  • Analysis of nonlinear stability behaviors of composite magneto-electro-elastic (MEE) nano-scale shells have been represented in this reaserch. The shell is assumed to be under a transverse mechanical load. Composite MEE material has been produced form piezoelectric and magnetic ingradients in which the material charactristics may be varied according to the percentages of the ingradients. The governing equations including scale effects have been developed in the framework of nonlocal elasticity. It has been demonstrated that nonlinear stability behaviors of MEE nano-sized shells in electrical-magnetic fields rely on the percentages of the ingradients. Also, the efficacy of nonlocality parameter, magnetic intensities and electrical voltages on stability loads of the nanoshells have been researched.

  • Buckling and post-buckling behaviors of geometrically perfect double-curvature shells made from smart composites have been investigated. The shell has been supposed to be exposed to transverse mechanical loading and magneto-electro-elastic (MEE) coupling. The composite shell has been made of two constituents which are piezoelectric and magnetic ingredients. Thus, the elastic properties might be variable based upon the percentages of the constituents. Incorporating small scale impacts in regard to nonlocal theory leads to the establishment of the governing equations for the double-curvature nanoshell. Such nanoshell stability will be shown to be affected by composite ingredients. More focus has been paid to the effects of small scale factor, electric voltage and magnetic intensity on stability curves of the nanoshell.

  • Geometrically nonlinear buckling of functionally graded magneto-electro-elastic (FG-MEE) nanoshells with the use of classical shell theory and nonlocal strain gradient theory (NSGT) has been analyzed in present research. Mathematical formulation based on NSGT gives two scale coefficients for simultaneous description of structural stiffness reduction and increment. Functional gradation of material properties is described based on power-law formulation. The nanoshell is under a multi-physical field related to applied voltage, magnetic potential, and mechanical load. Exerting a strong electric voltage, magnetic potential or mechanical load may lead to buckling of nanoshell. Taking into account geometric nonlinearity effects after buckling, the behavior of nanoshell in post-buckling regime can be analyzed. Nonlinear governing equations are reduced to ordinary equations utilizing Galerkin's approach and post-buckling curves are obtained based on an analytical procedure. It will be shown that post-buckling curves are dependent on nonlocal/strain gradient parameters, electric voltage magnitude and sign, magnetic potential magnitude and sign and material gradation exponent.

  • In this paper, the free vibrations of a short cylindrical nanotube made of piezoelectric material are studied based on the consistent couple stress theory and using the shear deformable cylindrical theory. This new model has only one length scale parameter and can consider the size effects of nanostructures in nanoscale. To model size effects in nanoscale, and considering the nanotube material which is piezoelectric, the consistent couple stress theory is used. First, using Hamilton's principle, the equations of motion and boundary condition of the piezoelectric cylindrical nanoshell are developed. Afterwards, using Navier approach and extended Kantorovich method (EKM), the governing equations of the system with simple-simple (S-S) and clamped-clamped (C-C) supports are solved. Afterwards, the effects of size parameter, geometric parameters (nanoshell length and thickness), and mechanical and electric properties (piezoelectric effect) on nanoshell vibrations are investigated. Results demonstrate that the natural frequency on nanoshell in nanoscale is extremely dependent on nanoshell size. Increase in size parameter, thickness and flexoelectric effect of the material leads to increase in frequency of vibrations. Moreover, increased nanoshell length and diameter leads to decreased vibration frequency.

  • This paper investigates the mechanical behavior of a new type of functionally graded graphene-reinforced nanocomposite (FG-GRNC) doubly-curved laminated shells, referred to as cosine FG-GRNC. The study employs a refined higher-order shear deformation shell theory combined with a modified continuum nonlocal strain gradient theory. The effective Young's modulus of the GRNC shell in the thickness direction is determined using the modified Halpin-Tsai model, while Poisson's ratio and mass density are calculated using the rule of mixtures. The analysis includes two graphene-reinforced distribution patterns-FG-A CNRCs and FG-B CNRCs-along with uniform UD CNRCs. An enhanced Galerkin method is used to solve the governing equilibrium equations for the GRNC nanoshell, yielding closed-form solutions for bending deflection and critical buckling loads. The nanoshell is supported by an orthotropic elastic foundation characterized by three parameters. A detailed parametric analysis is performed to evaluate how factors such as the length scale parameter, nonlocal parameter, distribution pattern, GPL weight fraction, shell thickness, and shell geometry influence deflections and critical buckling loads.
