Development of Life Cycle Cost Estimation Software on the Aspect of Maintenance Strategies (유지보수관점에서의 수명주기비용예측 소프트웨어 개발)

  • Life cycle costing is one of the most effective cost approaches when we choose a solution from series of alternative so the least long-term cost ownership is achieved. Life cycle costing in railway industry has been focused on the prediction of investment for railway vehicles. But in today, the life cycle cost, LCC, prediction on the aspect of operation and maintenance cost through whole life cycle is highly necessary. In this paper, we present a strategy for the development of life cycle cost estimation software on the aspect of maintenance strategies of railway vehicle. For this purpose, we suggested a structure of LCC software based on the UNIFE LCC model. And we developed a pilot version of software to evaluate the LCC model that we suggested for railway vehicle. We performed LCC analysis on the brake module of metro vehicle in case study and concluded that the software and model developed in this research could enough to support engineers in choosing better cost effective solutions from many alternatives.

  • Nowadays, 60 percent of thermal power plants already have been operated over their own design life. These operations of old power plant over their design life have caused a fracture accident of degradation a loss of economic and human. Therefore, the new life assessment and prediction technology is necessary to improve the safety and reliability of high pressure and high temperature power plant facilities. In this paper, innovative electrochemical test method have been used and results have been compared to the conventional test. Finally, the electrochemical test is applied to the in-field HP turbine and a database is currently in progress for the development of the life assessment standard and procedure.

  • Zhang thinks human life consists of body(形) and Shen(神 spirit). Body comes from Jing(精), Shen comes from Qi(氣). The common basic of body and Shen is Qi. Thus the elements of human life are Jing, Qi and Shen. Among the three life elements, Jing is the lowest level. To preserve Jing is the key to Life Care. To preserve Jing, we should rest body and Shen, and Shen rules body, so to rest Shen is necessary to preserve Jing. When Jing is full, it converts to Qi, and Qi converts to Shen. Shen is ruled by mind(心), so mind sould be quiet. There is a gate through which Jing and Qi pass. It is called Mingmen(命門), and it sould be closed tight to preserve Jing.

The Effects of Role Type on the Life Satisfaction of the Elderly in Rural Areas (농촌 노인의 역할유형이 생활만족도에 미치는 영향)

  • The purpose of this study was to investigate the role types that affect the life satisfaction of the elderly in rural areas. The research subjects were 1,000 people aged 65 years and over living in the rural areas of Korea. The data were analyzed using frequency analysis, descriptive statistics, and multiple regression analysis. The results of the study were as follows: First, as a result of substituting the role of rural elderly people into the role type of Rosow, the family role was drastically decreased, the health and self-management roles were increased and the social role was not changed much. In other words, the role type of the rural elderly supported the hypothesis proposed by Rosow. Second, life satisfaction was affected by monthly living expenses, social role, educational level, gender, farm, and religion. In order to improve the life satisfaction of the rural elderly, it is necessary to build programs and infrastructures that can play social roles in rural areas.

  • This study was conducted to explore the relationship between stress and the quality of life experienced by people with disabilities and to provide essential data for improving their quality of life and promoting their health. The data collection period was from November 2023 to January 2024. Fifty questionnaires were distributed, and 48 copies were used, excluding unfaithful responses. As a result of the study, since people with moderate disabilities show hesitancy in all of their daily life processes, not only physical rehabilitation but also psychological rehabilitation should be necessary so that they can accept their bodies that have turned into disabilities. In addition, programs for the acceptance of disabilities for people with moderate disabilities should be designed to recover more widely. In the future, education and psychological programs should be activated to overcome the symptoms of moderate disability and receive related information. Finally, disability awareness education should be further subdivided to bring about changes in the perception of disabilities.

  • The Purpose of this study was firstly to identify the living characteristics of apartment residents in relation to the behavioral patterns in the kitchen and utility space and secondly to present the basic material necessary for planning the kitchen and utility space of future desirable apartments with consideration for resident usage. The findings are summarized as follows : 1) Behavioral patterns in the kitchen and utility space were classified as personal life, family with harmony, talking with visitors, caring for children, cleaning, cooking, and keeping and connecting. 2) Behavioral patterns in He kitchen and utility space showed patterns on personal life, family with harmony, and talking with visitors and were used in the kitchen including the dining room. 3) As the required kitchen size and sink arrangement varied according to the kinds of furniture appliance, plan for the kitchen wok is very necessary.

A Study on Revision Method of Historical Fault Data Considering Maintenance Effect to Use Proportional Aging Reduction(PAR) (PAR기법을 이용하여 유지보수 영향을 고려한 고장 데이터의 보정기법에 관한 연구)

  • This paper suggests a revision method for historical fault data using Proportional Aging Reduction(PAR) to consider maintenance effect in time-varying failure rate. In order to product time-varying failure rate, the historical fault data are necessary. However, the maintenance record could be left out in historical data by spot operator's mistake. In this case, the failure rate is produced less than the average failure rate for increasing equipments' life-time by maintenance effect. Hence, it is necessary for new time-varying failure rate to extract maintenance effect from the existing fault data. In this paper, the revision method to reduce equipments' life-time, adversely using PAR among three techniques to consider maintenance effect.

Finite Element Analysis of Strain and Residual Stress in Weld Specimen (용접시편 변형률 및 잔류응력의 유한요소해석)

  • This paper consists of two parts. One is finite element analysis of the redistribution of residual stresses of weld specimen by cutting. This work is necessary to predict the actual residual stress distribution of weld specimens used in fatigue test. The other subject is to calculate the relaxation of residual stress and the strain field induced by cyclic loading. To obtain fatigue life of weldment, the value of strain amplitude at each position is necessary, for example in the strain-life approach, and the numerical results can be used to verify experimental strain measurements. Thermo mechanical finite element analyses were conducted on the commercial package ABAQUS.

  • The government supports the various systems on the premise of life-long education for improving the qualification of its people and supporting the lifelong career system. These systems help the educational activities for every generation from the teens. Each government department supports the learning activities for those who are related. In addition, each government department systemizes the regular education for advancing the performance of civil servant, by obliging a self-directed system to their member as well as by reflecting this educational activities in a promotion. This style of learning is provided not only offline but also online. However, not all necessary educational contents is furnished within the department. It is sometimes necessary to cooperate with the commissioned education and a professional educational institution. This thesis suggests three model systems while comparing one another. This paper suggests three system model. The first model is e-contents open place. The second model is e-contents open place. Finally, the suggest model is mixed form.
