  • Purpose: Social Network Sites(SNS) have been grown up as a public communication channel consumer frequently participate in. Most of food service brands are utilizing social media for advertising recently. As a result of SNS marketing, food service brands anticipate positive outputs from SNS engagement and consumer brand engagement so that we need to verify structural relationship among SNS characteristics, SNS engagement and consumer brand engagement. Research design, data, and methodology: This study identifies that SNS characteristics have effects on SNS engagement and examines relationship between SNS engagement and behavioral engagement. We conceptualize SNS characteristics as information quality, hedonic level and interaction. Furthermore, SNS engagement is composed of SNS participation, positive word of mouth(WOM). In order to verify the purposes of this research, research model and hypotheses were developed. All constructs were measured with multiple items developed and tested in the previous studies. Sample data were collected from 433 online survey panels and analyzed by using SmartPLS 3.2.9. Result: The findings of this research are as follows. First, information quality is positively related with SNS participation. Hedonic level and interaction have impacts on SNS participation and positive WOM respectively. Second, SNS participation has positive effects on positive WOM. Third, both SNS participation and WOM influence behavioral engagement respectively. Conclusions: The implications demonstrate that SNS characteristics such as information quality and hedonic level and interaction exert effects for consumer to participate in SNS brand page. Meanwhile, hedonic level and interaction influence on positive WOM but information quality doesn't. SNS participation and positive WOM affect consumer to engage in specific brand behaviorally as well. Therefore, food service brand marketer is required to manage SNS information quality and hedonic level and interaction among members to encourage SNS participation and positive WOM. As SNS participation and positive WOM increases behavioral engagement of consumer, marketer needs to incentivize SNS participation and look after situation of positive WOM and respond swiftly.

  • In order to reduce trial-and-errors in the die design and production, CAE systems for analysis of stamping tools have been introduced at the initial design stage recently. For optimal design, the CAE engineers may need to correct the meshes generated by automatic mesh generation programs. However, they may need help of CAD engineers as they are usually not skilled in manipulation of CAD systems. In order to get around these problems, automatic shell mesh modification method is proposed, which utilizes existing CAD/CAE package (in this study, I-DEAS) without user interaction. The developed method and optimization techniques are applied to a stamping die rounding optimization problem. The optimization results show that the manpower and the time required at virtual tryout can be reduced by using the developed systems.

  • The objective of this paper is to propose a method of how to perform risk assessment in the early stage of defense research and development for the acquisition of weapon systems. An advanced method for risk assessment and its associated objective functions are developed first based on the concept of systems engineering. The developed method is then applied to carry out the analysis of alternatives in the trade-off environments. As a case study, the multi-purpose training ship is considered, where it is performed using the notions of technology readiness levels, degrees of difficulty, and technology need values to facilitate design space visualization and decision maker interaction. It is noted that decision makers can benefit from our approach as an improved risk assessment method in the context of multi-criteria decision making.

  • We introduce Adaptive Fuzzy Impedance Controller for position and force control when robot contact with environment. Because Robot and environment was always effected by nonlinear conditions, it need to deal with parameter’s uncertainty. For solving this problem, it induced Fuzzy System in Impedance Control so fuzzy system is impedance’s stiffness gain. We apply adaptive fuzzy impedance controller in One-Link Robot System, it shows the good performance on desired position control and force control about contacting with arbitrarily environment.

  • In this study, it is suggested that it has to reliability-based design methodology with respect to bridge structure-rail longitudinal interaction and bridge structure-vehicle interaction. For the structural analysis, commercial package, ABAQUS, are used for a three-dimensional finite element analysis. The optimization process utilizes a well-known optimizer, ADS(Automated Design Synthesis). Optimization technique is utilized the ALM-BFGS method for global area search and Golden Section Method for 1-D search. In general, ALM-BFGS method don't need the 1-D search, and that algorithm converge a 0.1~0.2 of Push-Off factor. But in this study, value of Push-Off factor is used 90, therefore 1-D search should be needed for effective convergency. That algorithm contains the "heuristic decision method". As a result of optimum design of 2-main steel girder birdge with 5${\times}$(1@50m), design methodology suggested in this study was demonstrated more economic and efficient than existing design and LCC optimization not considering bridge-rail longitudinal interaction and bridge-vehicle interaction.

  • Accurate and fast haptic simulations of deformable objects are desired in many applications such as medical virtual reality. In haptic interactions with a coarse model, the number of nodes near the haptic interaction region is too few to generate detailed deformation. Thus, local refinement techniques need to be developed. Many approaches have employed purely geometric subdivision schemes, but they are not proper in describing the deformation behavior of deformable objects. This paper presents a continuum mechanics-based finite element adaptive method to perform haptic interaction 'with a deformable object. This method superimposes a local fine mesh upon a global coarse model, which consists of the entire deformable object. The local mesh and the global mesh are coupled by the s-version finite element method (s-FEM), which is generally used to enhance accurate solutions near the target points even more. The s-FEM can demonstrate a reliable deformation to users in real-time.

  • For natural human-robot interaction, we need to know location and shape of facial feature in real environment. In order to track facial feature robustly, we can use the method combining particle filter and active appearance model. However, processing speed of this method is too slow. In this paper, we propose two ideas to improve efficiency of this method. The first idea is changing the number of particles situationally. And the second idea is switching the prediction model situationally. Experimental results is presented to show that the proposed method is about three times faster than the method combining particle filter and active appearance model, whereas the performance of the proposed method is maintained.

  • We show that the minimum EOP (eye-opening penalty) obtained by tunable dispersion compensation is a function of a figure of merit for a nonlinear process, $I_0L_{eff}$, where $I_0$ is the optical intensity and $L_{eff}$ is the effective length of the interaction region. Using this rule, we do not need to conduct nonlinear simulations in all the cases of signal power and transmission length to obtain the signal distortion in dispersion-managed optical transmission. Instead, we need to conduct a simulation in only one case of a signal power and find the functional relation, and then we can obtain the values of the signal distortion in other cases using the discovered functional relation. This technique can reduce the number of nonlinear simulations to less than 10%.
