  • In this paper, we introduce and study a new class of random generalized nonlinear implicit variational-like inclusion with random fuzzy mappings in a real separable Hilbert space and give its fixed point formulation. Using the fixed point formulation and the proximal mapping technique for strongly maximal monotone mapping, we suggest and analyze a random iterative scheme for finding the approximate solution of this class of inclusion. Further, we prove the existence of solution and discuss the convergence analysis of iterative scheme of this class of inclusion. Our results in this paper improve and generalize several known results in the literature.

  • In this paper, we investigate the behavior and sensitivity analysis of a solution set for a parametric generalized multi-valued nonlinear quasi-variational inclusion problem in a real Hilbert space. For this study, we utilize the technique of resolvent operator and the property of a fixed-point set of a multi-valued contractive mapping. We also examine Lipschitz continuity of the solution set with respect to the parameter under some appropriate conditions.

  • Gabriel García Márquez's short story "The Handsomest Drowned Man in the World" ["El ahogado más hermoso del mundo," 1968] and the novel Chronicle of a Death Foretold [Crónica de una muerte anunciada, 1981] and Merlinda Bobis's novel Fish-Hair Woman (2012) and short story "O Beautiful Co-Spirit" (2021) feature unusual scenarios of death: the arrival of a drowned man's corpse at an island; the inaction of the community to stop the foretold death of a supposedly-innocent man; a woman with long hair that can fetch dead bodies at the bottom of the village river; and a Filipino Catholic and a Malaysian Muslim working together to prepare an Italian Catholic's corpse for a funeral. These narratives demand critical attention as all deaths make the community's existence meaningful as they alter its social reality. Looking into the works of the aforementioned Colombian writer and Filipino writer and unveiling how death affects the community, this paper relies on Jean-Luc Nancy's theory on death and inoperative community.

  • Let R be a commutative ring with identity and let I be a proper ideal of R. In this paper, we study the ideal based extended zero-divisor graph 𝚪'I (R) and prove that 𝚪'I (R) is connected with diameter at most two and if 𝚪'I (R) contains a cycle, then girth is at most four girth at most four. Furthermore, we study affinity the connection between the ideal based extended zero-divisor graph 𝚪'I (R) and the ideal-based zero-divisor graph 𝚪I (R) associated with the ideal I of R. Among the other things, for a radical ideal of a ring R, we show that the ideal-based extended zero-divisor graph 𝚪'I (R) is identical to the ideal-based zero-divisor graph 𝚪I (R) if and only if R has exactly two minimal prime-ideals which contain I.

  • The main intent of this paper is to prove an existence and uniqueness fixed point result under Geraghty contractions in b-metric-like spaces, which remains an extended version of corresponding results in b-metric spaces and metriclike spaces. Using two types of Geraghty contractions, an approach is adopted to verify some fixed point results in b-metric-like spaces. Our main result is an extension of an earlier result given by Geraghty in b-metric-like-space. An example is also provided to demonstrate the validity of our main result. Moreover, as an application of our main result, the existence of solution of a Fredholm integral equation is established which may further be utilized to study the seismic response of dams during earthquakes.

  • The purpose of this paper is the clarify the concept of Siāsa Shar'iyyah-the foundational principle of the application of Islamic law-and the occasion and methodology of the Muslim community in the implementation of Sharia. The paper deals with two important issues in terms of the impact of Sharia implementation. The first is the impact of applying Siāsa Shar'iyyah in terms of detailed rulings in Sharia. The second is the overall impact Siāsa Shar'iyyah has on the application of Sharia as a country's political system.

  • In this paper, we consider a class of random generalized nonlinear mixed variational inclusions with random fuzzy mappings and random relaxed cocoercive mappings in real Hilbert spaces. We suggest and analyze an iterative algorithm for finding the approximate solution of this class of inclusions. Further, we discuss the convergence analysis of the iterative algorithm under some appropriate conditions. Our results can be viewed as a refinement and improvement of some known results in the literature.

  • This study seeks to examine how the West, particularly United States (US), influences the narratives about terrorism, radicalism, and combating violent extremism (CVE) in Muslim majority nations such as Malaysia. We contend that some local institutions and researchers in Malaysia may have assumed the Faustian bargain by agreeing with the Western narrative that Islam's teachings promote violence and extremism in order to meet the demands of survival, whether it be funding for everyday operations or meeting the demands of universities or research institutions to sustain themselves and meet their performance indicators. We conducted a systematic literature review (SLR) from 2001 to 2021 and used Foucauldian Critical Discourse Analysis (CDA) to understand the role of the US in purposefully supporting workshops and research activities of particular institutions with the intent to influence national discourse on securitization and prospective policy implications. More importantly, we wish to alert Malaysian policymakers to pay particular attention and scrutinize ongoing programs such as the "Building Community Resilience" as these may inadvertently foster Islamophobia.

  • In 2010, nearly thirteen hundred Buddhist monks from all over the world converged on to the small Indonesian resort town of Berastagi to celebrate the inauguration of the Taman AlamLumbini, a replica of Myanmar's most iconic Theravada Buddhist temple, the ShwedagonPaya. Nestled on Christian lands within a predominantly Muslim country, the building of the Taman AlamLumbini marked several years of negotiation amongst various religious communities, local government mediators, and patrons. This study makes a preliminary assessment of the ways in which cultural and historical discourses were used by participants to evoke a sense of transnational connectedness outside the realm of formal bilateral diplomacy. Through particular Buddhist ceremonies, rituals, and imagery, Myanmar sponsors and Indonesian patrons promoted a sense of broad pan-Asianism that linked monks, state officials, and local lay practitioners into a single community. A brief examination of the key speeches during the opening ceremony reveals that national interest and identity were still very much in play.

  • Fiber Reinforced Polymer (FRP) bars have now been widely adopted as an alternative to traditional steel reinforcements in infrastructure and civil industries worldwide due variety of merits. This paper presents a numerical methodology to investigate FRP bar-reinforced beam-column joint behavior under quasi-static loading. The proposed numerical model is validated with test results considering load-deflection behavior, damage pattern at beam-column joint, and strain variation in reinforcements, wherein the results are in agreement. The numerical model is subsequently employed for parametric investigation to enhance the end-span beam-column joint performance using different joint reinforcement systems. To reduce the manufacturing issue of bend in the FRP bar, the headed FRP bar is employed in a beam-column joint, and performance was investigated at different column axial loads. Headed bar-reinforced beam-column joints show better performance as compared to beam-column joints having an L-bar in terms of concrete damage, load-carrying capacity, and joint shear strength. The applicability and efficiency of FRP bars at different story heights have also been investigated with varying column axial loads.
