided an iterative procedure for obtaining optimum design of unbonded post-tensioned coupled precast concrete wall systems. Although PRESSS procedure is effective, however, it is lengthy and laborious. The purpose of this research is to employ Artificial Neural Network (ANN) to predict the optimum design parameters for such wall systems while avoiding the demanding iterative process. The developed ANN model is very accurate in predicting the nondimensional optimum design parameters related to post-tensioning reinforcement area, yield force of shear connectors and ratio of moment resisted by shear connectors to the design moment. The Mean Absolute Percent Error (MAPE) for the test data for these design parameters is around %1 and the correlation coefficient is almost equal to 1.0. The developed ANN model is then used to study the effect of different design parameters on wall behavior. It is observed that the design moment and the concrete strength have the most influence on the wall behavior as compared to other parameters. Several design examples were presented to demonstrate the accuracy and effectiveness of the ANN model.

This paper presents the optimization technique for design of a CMAC network by using an evolution strategies(ES). The proposed technique is designed to find the optimal parameters of a CMAC network, which can minimize the learning error between the desired output and the CMAC network's as well as the number of memory used in the CMAC network. Computer simulations demonstrate the effectiveness of the proposed design method.

This paper presents a new method to automatically design fuzzy logic controller(FLC). The main problems of designing FLC are how to optimally and automatically select the control rules and the parameters of membership function (MF). Cell state space algorithms (CSS), differential competitive learning (DCL) and multialyer neural network are combined in this paper to solve the problems. When the dynamical model of a control process is known. CSS can be used to generate a group of optimal input output pairs(X, Y) used by a controller. The(X, Y) then can be used to determine the FLC rules by DCL and to determine the optimal parameters of MF by DCL and to determine the optimal parameters of MF by multilayer neural network trained by BP algorithm.

This paper presents an estimation technique of the equivalent circuit parameters for an underwater acoustic piezoelectric transducer from the measured impedance. Estimated equivalent circuit can be used for the design of the impedance matching network of the sonar transmitter. A fitness function is proposed to minimize the error between the calculated impedance of the equivalent circuit and the measured impedance of the transducer. The equivalent circuit parameters are estimated by using the fitness function and the PSO(Particle Swarm Optimization) algorithm. The effectiveness of the proposed method is verified by the applications to a sandwich-type transducer and a dummy load. In addition, the impedance matching network is also designed by using the estimated equivalent circuit model.
