How have retailers led the HMR industry in Japan and UK?

  • Purpose: This study is aiming at providing researchers and practitioners with new insights to analyse how retailers have made a contribution to the growth of HMR market in Japan and UK. Research design: The second section will look at the definition of HMR, and then, introduce each county's case, while analysing how retailers have developed the HMR market and illustrating some implications. Finally, the authors will draw a conclusion. Results: Retailers have established the retailer brand development department with the sophisticated retail information system which has made a considerable contribution to the growth of the HMR market. Also, it enables retailers to accumulate retail knowledge associated with ready-to-eat meals and train top-level experts, whilst helping them to build the trustworthy supply chain relationships by sharing the POS data with food manufacturers. Consequently, the cooperation with food manufacturers has enhanced in the HMR market in both Japan and UK, on the basis of sophisticated delivery system as well as the concept of innovation into the HMR sector. Conclusions: Retailers have to benchmark Japanese and British retailers' Knowledge to grow ready meal market in Korea and invest their marketing resources in developing various HMR foods, on the basis of innovative thinking.

DEA를 이용한 국내 화물자동차 운송업의 상대적 효율성분석 (Relative Efficiency of Korea Trucking Transport Business Using DEA Model)

  • 국내 화물자동차운송업은 국가의 물류 기본산업임에도 불구하고 많은 문제점을 안고 있으며, 물류대란과 같은 국가적인 화물운송체계의 위기를 만들기도 하였다. 본 연구의 목적은 국내 화물자동차운송업의 효율성을 DEA기법으로 분석함으로써 벤치마킹의 대상이 될 수 있는 국내 화물자동차운송업을 분석하였으며, 비효율적인 기업이 개선시켜야하는 투사값을 제시함으로써 기업의 효율성을 위한 수치를 제공하고자 한다. 분석결과 총 30개 화물자동차운송업들의 CCR-I, BCC-I 효율성과 규모수익성(RTS)을 평가하였다. 또한 분석된 자료를 바탕으로 벤치마킹의 대상이 될 수 있는 화물자동차운송기업을 제시하였다. 분석결과 CCR-I효율성이 1인 업체는 7개 기업, BCC-I효율성이 1인 업체는 15개 기업으로 분석되었다. 규모수익성은 IRS가 16개의 기업, DRS가 5개 기업, CRS가 9개 기업으로 분석되었다.

데이터마이닝을 활용한 해군함정 수리부속 수요예측 (Naval Vessel Spare Parts Demand Forecasting Using Data Mining)

  • Recent development in science and technology has modernized the weapon system of ROKN (Republic Of Korea Navy). Although the cost of purchasing, operating and maintaining the cutting-edge weapon systems has been increased significantly, the national defense expenditure is under a tight budget constraint. In order to maintain the availability of ships with low cost, we need accurate demand forecasts for spare parts. We attempted to find consumption pattern using data mining techniques. First we gathered a large amount of component consumption data through the DELIIS (Defense Logistics Intergrated Information System). Through data collection, we obtained 42 variables such as annual consumption quantity, ASL selection quantity, order-relase ratio. The objective variable is the quantity of spare parts purchased in f-year and MSE (Mean squared error) is used as the predictive power measure. To construct an optimal demand forecasting model, regression tree model, randomforest model, neural network model, and linear regression model were used as data mining techniques. The open software R was used for model construction. The results show that randomforest model is the best value of MSE. The important variables utilized in all models are consumption quantity, ASL selection quantity and order-release rate. The data related to the demand forecast of spare parts in the DELIIS was collected and the demand for the spare parts was estimated by using the data mining technique. Our approach shows improved performance in demand forecasting with higher accuracy then previous work. Also data mining can be used to identify variables that are related to demand forecasting.

A Study of the Efficient Coordination of Logistic Distribution Centers for the China Project

  • Purpose - This paper discussed and illustrated the most efficient method to calculate the distribution centers for a national project in China. Through demonstration of implementing the GIS, spatial analysis, and location calculation model, this paper mainly dealt with the construction distribution problem and inconvenient supply of materials problems. Research design, data, and methodology - In this paper, the research design structure based on three steps: implementing the Geographic Information System to locate the points coordination data, calculating the distribution centers of the project, and optimizing the most efficient and effective coordination. The data of the calculation is from an actual project. The methodology of this paper is summarizing the spatial analysis capabilities and digital graphic data calculation to locate logistics distribution centers, and since the illustration of the calculation is useful for locating the coordination, the result of this paper has certain reference values for the project construction. Results - This paper illustrates the steel and cement resource of every distribution point to confirm the most efficient distribution center location coordination. Conclusions - The integrated logistical management models are used to ensure the results for the purposes of our calculation. The result of the calculation is also a useful example for future Chinese national projects.

국가연구개발조직에서의 CoP 운영특성과 CoP 성과와의 관계 연구 (CoP characteristics and performance in the National R&D Organizations)

  • CoP(Community of Practices)란 구성원간 새로운 정보 및 지식의 상호학습 및 문제해결방안을 모색하기 위해 활동하는 공동체를 지칭하는 것으로, 통상 학습공동체 또는 실천공동체 등으로 지칭된다. 연구개발조직은 통상 내부 구성원간의 상호학습은 물론 외부 전문가와의 정보교류 및 상호학습을 촉진하는 CoP 활성화를 토대로 구성원의 역량개발은 물론 해당 조직의 연구개발 성과를 향상시키려고 노력한다. 본 연구는 대전에 소재한 4개 국가연구개발조직의 151명 연구원을 대상으로 한 설문조사 결과를 바탕으로 응답자들이 참여한 CoP 운영특성과 해당 CoP 창출 성과와의 관계를 실증적으로 연구하고 있다. 실증연구 결과, 신규멤버 증대, 외부연계 도전적 풍토, 다양성지향 자율적 풍토와 같은 실질적인 CoP 운영특성이 CoP 성과에 긍정적 영향을 미치는 것으로 나타났다. 이에 비해 참가자수나 모임횟수와 같은 외형적 운영특성의 영향력은 유의성이 낮은 것으로 나타났다. 이 조사결과는 참여한 구성원의 역량개발은 물론 해당 조직의 성과 향상에 기여하는 CoP를 활성화 하기 위해 CoP의 수, 참가자 규모, 운영횟수와 같은 외형적 특성에만 치중하기보다, CoP의 운영내실화를 기하고, 창의적 조직풍토를 강화하는 노력이 보다 효과적일 수 있음을 시사한다.

키워드 자동 생성에 대한 새로운 접근법: 역 벡터공간모델을 이용한 키워드 할당 방법 (A New Approach to Automatic Keyword Generation Using Inverse Vector Space Model)

  • Recently, numerous documents have been made available electronically. Internet search engines and digital libraries commonly return query results containing hundreds or even thousands of documents. In this situation, it is virtually impossible for users to examine complete documents to determine whether they might be useful for them. For this reason, some on-line documents are accompanied by a list of keywords specified by the authors in an effort to guide the users by facilitating the filtering process. In this way, a set of keywords is often considered a condensed version of the whole document and therefore plays an important role for document retrieval, Web page retrieval, document clustering, summarization, text mining, and so on. Since many academic journals ask the authors to provide a list of five or six keywords on the first page of an article, keywords are most familiar in the context of journal articles. However, many other types of documents could not benefit from the use of keywords, including Web pages, email messages, news reports, magazine articles, and business papers. Although the potential benefit is large, the implementation itself is the obstacle; manually assigning keywords to all documents is a daunting task, or even impractical in that it is extremely tedious and time-consuming requiring a certain level of domain knowledge. Therefore, it is highly desirable to automate the keyword generation process. There are mainly two approaches to achieving this aim: keyword assignment approach and keyword extraction approach. Both approaches use machine learning methods and require, for training purposes, a set of documents with keywords already attached. In the former approach, there is a given set of vocabulary, and the aim is to match them to the texts. In other words, the keywords assignment approach seeks to select the words from a controlled vocabulary that best describes a document. Although this approach is domain dependent and is not easy to transfer and expand, it can generate implicit keywords that do not appear in a document. On the other hand, in the latter approach, the aim is to extract keywords with respect to their relevance in the text without prior vocabulary. In this approach, automatic keyword generation is treated as a classification task, and keywords are commonly extracted based on supervised learning techniques. Thus, keyword extraction algorithms classify candidate keywords in a document into positive or negative examples. Several systems such as Extractor and Kea were developed using keyword extraction approach. Most indicative words in a document are selected as keywords for that document and as a result, keywords extraction is limited to terms that appear in the document. Therefore, keywords extraction cannot generate implicit keywords that are not included in a document. According to the experiment results of Turney, about 64% to 90% of keywords assigned by the authors can be found in the full text of an article. Inversely, it also means that 10% to 36% of the keywords assigned by the authors do not appear in the article, which cannot be generated through keyword extraction algorithms. Our preliminary experiment result also shows that 37% of keywords assigned by the authors are not included in the full text. This is the reason why we have decided to adopt the keyword assignment approach. In this paper, we propose a new approach for automatic keyword assignment namely IVSM(Inverse Vector Space Model). The model is based on a vector space model. which is a conventional information retrieval model that represents documents and queries by vectors in a multidimensional space. IVSM generates an appropriate keyword set for a specific document by measuring the distance between the document and the keyword sets. The keyword assignment process of IVSM is as follows: (1) calculating the vector length of each keyword set based on each keyword weight; (2) preprocessing and parsing a target document that does not have keywords; (3) calculating the vector length of the target document based on the term frequency; (4) measuring the cosine similarity between each keyword set and the target document; and (5) generating keywords that have high similarity scores. Two keyword generation systems were implemented applying IVSM: IVSM system for Web-based community service and stand-alone IVSM system. Firstly, the IVSM system is implemented in a community service for sharing knowledge and opinions on current trends such as fashion, movies, social problems, and health information. The stand-alone IVSM system is dedicated to generating keywords for academic papers, and, indeed, it has been tested through a number of academic papers including those published by the Korean Association of Shipping and Logistics, the Korea Research Academy of Distribution Information, the Korea Logistics Society, the Korea Logistics Research Association, and the Korea Port Economic Association. We measured the performance of IVSM by the number of matches between the IVSM-generated keywords and the author-assigned keywords. According to our experiment, the precisions of IVSM applied to Web-based community service and academic journals were 0.75 and 0.71, respectively. The performance of both systems is much better than that of baseline systems that generate keywords based on simple probability. Also, IVSM shows comparable performance to Extractor that is a representative system of keyword extraction approach developed by Turney. As electronic documents increase, we expect that IVSM proposed in this paper can be applied to many electronic documents in Web-based community and digital library.

한국 전자무역의 글로벌 전략과 과제에 관한 연구 (A Study on the Global Strategy and Challenges of Paperless Trade in Korea)

  • Paperless trade is a new trade paradigm that has innovated on traditional trade procedures, which relied on manual work in the past, and applied an IT-based e-document standard. To realize paperless trade in Korea, a lot of efforts have been made. Korea has overcome many difficulties, a lack of awareness, trials and errors, etc. at the initial introduction stage and strived to establish a stable infrastructure through the government's policy support and active cooperation with the trade business communities and related organizations. Now, Korea became a well-known leader in IT industry, especially in the paperless trade infrastructure and strategic policies. The one-stop trading system named 'uTradeHub' is operated by a paperless trade service provider, Korea Trade Network(KTNET). uTradeHub includes trade finance and settlement, customs clearance and export and import logistics, improving trading procedures and reducing related expenses. Private-Public joint efforts from Korean government and private sectors which have respectively fulfilled their role and function with market-oriented practical policies and strategies has lead Korea a world leading country in paperless trade. Moreover, Korea expended its efforts to the global areas. Korea has started to activate multi-national paperless trade alliances such as PAA(Pan-Asia e-Commerce Alliance), ASEAL(Asia Europe Alliance for Paperless Trading) as well as established the bilateral cooperative networks with China and Taiwan. The one-stop trading system, uTradeHub should keep close cooperations between nations since trade itself is implemented in a cross-border ways. In the near future, it is expected uTradeHub can achieve best results in the simplification of procedures and cost savings when an international linkage is completely established with international cooperations.

강원지역 기업유치 활성화를 위한 지원제도의 개선방안에 관한 연구 (A study on improvement of Investment Incentive Acts for Attracting Companies in Gangwon)

  • 기업유치를 통한 안정적 경제성장과 일자리 창출은 지방자치단체에서 고려하는 중요한 정책적 과제이다. 기업은 지역의 입지여건을 고려하여 입지를 최종적으로 선택하게 된다. 그리고 지방자치단체는 상대적으로 불리한 입지여건을 극복하기 위하여 각종 인센티브를 기업유치 수단으로 활용하게 된다. 이러한 인센티브는 기업의 투자목적, 투자규모, 투자시기 등에 따라 상이하게 적용되어야 한다. 그러나 지자체에서는 동일한 법률체계 하에서 유사한 지원을 통해 유치활동을 전개하고 있다. 이로 인해 실질적인 투자유치 활동의 성과와 연계되지 못하는 것이 사실이다. 따라서 본 연구에서는 강원지역에 적합한 차별화된 지원제도의 도입방안을 도출하였다. 특히 물류 및 오폐수 처리 비용지원, 교육훈련보조금의 상향 조정 등 투자유치 지원제도의 구체적인 개선방안을 모색하였다.

준 슬라이딩 모드 제어를 이용한 선박의 종동요 및 횡동요 억제 (Suppression of Coupled Pitch-Roll Motions using Quasi-Sliding Mode Control)

  • 본 연구는 종방향과 횡방향에서 규칙파가 외란으로 입사하는 선박의 종동요 및 횡동요를 억제하는 문제를 다룬다. 선박의 안전 운항을 위해서 파랑 중 선박의 종동요 및 횡동요를 안정화시키는 것은 필수적인 과제로 여겨진다. 종동요 및 횡동요 거동에서 중요한 특징 중에 하나는 공진인데, 이 현상은 특정한 조건에서 예상치 못한 큰 응답을 초래한다. 종동요와 횡동요는 두 운동이 상호 결합되어 있고 복원항이 강한 비선형을 갖고 있음으로 계의 파라미터에 따라 다양한 동적 거동을 보이는 것이 중요한 특징인데, 특히 종동요에서 이 특성이 두드러지게 나타난다. 무엇보다, 선박의 조종성능 및 안전을 위해 선박의 종동요 가속도 응답을 완전히 억제하는 것은 상당히 도전적인 과제이다. 이 연구에서는 준 슬라이딩 모드 제어 기법을 이용하여 종동요와 횡동요를 줄임으로 파랑 중의 선박을 안정적인 직립 상태로 유지시키고, 아울러 채터링을 감소시키는 목적을 달성하였다. 리아프노프 이론으로 준 슬라이딩 모드 제어의 안정성을 판명하였고, 수치 시뮬레이션으로 제어 방식의 유효성을 증명하였다. 제시한 기법으로 종동요 및 횡동요 응답의 수렴 및 채터링 감소라는 두 가지 목표가 효과적으로 달성되었다.

사이버-물리 교차로 시스템에서 참조이동모형 기반 녹색신호 최적화 가속도 조언의 설계 및 구현 (Design and Implementation of Green Light Optimal Speed Advisory Based on Reference Mobility Models (GLOSA-RMM) in Cyber-Physical Intersection Systems (CPIS))

  • 본 논문에서는 교차로 주변의 고정된 위치에 있는 노변기지국과 WAVE/DSRC 기반 자동차통신단말, 그리고 스마트폰 앱을 긴밀하게 상호 연동하는 사이버-물리 교차로 시스템(CPIS)을 소개한다. CPIS 구조를 기반으로 교차로 정지시간과 연료소모를 줄이기 위한 참조이동모형 기반 녹색신호 최적화 속도조언(GLOSA-RMM)을 제안한다. GLOSA-RMM은 자동차의 다양한 참조이동모형들을 기반으로 자동차의 현재 위치/속도 정보와 교차로 교통신호 정보를 고려하여 적절한 속도조언을 결정하고, 이를 화면과 음성으로 동시에 제공하여 운전자의 부주의를 최소화한다. 임베디드 시스템 기반의 노변기지국과 자동차통신단말, 그리고 안드로이드 앱(App)의 개발을 통해 CPIS 시작품을 구축하고, 실차 환경에서 실험을 수행하여 GLOSA-RMM 알고리듬이 교차로 정지시간과 연료 소모를 줄일 수 있음을 보인다.
