  • Let {f(n)} be an increasing sequence such that f(n)>0 for each n and f(n)$\rightarrow$$\infty$. Let {X$_n$,n$\geq1$} be a sequence of pairwise independent random variables. In this paper we give sufficient conditions on {X$_n$,n$\geq1$} such that $sum_{i=1}^n$(X$_i$-EX$_i$)/f(n) converges to zero almost surely.

Helical Periodicity of $(dT)_n{\cdot}(dA)_n{\cdot}(dT)_n$ Triple - Stranded DNA

  • The helical periodicity of the triple-stranded $(dT)_n{\cdot}(dA)_n{\cdot}(dT)_n$ sequence was determined by measuring gel-mobilities of bent DNA fragments containing the sequence. In the bent DNA fragments, a $GA_{22}G$ $CT_{22}C$ sequence was located between two bent DNA loci composed of six $A_{6}{\cdot}T_{6}$ repeats. and the DNA length between the bent DNA loci was varied by 1 base pair over a full helical turn. The gel mobility of each bent DNA fragment reflected the overall extent of DNA bending and varied with the DNA length between the two bent loci. Mobilities of the bent DNA fragments in 5% polyacrylamide gel were measured after preincubating the DNA fragments both in the presence and absence of $CT_{22}C$ oligonucleotide. By comparing the bent DNA fragments containing an intermolecular triplex structure with those of a genuine duplex structure in the gel mobilities, the helical periodicity of the $T_n{\cdot}A_n{\cdot}T_n$ triplex DNA was determined to be $11.5({\pm}0.3)bp/turn$.

A Reranking Model for Korean Morphological Analysis Based on Sequence-to-Sequence Model (Sequence-to-Sequence 모델 기반으로 한 한국어 형태소 분석의 재순위화 모델)

  • A Korean morphological analyzer adopts sequence-to-sequence (seq2seq) model, which can generate an output sequence of different length from an input. In general, a seq2seq based Korean morphological analyzer takes a syllable-unit based sequence as an input, and output a syllable-unit based sequence. Syllable-based morphological analysis has the advantage that unknown words can be easily handled, but has the disadvantages that morpheme-based information is ignored. In this paper, we propose a reranking model as a post-processor of seq2seq model that can improve the accuracy of morphological analysis. The seq2seq based morphological analyzer can generate K results by using a beam-search method. The reranking model exploits morpheme-unit embedding information as well as n-gram of morphemes in order to reorder K results. The experimental results show that the reranking model can improve 1.17% F1 score comparing with the original seq2seq model.

  • We examined the minimal amino acid sequence of bovine lactoferricin (Lfcin-B), a cationic peptide corresponding to residues 17-41 near the N-terminus of bovine lactoferrin, to induce apoptosis in THP-l human monocytic leukemic cells using synthetic peptides. A synthetic peptide (Lfc-17/29, amino acid sequence; FKCRRWQWRMKKL) which is consist of 13 amino acids near the N-terminus of Lfcin-B induced cell death in THP-1 cells in a dose-dependent manner, showing apparent apoptotic changes such as hypodiploid forms of genomic DNA and apoptotic DNA fragmentation.   • Let {$Y_i,-{\infty}<i<{\infty}$} be a doubly infinite sequence of identically distributed and ${\rho}^*$-mixing random variables and {$a_i,-{\infty}<i<{\infty}$} an absolutely summable sequence of real numbers. In this paper, we prove the complete convergence of $\{\sum\limits_{k=1}^n\;\sum\limits_{n=-\infty}^\infty\;a_{i+k}Y_i/n^{1/t};\;n{\geq}1\}$ under suitable conditions.

  • The objective of the present manuscript is to obtain a moderated theorem proceeding with absolute Riesz summability ${\mid}{\bar{N}},p_n,{\gamma};{\delta}{\mid}_k$ by applying almost increasing sequence for infinite series. Also, a set of reduced and well-known factor theorems have been obtained under suitable conditions.

  • The vertical distribution of HCN, $HC_3N$ and $C_2N_2$ have been determined from a sequence of Voyager 1 IRIS limb tangent measurements over Titan's north polar region. This sequence yields gas distributions with ${\sim}200\;km$ altitude resolution over the 50-400 km range. The derived mixing ratios of HCN, $HC_3N$ and $C_2N_2$ are $5{\times}10^{-7}$, $7{\times}10^{-8}$ and $8{\times}10^{-9}$, respectively, at 120 km with a factor of 3 uncertainty.

N-terminal amino acid sequence analysis of major manganese peroxidase (MnP3) produced by static culture of Pleurotus ostreatus (느타리 버섯균의 정치배양으로부터 생산되는 중요한 망간퍼옥시데이즈(MnP3)의 N-말단 아미노산 배열 분석)

  • Pleurotus ostreatus No.42, known as the ligninolytic basidiomycetes, showed production of MnP and Lac, but did not show any LiP acitivity in static culture, grown in GPYW liquid medium. Maximum production of MnP (80U/flask) was observed on day 11 of culturing in this medium. Chromatographic purification of MnP included the use of Sepharose CL-6B and Mono-Q. The major MnP isozyme purified by column chromatography was observed to be a 36.4 KDa (single band on SDS PAGE). The 19-amino acid sequence from the N-terminal was determined by protein sequencing to be ATCADGRTTANAACCVLFP. The N-terminal sequence of the major MnP isozyme of P. ostreatus No.42 was found to be the same as a previously reported sequence of an MnP3 isozyme from this fungus.
