The purpose of this study was to examine the relationship between the attachment of college students to parents and peers as intimate or major attachment objects and their self-regulated learning ability. To accomplish this, we conducted a survey with the parents-peer attachment scale and self-regulated learning scale. As a result, it was found that the relationship between their self-regulated learning ability and parents-peer attachment was significant, while the explicit goal-oriented variable as an essential factor in the regulation of their motivation was excluded. In addition, it was found that the effect of peer and mother attachment on their self-regulated learning ability was relatively high. On the other hand, two variables, viz. the test anxiety in motivation regulation and timing and studying regulation in behavior regulation, were heavily influenced by father attachment. These results could be interpreted in two ways. First, there could be a lower relationship between positive relations and comparative advantages and, second, these two items could be closely related to the negative factors in the relationship between father and child.
This study aims to present basic data for preventing drop-out intention by identifying the mechanisms in which academic stress affects drop-out intention through self-esteem, peer relationships, and grit in high school students. The subjects of the study were 283 high school students purposively selected from three cities and counties in Chungcheongnam-do. The data were analysed using SPSS PC+ Win. ver. 25.0 and SPSS PROCESS macro ver. 4.2. The applied statistical techniques were descriptive statistics, reliability analysis, correlation analysis, and moderated mediation effect analysis. As a result of the study, first, academic stress showed a positive correlation with the drop-out intention, but a negative correlation with self-esteem, grit, and peer relationship. Second, grit not only played a moderating role in enhancing the relationship between self-esteem and peer relationship, but also played a moderated mediating role in the path of academic stress → self-esteem → peer relationship → drop-out intention. It was confirmed that the academic stress of high school students has a direct effect on the drop-out intention, and that self-esteem, peer relationships, and grit can be used as important factors to prevent the school drop-out.
This study examined the mediating effects of life satisfaction on the relationship between parent attachment, peer attachment, and depression among Korean out-of-school youths. The study participants of 145 out-of-school youths derived from 5th Panel Survey of School Dropouts. To analyze the collected data, descriptive statistics, Pearson's correlation, and path analysis conducted by using SPSS 26.0 and AMOS 26.0. Parent attachment directly related to life satisfaction. Peer attachment directly related to life satisfaction and to depression. Life satisfaction had a significant negative relationship to depression. Parent attachment (𝛽=-.23, p=.006, 95% CI: -0.33~-0.12) and peer attachment (𝛽=-.18, p=.002, 95% CI: -0.31~-0.08) had indirect effects on depression through mediating life satisfaction. Results of this study indicate that we will discuss implications for possible policies and programs to help out-of-school youth successfully integrate a satisfying life and safely improve depression.
The aim of this study is having the status, knowledge and attitude of the high school attendees toward smoking be analyzed, helping to make effective health education methods to diminish adolescent smoking habits. The field self-questionnaire investigation has been performed from Oct 10th through 23rd in 1999. The whole 427 cases were distributed to 1st and 2nd grade students of randomly selected men's high school in Seoul. And 414 cases (97%) were finally selected for analysis after exclusion of cases with insufficient information. The main contents of questionnaire are composed of several sectors; the general characteristics of the interviewees, the relationship with parents, the life style and the peer relationship in school. And smoking-related characteristics are taken into consideration, too. The major findings of the study are as follows: The smoking/non-smoking related factors are, in socio-demographical terms, the grade, average spending per month of the interviewees. And the degree of satisfactory relationship with parents is significant on smoking behavior. The higher, the degree of satisfaction on school life and relationship with designated teacher, the more chances of non-smoking habit. Poor academic grades and peer group dependability of interviewees cause higher smoking habit rate in other way. The self-interviewees grade and cohabitation with parents are also significant on both the attitude toward smoking habit and the knowledge on smoking statistically. The academic history and vocations of the parents and the academic grades of interviewees are also effective variables, but don't make any gap between groups knowledge on smoking. Smoking groups used to have positive attitude toward smoking habit. Both the attitude and knowledge on smoking by the consideration of Quit-smoking have statistically significance. The groups which have negative attitude and high knowledge on smoking quit-smoking into consideration. And the primary cause of quit-smoking is on health by smoking. Depression, stress, adult smoking in the house, peer group pressure, cigarettes advertisements on papers and magazines and smoking scenes on TV have positive correlation on forming smoking habit (p〈0.001) But the knowledge on diseases triggered by smoking has negative correlation on forming smoking habit. (p〈0.05, p〈0.001). Social factors as monthly spending, relationship and communication with parents, the degree of satisfaction in school life, academic grades and student-teacher relationship have crucial negative correlation on smoking habit. That is to say, the higher, the monthly spending is, the worse, the relationship with parents and teachers is, the lower, the academic grades of the student is, the percentage of the interviewees who have smoking habit seems to get higher.

Second, parents and peer relationship stress had significant negative influence on happiness. Third, help seeking attitude toward parents and teacher among the sub-factors of help seeking attitude had a significant positive influence on happiness. Fourth, the relationship between parental stress and happiness showed a significant mediating effect on parents and teacher attitude toward help. The relationship between teacher stress and happiness showed a significant mediating effect on teacher attitude toward help. The relationship between peer relationship stress and happiness had no mediating effect of attitude toward help. Based on these results, we discussed the importance of attitude toward help in the relationship between stress and elementary school students' happiness.
Purpose: The purpose of this study was to investigate factors influencing internet addiction proneness and condition of internet use in higher grade students at an elementary school. Method: The subjects consisted of 234 sixth grade students at an elementary school in Gyeonggido. SPSS/Win18.0 was used for analysis of data. Results: Among the subjects, 51.3% had used the internet for more than three years, 89.3% used the internet in their home, and 38.5% used the internet for games. In internet addition proneness, 3.1% were potential risk users and 1.3% were high risk users. Internet addiction proneness differed significantly according to gender, period of internet use, internet access location, and purpose of internet use. Internet addiction proneness showed negative correlation with protective factors and positive correlation with risk factors. The factors affecting the internet addiction proneness were degree of internet use, peer protective factor(support from peer), personal protective factor(self-control), internet access location, and family risk factor(negative communication). These factors accounted for 32.9% of internet addiction proneness. Conclusion: Strategies are needed for improvement of the relationship with the peer group and family communication and to encourage self-control for prevention of internet addiction in elementary school students in community mental health service.
This research attempted to identify factors associated with SNS peer bullying and analyzed the moderating effect of moral disengagement in the relationship between peer conformity and SNS peer bullying. We used multiple regression analysis to test our hypotheses. Results indicated that antisocial peer conformity is positively related with SNS peer-bullying. The effect of antisocial conformity on SNS peer-bullying was higher for those who have higher moral disengagement. Based on these results, this study suggests providing educational programs that target moral disengagement as a strategy to decrease the negative role of antisocial conformity on SNS peer-bullying.

Recently, purchasing expensive branded apparel became prevalent among adolescents as they consume conspicuously. People in their adolescence strongly tend to follow peers and are very likely to pay attention to how they wear look to others. Already a good deal of prior research about young people's conspicuous consumption have focused on variables related to these behaviors. The purpose of this study is to examine demographic characteristics of adolescents who show a conspicuous consumption and factors affecting this consumption which is related to peer relations. And we will examine how negative emotions arisen out of relations influence teenagers' conspicuous consumption of branded apparels ultimately. Being out of favor from peers has an effect on anxiety which is negative emotion in association with peer relations. According to the survey, adolescents did conspicuous consumption following others or following trends to get rid of anxiety. Also, if appears to be acting on clothing consumption as a means not to be marginalized. All these findings are expected to be useful information to adolescents to have a better habit of consumption life, and also anticipated to be valuable information for consumer behavior education. The cause of youth's show-off behavior, which is still incomplete in identity formation and immature in choice and judgement, will have to be analyzed and countermeasures taken against it.
