  • The aim of this study was designed to determine the induction of rat growth hormone(rGH) by extracts of a popular herb, Glycyrrhizae radix(GR), roots of Glycyrrhiza glabra $\sub$Linne/, and Glycyrrhiza uralensis $\sub$Fischer/. In vitro study was carried out using primary rat pituitary cell culture for 3 days and then was treated with methanol extract corresponding to 1 mg of dried weight of herb per 1 $m\ell$ of culture solution. 미더덕 껍질과 PVA를 혼합한 재료로부터 제조한 복합섬유의 제법과 성질(I) (Preparation and Properties of Regenerated Composite Fibers made from Styela Clava Tunics/PVA Blending(I))

  • Regenerated composite fibers are prepared from solution(styela clava tunics /poly vinyl alchol) using N-methylmorpholine-N-oxide(NMMO)/water(87/13)(wt/wt) as a solvent by dry-wet spinning. The chemical cellulose (94%, ${\alpha}$-cellulose content) used for this study is extracted from styela clava tunics (SCT, Midduck), which are treated in chemical process and mechanical grinding. The structure and physical properties of regenerated composite fibers were investigated through IR-spetra, DSC, TGA and SEM. The optimal blend ratio of SCT/PVA for spinning solution was 70/30 and the total weight was 4% concentrations in NMMO/water solvent system. The fiber density, moisture contents and the degree of swelling were $1.5(g/cm^3)$ 10.2(%) and 365(%), respectively. The crystallinity index of composite fibers are decreased as the PVA contents increased. Thermal decomposition of composite fibers took place in two stages at around $250^{\circ}C$ and $550^{\circ}C$. The best thermal stability was obtained with 30% PVA contents.

  • Korea dairy industry has a long and chronic problems to consume raw milk , those are surplus milk and decline the market milk consumption continued about 10 years. This study was aim to propose and to find the solution for dairy industry problems. After WTO system, with the importation of dairy products, domestic milk production has fell into the situation of excess supply and huge inventory of dried milk, the milk powder stocks have increased since 2002. That made a chronic decline milk consumption in Korea. The core of chronic problem of Korea dairy industry is the decreasing in market milk consumption. If they have a settlement of any other way using their raw milk to process and consumption to market milk, there will be a solution to solve the chronic problems in this situation. Especially, that will be a development of small farm scale natural cheese production and consume. This may be lead a situation of increase the raw milk consumption, because natural cheese making needs much of raw milk more than market milk. But there are very low technical level of farmers cheese making status, so they need a cheese making educational program for their commercial level of cheese products. Under these situation, there are needed a way out of educational system for the dairy farmers to obtain the high level of cheese making technology from the trustable and scientific organization. The natural cheese making technique of dairy farmers should be accumulated to get the consumers' solid recognition of high quality of natural cheese as LOHAS(Lifestyle Of Health And Sustainability) foods.

천연 Zeollte로부터 열수합성에 의한 주상 Na-P Zeolite합성 (Synthesis of Columnar Na-P Zeolite by Hydrothermal Process from Natural Zeolite of Korea)

  • 본 연구는 천연 zeolite를 파쇄하여 일정크기의 입제를 생산하는 과정에서 부산물로 생산되는 다량의 미분을 이용하여 양이온치환용량이 높은 입상의 흡착제를 개발할 목적으로 수행하였다. 천연 zeolite를 알카리 용액의 열수합성법을 활용하여 Na-P zeolite로 전환시켰다. 반응시간별 합성과정 중 광물학적 특성 변화를 X-선회절, 주사전자현미경, 화학조성 및 CEC의 변화를 통하여 구명하였다. 주상 Na-P zeolite의 입단은 천연 zeolite-숯혼합물을 약 3 mm 두께로 압축성형한 후 열처리하였으며, 연속적인 3 M NaOH 처리로 천연 zeolite의 주요구성광물인 climoptile, moderite, 장석 등의 광물이 파괴되고 새로이 구형의 Na-P zeolite가 24시간 처리에서 관찰되었다. 반응시간이 증가함에 따라 잔류용액 중 Si/AI비는 감소하였으며, 입단 크기의 증가에도 불구하고 Na-P zeolite의 CEC는 출발물질로 사용된 미분의 천연 zeolite에 비하여 2배 이상 증가하였다.

유기 수경재배 시 천연배지 조성에 의한 명월초 생육 및 항산화 활성 (Growth and Antioxidant Activity of Gynura procumbens by Natural Media Composition in Hydroponic Cultivation Using Organic Nutrient Solution)

  • 본 연구는 2018년 충북 괴산군 유기농업연구소에서 노지재배의 단점을 보완할 수 있는 수경재배 기술의 일환으로 명월초 유기 수경재배 시 천연배지 종류가 생육에 미치는 영향을 조사하여 최적의 천연배지를 선발하고자 수행하였다. 실험에 사용한 유기양액은 생육증 진용 유기농자재로 등록된 시판자재 34종을 성분 분석한 후 2종을 혼합하여 사용하였으며, pH 5.5~6.5, EC 0.5~1.0 ds/m로 5월 20일부터 1일 1회, 회 당 50 L씩 점적관수(Ø13 mm, Nam Kyung Co.)를 이용하여 처리하였다. 명월초 정식 후 5월~6월 중순까지 배지별 근권의 최저 온도는 코코피트가 포함된 배지의 최저온도가 다른 배지에 비해 높은 경향을 나타내었으며, 상대적으로 펄라이트가 포함된 배지의 최저온도가 다른 배지에 비해 낮은 경향을 나타내었다. 혼합배지를 제외한 단용 배지별 최저온도는 코코피트 배지가 가장 높게 나타났으며, 그 다음이 버미큘라이트 배지, 펄라이트 배지가 가장 낮게 나타났다. 명월초 정식 후 50일의 천연배지 조성에 따른 초기 생육특성(초장, 엽수, 엽장, 엽폭)은 버미큘라이트 배지에서 가장 우수하게 나타났다. 천연배지 조성별 명월초 수량은 버미큘라이트 배지와 코코피트 : 버미큘라이트 : 펄라이트(2:1:1) 혼합배지가 가장 우수하게 나타났다. 주요 항산화 성분인 총 폴리페놀의 함량은 버미큘라이트 배지에서 1.45 mg g-1으로 가장 높게 나타났다. 따라서, 천연배지 조성에 따른 명월초 생육, 수량 및 총 폴리페놀 함량 등을 비교했을 때 버미큘라이트 단용 배지가 유기 수경재배 시 천연배지로 적합할 것으로 판단된다.

Exact solution for forced torsional vibration of finite piezoelectric hollow cylinder

  • An exact solution is obtained for forced torsional vibration of a finite class 622 piezoelectric hollow cylinder with free-free ends subjected to dynamic shearing stress and time dependent electric potential at both internal and external surfaces. The solution is first expanded in axial direction with trigonometric series and the governing equations for the new variables about radial coordinate r and time t are derived with the aid of Fourier series expansion technique. By means of the superposition method and the separation of variables technique, the solution for torsional vibration is finally obtained. Natural frequencies and the transient torsional responses for finite class 622 piezoelectric hollow cylinder with free-free ends are computed and illustrated.

Accurate semi-analytical solution for nonlinear vibration of conservative mechanical problems

  • In this paper, it has been tried to propose a new semi analytical approach for solving nonlinear vibration of conservative systems. Hamiltonian approach is presented and applied to high nonlinear vibration systems. Hamiltonian approach leads us to high accurate solution using only one iteration. The method doesn't need any small perturbation and sufficiently accurate to both linear and nonlinear problems in engineering. The results are compared with numerical solution using Runge-Kutta-algorithm. The procedure of numerical solution are presented in detail. Hamiltonian approach could be simply apply to other powerfully non-natural oscillations and it could be found widely feasible in engineering and science.

Elasto-plastic solution for cavity expansion problem in anisotropic and drained soil mass

  • This study presents an elasto-plastic (EP) solution for drained cavity expansion on the basis of unified strength failure criterion and considers the influence of initial stress state. Because of the influence of initial consolidation of soil mass, the initial stress may be anisotropic in the natural soil mass. In addition, the undrained hypothesis is usually used in the calculation of cavity expansion problem, but most of the cases are in the drained situation in practical engineering. Eventually, the published solution and the presented solution are compared to verify the suitability of the study.

괴화의 염색성에 관한 연구 (The Study on the Mordanting and Dyeing Properties of Sophora Japonica L.)

  • This paper surveys the mordanting and dyeing properties of Sophora japonica L. Appropriate extraction, dyeing and mordanting condition of Sophora japonica L. were determined, and the effect of mordanting method on dye uptake and color fastness of dyed fabric was investigated. The maximum absorbance of Sophora japonica L. solution was 367.6mn, rutin solution was 365.6mn. The color of Sophora japonica L. solution was affected at pH 2 and pH 8~9. The optimum temperature to extract Sophora japonica L. was during 1 hour in 8$0^{\circ}C$. The effective dyeing temperature and time of silk were 10$0^{\circ}C$, 60min. K/S value of dyeing fabrics was increased by pre-mordanting treatment, especially Fe, Sn, Cr. In the case of Sophora japonica L. light fastness was increased by Fe mordanting. Perspiration fastness was better in acidic solution than that in alkaline solution. Fastness to rubbing and dry-cleaning were good in general.

The Effect of Molecular Weight on the Gelation Behavior of Regenerated Silk Solutions

  • The various molecular weight (MW) regenerated silk fibroins were prepared with different dissolution condition and the effect of MW on the gelation behavior of regenerated aqueous silk fibroin (SF) solution was investigated. The result of gelation time measurement indicated that the gelation of SF aqueous solution was accelerated by the increase of MW and SF concentration. When formic acid was added in SF aqueous solution, the gelation time of SFL and SFC30 aqueous solution showed a significant decreaseat 0.03% formic acid addition. In case of the lowest MW sample, SFC180, SF molecules became aggregated and precipitated without gelation after 28 days storage time. These findings indicate that MW control of SF can be utilized to control the gelation time of SF aqueous solution.
